The van is a little cramped but overall I was impressed. I had to change my reservation at the last minute because of a flight delay but when I called they were really friendly and made the change without any problems or extra fees. At SFO the driver was on time and friendly and the transfer to SJC was super easy. I'd definitely recommend them if you're trying to transfer between SFO and SJC. read more

While there is no good alternative to this service in the area at this price point, I have been repeatedly extremely frustrated by the very excessive speed and aggressiveness of their drivers on the road. Air travel is frustrating enough without worrying whether you will arrive at the airport in one piece. I have spoken to many people who have also had this experience over the past several years. I would encourage this company to examine why their drivers are so aggressive on the road. My wife literally refuses to take this shuttle because she does not feel safe in their vans. I would love to hear that this has truly changed but until then I would suggest either renting a car for a one way to the airport which can be as little as $70, doing a park and fly offer which are often very competitive or asking a friend or relative for a ride. If you must take this service, tell the driver to slow down or report them to the CHP if they are driving unsafely. Just because they have a uniform doesn't mean they know what they are doing. read more

We didn't leave Monterey on time because the driver waited around for a late passenger. I probably could have made it to SJC on time but I arrived 43 mins after I was scheduled to. I was to get to SJC at 8:30, getting there at 9:13 is unacceptable. What is worse is when I called back, in tears, mentioning that I missed my flight and needed to now go to SFO ($100 extra ticket) for an alternate flight, they blamed me for not accounting for traffic - even though I booked the airbus that was suggested to me on their website - and they refused to offer me a courtesy ride from SJC to SFO. Instead they blamed me and charged me an extra $20. Poor, inconsiderate, customer service and late departure truly ruined my morning and the beginning of my long trip. I'm so saddened while having to sit and wait an additional 30 mins for another airbus to SFO. read more

Reserved a seat online and saved a little dough. Cruised to SJC FAST. Really a great deal cause gas would cost you close to the same for someone to take you to SJC from Monterey and return. My relatives use it when they come to visit me in Monterey. Drops you off right downtown Old Monterey a few blocks down from the library. Great service, until they don't to take you to the airport and won't refund your money. The upside is learning that a one way car rental from Monterey to SFO is only $55 for 24 hours. I'm never taking this unreliable shuttle again. I have pneumonia because it was 30 min late at 9:00pm and since my bag was stolen at lax and had come from PV I was wearing flip flops and a dress as thick as tissue paper. What really was shocking was when the driver arrived he was so nonchalant and said " Lemme guess your going to say I'm late". Really?!? I'm freezing and you cant apologize nicely and get on with it. Then he took his sweet time getting to San Jose and stopped for a per break but again used words like "I need a humane bathroom break". Anyway he did the same thing the time before and got us in so late at night I was chased down by a homeless guy with no shoes on and it was so scarey I will never forget it. And one time I missed my flight because they were late (they allowed a lady to go to the bathroom before we even left at the Marriott which took 25 min. ) and I literally had to come back to monterey and leave the next day cutting a whole day off my vacation. This shuttle will not drop off in Salinas from SFO. When I asked the sales agent if there were any other shuttle services that do drop off in Salinas, she said they are the only shuttle service. There are several others. Jay Ride. Blue Shuttle. ABC Airporter. That is bad customer service. I respect a company much more when they can offer recommendations when they cannot accommodate. read more

If you don't have a car and need to get to Monterey (CA), this is probably the most sedate way to go. Monterey Airbus is (miraculously) faster than driving yourself from SJC or SFO! Almost anyone who's lived in Monterey for any time will confirm this! It's a little on the pricey side, but lots more convenient and reliable than Amtrak... Vans leave regularly from downtown Monterey and stop off in Salinas, SJC and SFO. I took Monterey Salinas Airbus all the time when I was in grad school with no car and the Fella was living in San Jose with a not-so-reliable car. If it's good enough for me, it's probabably good enough for you, too. read more

I have never been disappointed with the service and how safe and secure you feel that you'll never be let down by them. The price is super reasonable too. Negative Stars Apply. My wife was taking the 4pm shuttle from Monterey to SJ Airport. Midway through the journey I receive a text saying "Pray for me. Our driver is a lead foot. Driver is speeding, driving recklessly, and seems to not have a care for passenger safety." Not a good way Monterey Airbus on making a good impression. I am not sure why there are bad reviews for this service. The driver was polite and was able to verify quickly that they transferred my ride time at the last minutiae due to a delay. The ride to the stop was smooth, but the bumpiness is not the drivers fault since there are time when the highway was not evenly smoothed out. I would recommend then to anyone that is flying in from San Jose. read more

I would give them a zero rating if I could. Monterey Airbus is a poorly run business and is clearly profiting from a lack of competition in the airport shuttle business in Monterey County. We have used the service many times simply because they are the only game in town. NO MORE. We will happily pay the difference and use Uber/Lyft or rent a car. The customer service is almost non-existent. The drivers clearly do not have any training in customer service and unless you are fortunate to have a driver that is by nature reasonable and polite watch out. The last driver we had was beyond rude. He was passive-aggressive, rude, insulting and clearly in the wrong job. We have also experienced very poor driving skills from several drivers. Exceeding the speed limits and looking at a mobile phone while driving are not examples of safe driving skills as far as we are concerned. We were always so relieved to get off the bus at our stops. You can easily rent a car at the Monterey airport and get a airport-to-airport rate to SFO or SJC. We did try this out on our last trip to SFO, avoiding traffic leaving early on a Sunday morning, and it worked great. read more

I booked a ride from SJC to SFO. Apparently they pick up at terminal B only according to a fineprint on their website, and I waited at terminal A. They have another shuttle going to monterey and I asked the driver where to wait for my ride (at 12:30pm jun 11) , and he clearly said right there at terminal A. So i waited and finally called the company at 1pm and they finally told me I had to wait at terminal B. I am going to miss my flight, Everyone from the company I talked to was extremely rude, and needless to say, you should avoid this company at all costs. read more

I usually am really anxious when other people drive because i've had a lot of bad experiences, but I was extremely comfortable on the ride to the airport from Prundale, CA to San Jose, CA. I've been taking Monterey Airbus for a couple of years and I've never had a bad experience. I had a great ride today with Timothy and he got us from Downtown Monterey to SFO with plenty of time to spare and he was very helpful and courteous to each and every passenger. ***edit*** I had a...Horrible experience. I was scheduled to be picked up at SJC at 6:50, was outside at their designated spot well before. I called right at 6:50, to make sure I had not missed the bus, girl said the driver should be by any minute. Around 7 a bus shows up, but was a transfer between SJC and SFO. The driver mentions traffic was heavy but the bus should be here soon. By 7:25, I call again. The girl talks to the driver....he is in Prunedale!!! Never picked me up. I was there early. I was in the correct spot. Now I'm currently waiting to hopefully be picked up by 8:05. Customer service was very defensive and offered no other solution. If I have a reservation with my name on a list, I would expect a phone call at the very least to see if I had missed the bus for a reason. Or if they missed me. Completely rude and unprofessional. Will never use or recommend again... This was my original review when I was upset that I was stranded for an extra hour and fifteen minutes. However, the next morning the owner of the company called me and personally apologized for my bad experience. He reviewed the camera on the bus and confirmed the driver left early, which was against their policy. The owner refunded me my money and sent me a voucher for a free ride if I would consider using the service again. I appreciate the owner taking his time to try to right the situation. And I understand that some employees don't always follow the rules and do what they should do. Also, the driver that was on time (for the later pick up) was very polite, nice, and funny. Very easy to book a trip. I rode from SFO to Monterrey (and back again a few days later), and the entire experience was as smooth as silk. The drivers were professional, efficient and skilled. The bus used was small, but the seats were comfortable. The real bonus is how stupidly cheap it is when compared with a car rental, puddle-jumper plane ride, Greyhound bus ticket or the rail-bus cominations. I live in Salinas and have a business in Monterey and when I read the reviews of this service I had some trepidation. I was able to book a trip from Prunedale to San Jose Airport within an hour and 15 minutes of my call. Heidi helped me on the phone and took my money. The driver showed up about 8 minutes behind schedule and then absolutely hauled but up to the airport. If you want an excellent driver asked for Will. The guy is friendly, courteous, and really knows how to drive. We were on schedule by the time we got to San Jose Airport, and the wireless in the bus did work! We had a full bus. Dispatch had not told Wll that I would be at Prunedale bus stop and I am really glad he drove in to check to see if I was there. That was the only mess up transaction. Well worth 35 bucks! read more

I have used the Monterey Airbus several times over the past few years. For me it is a worthwhile service that suits my transportation needs. My experiences with them have been positive ones. The vehicles are comfortable and safe, the drivers are very pleasant, and the service is worth the cost. On my last trip I was happy to use the free Wi-Fi that they now offer. I plan on using their service again soon and would recommend it to anyone traveling between Monterey and SJC or SFO. read more

I made a reservation for a 9:45am pickup time at SFO to MRY. I arrived on time and called asking where to go. It was then 5 minutes past and I got worried. After calling at 9:47 I was on hold on the phone and seeing no bus the lady on the phone then told me I missed it. I was outside at the curb the entire time. How could you lie?! The bus was said to be loading as I was on the phone. There sure were no buses for the airbus after walking down and looking left and right WOW!! Terrible customer service!! I give Will the bus driver 5 stars. He was amazing! So happy and friendly. It is not his fault that the bus needs much better shocks and is loud. Will cares about the passengers and wants everyone to have a positive ride and experience. It was refreshing to see someone so happy on the job. This man seemed to love helping people and everyone was not that friendly to him but he was friendly to everyone. I wish he would always be the driver, nice to have that kind of service today. This was my first time using Monterey Airbus and I was impressed. Our first ride was from Monterey to San Jose Airport. The bus was on time and our driver was super friendly. Just prior to departure he handed us each a small bottle of water and was attentive to the temperature on the bus - regularly checking in to see if the passengers were comfortable with the a/c. We also used them to return from SJC to Monterey. We had booked the 8.30 pm bus thinking there was no way we would get through customs/immigration etc to catch the earlier bus. As we exited the terminal, the bus was just about to pull away - my daughter managed to catch the drivers attention and he was more than happy to stop and let us on the earlier bus (6.30 pm) which was wonderful after an 11 hour flight. Best, quick and most economical ride you can get as long as you can fit it into your schedule. Cheaper than Uber. $20.00 ride from SFO to SJC per person. Cab ride will be about $100.00 dollars, Uber will vary depending on time of day/night. My night ride with Uber estimated to about $45.00 dollars for two people with (2) bags. Monterey Airbus is a flat rate of $20.00 per person. Cash or Charge. Ride is fast and can't get no better. Advantage is a professional company and you never know what you will get with Uber. Uber hires part timers and you don't know who or what these drivers do outside of Uber. With Monterey AB, these people have a professional van, driver and licensed carrier company. I have used the Monterey Airbus for years. I have found the drivers to be helpful and kind , and I like the frequency of the shuttles. My only issue is the quality of the ride. The shuttles feel like they have absolutely no shocks, so you are vibrating and bumping all the way from SFO- makes you a little sick. But since they are the only affordable game in town, I will still use them. Just know you are in for a very uncomfortable ride. read more

Easy to book and easy to reach customer service. Felt a little disorganized. When I was running a few minutes behind I called and they said the shuttle had already left (we're talking airport pickup scheduled at 5:35 and I called at 5:39). They pushed my reservation to the next hour. When that shuttle arrived the driver said they were going to be full and I called customer service again. Ultimately they put me on that van and we booked it out of there before another scheduled passenger who was running a few minutes late could get to the stop. If you're going to use this service, plan to be EARLY for your reservation. read more
