Before the pandemic we used Main Event Transportation (MET) several times for transit by sedan from my house to or from SFO/SJC. Each trip was well performed in a reliable and professional way. In June of 2023 we arranged with MET for transit to SJC from my home by sedan. Pickup was set for 5:40 AM. This agreement was confirmed by email from MET 2 days before the scheduled date. At the appointed time, no driver came. I phoned MET multiple times that day with no answer. No explanation was ever provided. To not show up and not inform us in any way is irresponsible and unacceptable. I will not use MET again. read more

We used Main Event for a wine tasting day in Carmel. Our driver, Ramesh, was awesome--he arrived slightly earlier than our pick-up time (which we thought was great) and he was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We really didn't have to think about anything and were able to just enjoy the day. Also, their rates are competitive--we booked with them but then later found other quotes for less, and they were willing to match the other quotes. BE AWARE This company took my $450 deposit on Monday for a limousine through their online booking system. THEY PROCESSED THE PAYMENT AND IT POSTED TO MY credit card account. They sent me a message yesterday saying sorry but they have no availability. As of Wednesday 4pm they have not refunded to me the $450. They also are not getting back to me as the said they would. So I am very concerned about the legitimacy of the business. Be careful if you do decide to do business with them. read more

Cannot say enough about Main Event! As a corporate event planner and liaison to the Board of Directors for my company, I was planning our June Board meeting in Carmel Valley. We had contracted another shuttle company to provide a Mercedes Sprinter to take our Board to an offsite lunch and activity and that company called only four days before our meeting to let me know they "couldn't do" our job any more. I called Main Event on a Friday afternoon and not only were they able to provide me with an executive shuttle, the price was exactly what I was expecting and their customer service was great. They sent me the online confirmation for the service within two hours and I got everything set up over the weekend. The day of the contracted service, there was a terrible accident on southbound Hwy 1 that had traffic backed up for seven miles. The shuttle drive called me well ahead of our pickup to let me know he was stuck in the traffic and then he kept me informed of his progress to getting to us. He ended up being only 15 minutes late, which was alright with our group. The shuttle was very nice as this was my Board of Directors and their spouses who would be on it. The driver was considerate and professional. The final invoice was exactly what we discussed and we got wonderful service. We would definitely use them again for Board events! read more

Called Main Event today hoping to arrange a drop off and pick-up to Monterey Airport. I live in Monterey about a half mile from Main Event office. The airport is approximately 4.8 miles from my house. When the lady quoting the service told me a sedan pick-up and drop off would cost $105.75 ea way I nearly fell off my chair. I asked if she could do any better or perhaps offer a less expensive vehicle or option. She said no. I called Yellow Cab's Monterey number. Super friendly staff agent took my address and provided a quote of $15, no more than $16 each way ... needless to say I arranged this service with them locked in a pick-up time. I'm frustrated Main Event is charging this much to travel 4.8 miles. When I lived in Rio Del Mar, I would pay Early Bird based in Santa Cruz $110 ea way to San Jose airport ... clearly Main Event doesn't need nor want my business and I'm ok with that. We have had the pleasure of utilizing Main Event numerous times in the last five years--we cannot be more pleased with their service, professionalism, and care. All of the drivers have been courteous, prompt and very accommodating. One time we were rescued from San Francisco due to a foggy night in Monterey and will be forever grateful!! Another heavenly experience was when we and another couple returned from an 18 hour travel day--we stretched out with luxury to our own homes feeling pampered and grateful to not have to drive. Ordered two vans and a town car last minute for my June wedding. I was worried about what the vans would look like but they were perfect. More like party buses than vans. Drivers were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We had no complaints from guests which was amazing considering that the two vans had to move a lot of people really quickly. We used main event limo for our wedding on Nov 11, 2012 and everything went well. Our church was located on a local army post, we needed to submit the limo driver's details in advance to the army post - main event was very helpful and followed up ahead of time. The driver was professional and courteous. We had a guest lose his wallet in the church. We requested the driver rush back to the church before it was locked up, the driver did not hesitate to navigate the limo on the small windy military base roads back to the church, and we found the wallet just in time! We used Main Event Transportation for our wedding last Sept.8th,2017 at Carmel & Monterey, Ca. We booked a luxury limousine for our wedding party and they did not disappoint. First, they were very responsive to all my inquiries and they followed through all my requests. Second, all their staff were very professional, starting from the online chat representative, the booking staff, and the driver (Jason). They were all very pleasant to work with. Third, they were never late for pick-ups. We had multiple pick-up locations because the groom and the groomsmen were staying at a different house while the bridal party were staying at Marriott Monterey Hotel. We all got to Carmel Mission Basilica before our wedding ceremony started. I was so grateful that nobody was late because I have been to weddings where some of the members of the entourage arrived late. Fourth, our driver, Jason, was very kind and knowledgeable about the area. He took us to a beautiful beach near the church and we were able to get multiple photos with our wedding photographer. We hired a van to take our party of 8 to Sierra Mar at the Post Ranch Inn for a Thanksgiving celebration. We had a fun and entertaining driver named Jim who we all enjoyed. A driver we highly recommend. The Main Event reservation desk was professional, courteous and attentive with the arrangements as well as accommodating the varies pick-up and drop-off locations for our guests. The reservation confirmation sheet was exact with the instructions and terms discussed. The fee for a holiday rental of nearly 8 hours was a fair and appropriate price. I cannot rave enough about the services from Main Event. I was in Monterey with a group of clients for a business conference, and wanted to schedule a little getaway for afternoon tea. I had very specific criteria for our limo (color, capacity, etc), and exact times with no flexibility for pickup and drop off. The woman I spoke to at the Main Event office arranged exactly what I needed, with professionalism, great communication, and a positive attitude. They sent out e-mails pre-event with a clear explanation of services and times, and were so flexible and helpful when my credit card was hacked and shut down by my bank the day BEFORE the event (gahh) and I had to change all my payment information. Best of all was the day of the event. Our driver Sam was there early, impeccably dressed, standing in front of a limo so polished it shone. He greeted all my clients with a courtesy and charm worthy of a Hollywood red carpet event. We drove the 17 Mile Drive/Pebble Beach route post afternoon tea, and his stories about the area, the history, and the interesting trivia of various spots along the way were THE highlight of our afternoon. Used Main Event to shuttle all of our wedding guests from hotel to ceremony site (10 minutes drive), from ceremony site to reception (15 min), and from reception back to hotel (15 min). The ceremony was on the beach, and they were so patient and helpful with guests wiping sand off and getting sand all over the buses. Booking was easy with them; after a phone call, they sent me the contract. Changes could be made up to 5 days before the event. They were incredibly professional the day of, and knew exactly where they were going and were exactly on time. Would highly recommend! read more

One name, Sam. This guy single handily made my Wife and I private eloping ceremony in pebble beach, exceed any expectations we had for ourselves. Sam was the complete package and I mean the complete package, I never met a limo driver quite like him. In fact there is very few people on this earth that are willing to go the extra mile like Sam did for our marriage. Sam not only brought the style, the charm, professionalism, politeness, and the likes of a personal assistant to the table that one would expect a limo driver to do. However he brought a lot extra, he became our personal photographer and he knew how to use the professional camera we brought. He seemed to have some knowledge in profession photography as he was getting us in poses where the background lighting was just perfect. He would even move or rotate objects just so that they looked great in a photo, like he did with the limo by moving it and putting it on a slant to capture the limo, us, and the ocean. Sam would climb rocks, get on top of walls to make sure he was getting the best shot for us. After seeing our photos weeks after, we were sure glad to of had Sam that day. After our ceremony Sam took us on a ride thru Carmel and Pebble Beach and let me just say he knew his stuff, and his way around. He was able to explain a lot of history and interesting facts about the area, and even show us some of the land marks that make the area popular. Then when my wife and I wanted to do a few drinks at various locations, he knew exactly where to take us. The places were not only rich in history, and some great drinks and sitting outdoors. However they also had some great views and Sam had no problem capturing some photos of us anytime we wanted them. Sam always made sure we were comfortable and were enjoying ourselves, occasionally walking into the bar/restaurant that we were at, just to make sure we were enjoying the selection he choose for us and offering up a tip or information about the place. The night ended with my new Wife and I at Rocky Point Restaurant where the views were off the chart, and Sam once again managed to get photos that are wall framed worthy for our home of the sun setting in the back ground of us. All I can say is Sam went above and beyond and was quickly accepted by my Wife and I as a friend who was our DD for the night making sure we were ok and having a great time on our wedding day. Often just taking the time to share stories, talk, lots and lots of laughs and get to know one another while sharing a drink (non-alcoholic for Sam of course, LOL). Sam was never pushy or where you felt he was in your face, he just was going above to make sure our day was everything it could be and everything we wanted. Never ever did I picture our wedding to go quite like the way it ended, but I'm sure glad Sam was our driver that day/evening as he made our special day go beyond anything we ever pictured for ourselves. I booked a 10 seater luxury van (similar to a Sprinter van with spacious black leather seats) this past weekend. The quote was $100 less than the competitors quote for their 12 seater and I thought that was great for just wanting to get everyone home safe after a wine tasting day. Michael was so helpful and patient over the phone with all my questions and figuring out logistics of picking everyone up individually that I felt compelled to write a review to praise his good service. But the good service kept coming all the way through. When I had to call back to make changes on the route, Nelita picked up right where we had left off with Michael when he had left for the day. No miscommunications. I loved that because often when you talk to different people, things aren't communicated and things can go wrong. The morning of the pickup Cruz, our driver, called to go over the route. He called when he got to the first location 15 minutes early, just to say he was there but no rush. Everyone was picked up and happy when they got to me. He was sweet enough to take pictures of our group and offering different angles and lighting too! He was very accommodating and let us know that even though we were off wine tasting for the next 3 hours, he was at our disposal and gave me his number in case he was needed between that time. This made me feel so at ease as we are all moms away from our kids for the day. I knew if someone had an emergency, he could whisk her off to her house and come back to get us later for no extra charge. Cruz was very helpful making sure we all got in and out safely, offering a hand if needed to get down the steps. As my sister was making small talk we found out that he volunteered to work on his day off to accommodate our last minute reservation 2 days prior. I had a contract with Main Event to transport myself and entire wedding party to the wedding location. Pick up for the groom and groomsmen started late, the driver was unable to drive the vehicle with ease and this made it where he was unable to get the men to the wedding location in time. What should have been a 10 minute drive turned into over a hour. My wedding did not start on time because I should have been there at 2 p.m., Got there an hour late. I had to chase the driver down in my wedding gown, before we were picked up. Then I had to walk 1/2 mile down a dirt access road which the company claimed they had been down several times and would be able to get me there with no problem, the driver was unable to drive the road. He never took the bridal party to the reception prior to the groom and I, and never got our red carpet or just married signs. This company is a joke, and I would never recommend them. They are not willing to even discuss this situation with me. I ended up having to pay extra to the officiant because we started over an hour late. read more

This review is strictly for the website. A few days ago I made a reservation for a shuttle ride to the airport tomorrow morning. Through the Main Event Transportation website, it clearly states that they allow pets as long as they are in a carrier. Luckily I put a note on my purchase that I would be bringing a small dog along with me. I received a call this morning stating that they don't allow pets because the shuttle is through Monterey Airbus. Even though I paid through Main Event Transportation's website. I was clearly upset when I called this morning to get this figured out, but the customer service rep hung up on me. Not only did I clearly overpay for the Airbus because I could've booked through their site for $35 and Main Event Transpo charged me $64, but now I don't have a ride to the airport this morning. I saw no disclaimer saying that my reservation was being booked through Monterey Airbus and pets wouldn't be allowed. Them contracting out to a company which has different policies and no disclaimer to note the difference seems absurd. read more

Couldn't ask for a better transportation/logistics company to work with. Jennifer is my "go to" person for sure. When I have a need for shuttles for a wedding or corporate event she works with me to decide on how many and what size vehicles, but she also helps me time out the transfers. Working with locals and experts in their field makes such a difference. You might find a company out of town that is a little less, but I would rather have the piece of mind knowing that the staff in the office and the drivers are local experts and know their way around. We had a driver, who told us his name was Sunny (bus number 168), drive a group of wedding guests home last night from Tehema golf course to our hotel. He started the night off by saying that he was going to be taking a "short cut" by going down a steep, sharp, windy road that he had never driven before so we needed to shut up and not speak. Then Sunny floored the shuttle bus, taking corners at full speed, driving down the middle of Highway 1, purposefully rocking the bus back and forth - at one point we were up on two side wheels. Sunny has gotten into an argument with another guest before our ride, and took out his anger on our bus ride. It was so terrifying that a group of men who had been drinking rushed the front of the bus to get him to stop. What should have been a less than 10 minute drive took almost 30 because he went all the way around the area. When the bus finally got the first stop, everyone got off and took Ubers to their hotels. People were screaming and crying, begging him to knock it off. As we were getting off the bus, he was just glaring and staring at the passengers. He is a liability and will get someone killed. Until Main Event Transportation makes sure their employees are mentally stable, I would highly recommend you find a different company. It was the most terrified we had ever been in our lives, no question. He has no business driving people around. read more

Although very professional and easy to deal with on the phone and via email, Main Event did not quite hit the mark for me. I probably discussed the exact timeline I wanted with them 15 times and they still didn't meet it. Not only did I give them a drop dead time to leave by, I gave them a list of names and said "if everyone on this list is on the bus, the driver can leave early." Well the driver arrived at the venue 35 minutes early -- leaving my guests to stand out in the cold and us not ready for them, which was only about 4 minutes after the time he was supposed to leave the hotel 30+ minutes away. My guests said the driver left minutes after arriving and clearly not all guests were on board because several of them drove. Considering how much time I spent explaining the necessity of the timeline to them, they still got it wrong. I will give them a thumbs up on having clean/nice transportation. read more

After shopping around for a couple of weeks and going to multiple businesses to look over the vehicles, Which I highly recommend people should do. I went with these folks. I appreciated how much time they took going over the reservation and truly wanting the event to go smoothly. The day before they confirmed all the details and I am so glad they did. We had some changes and we forgot to update the transportation to reflect the change in pick up locations. The vehicle was Very clean and the Driver(Kevin)suggested a beautiful scenic photo spot on the way, which turned out to be some of the nicest pictures of the wedding. Kevin offered us complimentary water on the way which I thought was a really nice touch since it was almost an hour drive to get there. At the end of the night the drive was so comfortable I think everyone fell asleep. If I need another transportation I will definitely give them a call. read more
