We had many great experiences with Ruben and his crew over the years. Other family members used him and we gladly recommended him to friends. But starting last fall, Reuben and his business just "went off the air". We knew he was leaving the Aptos area and retiring to Merced. He told us he had purchased a home there and was looking forward to it. At some point last fall his phone continued to work and I could leave messages but he simply stopped communicating. We gave up after numerous tries and felt bad that Reuben wouldn't call us back or put on a recording thanking his good customers and saying he had retired and wasn't accepting any more requests for service. Anyway, Rueben we miss you. Luckily we have found a very excellent new shuttle service that we are very happy with. read more

I had Ruben's shuttle service pick up my daughter's family at SFO. Ruben picked up a car seat from my place early that morning. What I didn't know is that he would send someone else to pick them up. Miraculously the other driver found them and then left behind important luggage (all of my daughter's Christmas gifts from Holland where she lives and one of her son's backpack) in the airport garage! Ruben said they go up to SFO all the time and could pick up the luggage, however since most of the flights were cancelled he backed out. Thankfully we had the luggage FedExed. You're probably thinking that doesn't sound like a 5 star review. I'm making it 5 stars because for the ride back to SFO Ruben was the driver in a much nicer van. He and the previous driver picked up a large bicycle box from my place and dropped off as well, plus the car seat, no extra charge. Ruben also drove through the atmospheric bomb cyclone river we've been having and got my daughter's family to the airport on time. We were all relieved and surprised the flight was not cancelled. I had to call Ruben's Airport Shuttle just a week before my trip and I was able to get everything lined up in time. Both drivers were very nice and professional. I was kept informed with confirmation of my trips both nights before leaving and on the morning of travel when one driver ran into traffic on the way to my house. Everything went well. Please always leave very early for the airport everyone! A lot of things can slow down your trip and you don't want to miss your flight. His operation is small, just 3-vehicles at the time of the writing, because while he could easily have 12, he opts to expand at a pace that allows him to ensure the quality is excellent. I reserved a shuttle for SFO to Aptos nearly a month in advance. When we arrived at the gate in SFO I called Ruben. He informed me that he was not there but someone else was and that we should call him again after getting through customs and baggage claim. I did so and he told me to go to the Departures level--VERY inconvenient because of all the luggage we had to cart upstairs. Then when we got to the Departures level he told us to go back down to the Arrivals level, where he would send the shuttle. We waited nearly an hour, calling Ruben several times to find out where our shuttle was (Ruben did not know). Finally we were picked up by a 3rd party that Ruben called: www.itour.ws a very professional limo service that took us home. I will never use Ruben's Airport Shuttle again. read more

Ruben saved the day, or the middle of the night rather! I was fine to pick up my friend at 11 in Oakland but when his flight continued to get delayed I found Ruben. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I tried to book a taxi with them. They called back an hour later telling us that they were having trouble running the card. We didn't have time to sort out payment, we needed a ride urgently to the airport, so we asked if we could cancel. They agreed. I thought everything was fine until I checked my credit card bill and found that they had charged me $100. Why would they tell us that it was okay to cancel and not mention that we would be charged for it??? Very unprofessional. read more

On Friday July 21 at 5:45 am, I was driving in Aptos. Ruben's Airport Shuttle was tail-gaiting me down Hwy 1. It then weaved in and out of traffic, going at least 80 mph and exited on State Park Dr. It then took off speeding over the highway and down Soquel Dr. I was shocked at how fast and recklessly this person was driving. I will now never use this airport shuttle due to witnessing this scary driving. read more
