Charged me extra days. Took more than a week to get refunded. First off all, their local phone system is horrible and couldn't even leave a message. Then had to call support number twice to have it resolved. They forwarded my refund request to this branch twice and they never responded. Finally got a hold of the Zach, and he "processed" my request, but never got a receipt email. Wow, I must have come on the right day because my experience at the Monterey Airport was 5 stars! I usually rent via Turo, but the selection was aweful, so I called this Enterprise location and the guy on the phone was incredibly helpful and chill. He told me they had a few cars available, so I headed down and was greeted with enthusiasm. The entire team at the desk was helpful and seemed like they all had positive attitudes. It took me less than 10 minutes to checkout and get a car. Upon return, I was asked 4-5 questions. Returning the car took less than 5 minutes. Very efficient. read more

I've had good luck with this location. I recently returned a car that was from another location where they were awful and they discounted the rental. This review is for he car rental itself, not the friendly ladies at the front desk. 1) Car was sub par, unsafe, unacceptable. 2) Bone dry windshield wiper fluid 3) discovered cut line/tube connector to windshield wiper fluid ( spend 40 min on my vacation wasting time ) to "fix issue that could not be fixed 4) bend windshield Wiper part where fluid actually sprays out ( fluid sprays to street instead of windshield) 5 ) day 7, car will not startup 6) more time trying to get a new rental, service , etc ( total vacation time wasted 3 hours) 7) we had filled up tank, lady at desk insists we can not be reimbursed for $40 we spend filling up tank before the car simply would not start I can not recommend this car rental service, especially as a mother with children traveling, the car was UNSAFE and put me in unsafe circumstances. Often the car you reserve will NOT be available. Not dependable at all. I had to go to another company. They said they called me to let me know and they did not. So here's our story or should I say nightmare until the Enterprise Agent BENNY At This Location Saved not only the day but our entire weekend trip for my daughter's college graduation. We had booked a travel package with Orbitz for our Monterey Weekend May 19-21 2017. Btw Orbitz Is Awsome. However The Package Rental Car Reservation Was With Budget. All Paid For And Included.All We Had To do was to arrive at the Budget Counter, Pay A Deposit For The Rental Car And Be On Our Way. NOT! Simple Right? Wrong. When I Gave The Budget Attendant My CDL Along With My Bank Card. He Disclosed A Strict Budget Policy That The Renter/Driver Name On The Drivers License Had To Match Exactly The Name Of The Debit/Credit Card. This Was Not Stated In The Terms &Conditions. My Last Name Was Different As Id Gotten Married And Had Yet To Get My Bank Card With My Married Name On It. Budget Was Adamant On This Rule.NO EXCEPTIONS! It Didnt Matter That I Had Numerous Forms Of ID. To Prove The Names Both Were Mysef. Ok We Tried To Let My Wife Make The Deposit But No She Was Not The Registered Driver. Some guy that works here ( I won't say his name because I'm being nice) acted totally unprofessional when helping my wife and nephew. Totally lead them to believe renting a car was possible, but failed to mention they only accept credit cards. Upon expressing his opinion that credit cards "are the new debit cards", he smiled smugly as he knew my nephew and wife were obviously expecting to pay with a debit. As they left he mumbled something like, "this is why we need trump to build that wall." And that's why I'm writing this bad review instead of calling all of family and picketing this so-called professional establishment. I may change my mind and file a discrimination lawsuit. After several unforeseen same-day flight delays and more than one rental car company unable to hold my rental car, CWTSato, the travel agency used by the Navy, made me a reservation at Enterprise for a full-size car at the same government rate I had already been authorized. However, when I arrived at the counter, no full-sized cars were available, so the representative offered me a full-sized SUV but at a substantially higher rate. I spent several minutes discussing the company's reservation policy, and my desire to receive the vehicle agreed to on the reservation at the agreed upon price. She was not willing to do that, nor was she willing to provide me with the available vehicle at the agreed upon rate. It was reservation be damned--take it or leave it. I know this isn't a common practice for Enterprise, as I've been renting cars from them for more than 20 years, and until this latest experience they've always met the agreed upon reservation price. This particular Enterprise branch, at least in this instance, does not meet the company's commitment to service, quality and value. I immediately contacted Enterprise customer service and asked them to intervene. I'll follow up here with the company's response. UPDATE: To Enterprise's (corporate) credit, they ended up making this right by honoring the price agreed to on the reservation. They were professional, understanding, and compassionate in dealing with our recent car rental issues and damage to the car caused by a deer. It doesn't happen very often these days when one can find such great people who take their job seriously, but also consider things in life that can happen and that can directly effect other humans. Not sure what their issue was today, but it wasn't good. Ten deep at the counter, one CS agent handing out keys. After twenty minutes of standing in line, I get my keys and head for Peking lot. Examining my car, the front right number is crushed and parts are hanging. I wave down the CS agent in parking lot, he runs inside to get the counter person to come help. He runs back, looks at the damage and states he will run inside and get me another set of keys and that I should just wait in parking lot. Thirty minutes later I walk back into the airport directly to Avis, where I also hold status and they graciously get me a car at the same grade for less money. On the way out the Enterprise CS Agent again has ten plus standing in line, and obviously has no intention of getting me keys in the parking lot. I cut the line through my contract on the counter asking him to cancel it and for having me waste my time. read more

I am a long time user of Enterprise in my business travels, and usually have impeccable service. I lost my Drivers License prior to getting to airport. Even though, I had a copy of my drivers license, passport, and I am an Emerald Member, and they can see, if they would have looked that I have rented at least 25 vehicles this year for a week at a time. They refused to rent me car. I went to National, which is owned by Enterprise, and she was smart enough to look my Emerald number up, and gladly rented me a car. If anything is wrong with your rental- you're screwed. It's your fault that the wipers do not work so when you attempt to trade your SUV in for another one- expect to have them tell you there are none available. Want a tip? Go to the website and rent a new car- an SUV will be available. So when they tell you they can't get you into a new car, give them your confirmation # to the new reservation- then watch them back pedal. I'm the CEO of a local company in Arizona and tried Enterprise out for the first time in many years- I was quickly reminded why I left them years ago. I'll never do business with these guys again. Family Reunion I had a great trip because we were able to be in the same car and just enjoy each other with fun and laughter. The seats and very nice. I did have trouble, because I am short, getting up and down from the middle of the van. But my grandson found a milk crate and we took on our trip. Also since there was many (14) of us there was no room for all the luggage. I would suggest making more room in the back for luggage Other than that we had a great time. read more

Looking at the fine reviews so far, I hate to be "that guy", but: Reserved a car via the Enterprise website. Got a vm from Timo at the Monterey airport location shortly after the reservation was made- missed it, no cell reception where I was. Got to the airport an hour before pick-up and was told at the counter that they had no cars available- but might have by 1500 at the earliest. When I asked why the online service let me rent a car, I was told: "They're back east and don't know what we have here"...(8O... yeah, that's totally how it works.) Now I had a little spare time so I called the Enterprise toll-free number a couple of times and each time was told that the airport location had cars- also- the operator tried to reach the airport location to determine if cars were available, but only got VM. I called the airport a couple of times- same thing. Called back at 1500- got someone- still no cars... so, I asked to be called AS SOON as one was available, and was told I would be. I was called back promptly at... well, I never got called. Couldn't use another rental agency because this was a one way to my small town which ONLY has Enterprise. So- consider this a small operation that does not play well with the reservation system, and call Timo direct at 831 242 2020 if you want a car- OR, if you are flight crew, have one of the jet center folks set you up. By the way, Timo, in my opinion, you are one of the worst folks I've dealt with in the car rental world. My school rented several cars from this location for a conference. We borrowed a parking permit from one oof our personal vehicles for the weekend so that our capus police wouldn't ticket the rental car. Unfortunately we left the $104 permit hanging from the rear view mirror when we returned the car. We called multiple times over the next few days and spoke with several employees. All of them said they would get back to us. After 2 weeks of waiting nobody has returned our calls. This is very frustrating especially in light of the fact that our university really pushes enterprise as the option for student orgs to rent from. read more

We have rented a minivan a few times to make road-trips easier for our family. The vehicles are consistently clean, and the customer service at MRY is top-notch. This location at the airport does not accept debit cards, only credit cards. I wish they would have stated this up front. I did make reservation for 4 days ago. I don't know about anyone else but it seems that a debit cardholder is being punished or penalized for not having a credit card. I absolutely could not disagree more with the prior review. These people are horrible. Please take your business to either Avis or National. The main problem with Enterprise in general is that they don't understand the business traveler. I flew in on a flight from Denver and waited 25 Mins at an empty counter. Then to add insult to injury they didn't have the size car I reserved, therefore I took a sub-compact in place of a full size car. The agent then had the audacity to put me through the ringer on every single insurance one could imagine. Look Enterprise. As a business traveler -- we want the keys and we want to get out of there fast. We've been travelling all day. Yes -- yes -- yes-- we all get it, you make fist fulls of money by shaming and coercing your clientele into taking your insurance and running you fleet so thin that you rarely have the car a customer booked. That's great and that's fine for making money but please spare me the line about acting like you care about the customer and priding yourself on customer service. This is company is chiefly defined by a stellar balance sheet. Make no mistake they will find a way to rip you off anyway they can. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Once again they didn't have the Standard Specialty car promised. Every time I rent at this location, they try to pass off a piece of crap for a luxury car rental. And every time the car is filthy. Each time I think they can't screw up again and they do!!!! This time it was a birthday celebration going to a Giants game and they don't have my car. I called daily to make sure there would be no surprises, and sure enough, no car. Trying to call the 800 takes pressing 5 prompts to even speak to anyone and then when you finally get a person, they don't speak English and can't understand you. Even when I got Monique in the complaint department, she says it's not her problem, it's Enterprise's problem, and she is acting as their agent. And, during the two hours I was on hold, the recorded message kept saying I was important to them and they are happy to be a family run business. Guess they live in Central America, because that's where all my calls ended up. Call a reliable company. Don't call Enterprise. read more

Do not go to go to this location useless you want to wait. Usually I am very impressed with the customer service but not this time. Customer service rep was rude and I could tell was flustered. He could not find our reservation in the system even when I had my confirmation email in front of him. He then told me the wait would be 2 hours from my reservation time. After not much effort he told us to check hertz and sent us away. Hertz was more than accommodating and even offered us a discount. I will not return to this location of enterprise after the ride customer service. I will take my business elsewhere. We rent a car about 20 times a year. read more

They politely suggested an upgrade which suited me well. When I unexpectedly got claustrophic after getting seated in the smaller-than-expected sports car interior, they promptly and efficiently and with a smile, gave me a great alternative car at the same price. We have rented from these folks a number of times. The customer service is excellent and the cars are in very good condition. They are very good at picking you up at the time you requested. The prices are good. The only drawback might be that sometimes their selection of cars can be limited because its a small office. But we would recommend them to anyone. read more
