I have 2 affenpinschers, one of them is easy, he loves everyone and doesn't mind being brushed and groomed. The other one is a different story, he is diabetic and blind and doesn't even let me brush him without growling and wanting to attack the hairbrush. So finding a place that would be able to work with him and give him a successful grooming was my challenge . The girls at the groomers were great with him! The attention and care they gave my pups was amazing. He was comfortable and well taken care of and his haircut came out great . I would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a new place to bring their fur babies.

Instead, the groomer completely shaved him without calling us or asking for permission. Anyone experienced with this breed should know that Collies should never be shaved. Their double coat is essential for protection against weather, brush, and sun exposure. It also helps regulate their temperature year-round. Our dog is an outdoor farm dog, and his coat plays a critical role in his daily life. Since bringing him home, his behavior has completely changed. He is now reluctant to go outside in the rain and cold, which is very unlike him. Previously, we could barely get him to come inside. We are now deeply concerned about his comfort, sun exposure, and risk of overheating as the weather gets warmer. We took him to the veterinarian following this incident, and they were shocked. They explained that shaving a Collie can cause long-term coat damage, as the undercoat often grows back faster than the outer coat, resulting in uneven, patchy regrowth that may never fully recover. Unfortunately, we've experienced this before with another Collie due to an inexperienced groomer, which makes this situation even more upsetting. When we contacted the owner to express our concerns, the response was incredibly disappointing. There was no empathy or accountability. She stated she expected our call, laughed at our concerns, and even claimed she knew more than our veterinarian. We are devastated by this experience and would strongly caution others especially owners of double-coated breeds to be very clear about expectations and to choose a groomer with proven breed-specific knowledge.

Our previous dog, Honey, had major surgery and couldn't be groomed for almost 5 month. When we called and spoke with Buffy she was so compassionate and took Honey in and groomed her with such care...as if she were her own. Honey looked beautiful and was so proud of herself! Now we have Molly and she absolutely loves everyone there. she always looks adorable when we pick her up. Yes, we do drop her off early and usually get a call to pick her up a few hours later but it takes time to correctly wash and groom a dog. As far as the cost...I think it's about average for a perfect grooming done exactly as we request. I would definitely recommend Four Paws to everyone...and I do. Kudos to Buffy, Mario and Rhonda!

The photo is of Lady the day after, still looking so lovely. Alisha updated me a couple times throughout the day to let me know how things were going. Lady is nearly 13 and not used to being away from her mommy, so it was comforting to know she was happy and relaxed. Lady's hair is still super soft, she smells great, and the pretty bling clip is in place. While I'm able to take care of Lady at home, I will definitely bring her in to Alisha and her crew for a "spa day" again. It's a less stressful experience for Lady (and for mommy!)
