Shortly after moving to the area, I had to go out of town for a few days. Being new to the area, I hadn't established a relationship with anyone I felt comfortable asking to cat sit for me. So I took to the Internet to find a local cat sitter. I was a little uneasy finding someone online and having to give him/her access to my home for days while I was out of town, but I didn't know what other option I had. I found lots of dog walkers, but few service providers dedicated to cats... and the one or two I did find, did not respond to my inquiries. Then I ran across Cat's Pajamas Inn. The reviews were all positive, but I was still hesitant to board my cat away from home. I decided to give them a call and check out the place. Patty, the proprietor, was very responsive and accommodating. The place was clean. The "rooms" seemed cat-friendly, and Patty seemed to really care about her guests. She makes sure all the cats are vaccinated and is accommodating of their needs and schedules. She also gives each guest time to roam around outside his/her pen. Patty really made me feel comfortable that my cat would be well cared for. While I was away, Patty was responsive to email, and when I returned, my kitty seemed unaffected by the stay. I've used the service 4 or 5 times since, and things have gone smoothly every time. There always seems to be 4 or 5 other cats in there, which makes me feel better than leaving my cat home alone with just a short visit by a cat sitter. I was super lucky that I found The Cat's Pajamas Inn and Patty, a wonderful, caring person for Soirse. Patty is my new "cat whisperer" - my girl is super shy and Patty made her feel comfortable. Don't know how, but she was! I had to travel abroad recently and was really worried (well, about everything) but the one thing I didn't worry about was the care and attention that Patty took in both the kind way that my Soirse's needs and any special conditions were looked after, the professionalism of making sure that all shots are current - I knew Soirse would be in a safe place. Patty has so much expertise in making her guest comfortable - beautiful accommodations, easy to travel to and super easy to communicate with, very responsive and timely. As one expects, travel was disruptive and we had to change our plans, and Patty was so accomodating and a wonderful person. She genuinely cares about her clients (both 4 legged and 2 legged). Being super anxious (first time bording Soirse) I was put so much at ease - contacted Patty from abroad and instantly knew Soirse was with the right person. I have the highest regard for Patty McNamara and The Cat's Pajamas Inn! I recently boarded my cat, Santana, for the first time for an extended stay with Patty. Santana is an older cat with medical needs so I was worried about how he would do away from home. Patty quickly allayed all my fears. It was clear from the onset that she loves cats and is compassionate and caring. She has a deep understanding of cats and their behaviors. Because we have an old diabetic cat who needs insulin shots twice a day, it's hard to leave her when we go on vacation. Spur of the moment weekends are dictated as to whether we can board her or not. The Cat's Pajamas Inn is a wonderful place. Each cat (it's only for cat's - no dogs) has it's own living space. An area for food, an area for litter, and 2 little areas to play and sleep. Much better than boarding at the vet (we did once, she got fleas and was in a small space). The animals can look out the windows at the birds and they seem quite content. For me, it's a great deal for $20 - the only problem is that it's about 30 minutes away. It's a wonderful place though. read more

I was so lucky the find Patty and the The Cat's Pajamas Inn for my two boys. We have two 7 year old cats and have never been separated from them. We were selling our home and had to vacate for six days. I called Patty and asked a million questions. Patty was so kind and patient with me. We ended up boarding them with Patty for seven days and Patty gave me status reports twice daily on how the boys were doing and adjusting. She is so honest and sincere I knew she was taking excellent care of them. I was able to relax knowing my babies were safe and well cared for and loved. I was actually afraid they wouldn't remember me but again Patty was as kind and patient with me as she is with all her feline guests. When you go in to the Inn Patty will introduce you to all the guests and she knows each one and their very special personalities. When we picked the boys up they were happy to see us and when we got home after smelling around for a few minutes they were right back in their normal routine and totally unaffected by their time away. We left Bear, our Maine Coon cat, with Patty for a month while we were traveling abroad. I was nervous to leave her with anybody because I was afraid she wouldn't have enough space or attention, but with Patty she had plenty of space to move around, time outside of her pen to play everyday and TONS of attention and affection. While I was very sad to leave Bear, it was immediately clear to me that Patty is a person that loves cats, and genuinely cares about them being happy and comfortable. Bear is a nervous cat and had some trouble adjusting at first, and Patty went above and beyond searching out special litter and trying out different varieties of food to get her to relax and feel at home. I really appreciated that she kept me aware of everything going on, and I came home to a very happy and healthy cat that honestly did not seem to want to leave with us. I moved to Boston in April of 2008 with my then 13 year old cat Molly. When I moved, I didn't even think about who would watch Molly when I traveled (and I would come to travel a lot for business). I am so grateful that I found the cat's pajamas inn! Patty has taken wonderful care of Molly every time I have had to travel. The inn is clean an well kept - only 9 or 10 cats can stay at a time so its never crowded and they each have their own "cat condo." As Molly has been a frequent visitor, she always gets the same condo near the little stove. Each cat gets time out every day to "play" in the common area. For Molly that means sitting under the sink or in the comfy chair! There were also times when I had to leave Molly for extended periods - I believe she really grew to love Patty and it made the times I had to be away from Molly less stressful. I was very lucky to find the Cat's Pajamas Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone needing a warm, loving place for their cat to stay, whether for a night, a week or a month. read more

We've been taking our two kitties to the Cat's Pajamas for years now, and really can't imagine a better place for them to be when we're out of town. Patty is everything one could hope for in a catsitter - she's very attentive to each cat's needs, she responds right away to emails and phonecalls, and she just loves each of her feline guests. She'll also go well beyond normal catsitting duties when necessary: a few days into our last trip, one of our cats wouldn't eat, and clearly wasn't feeling well - after checking with us, she took the cat to our vet (a 20 minute drive away) and got him checked out. This turned out to be really important for our cat's health, and we were able to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing he was in excellent and caring hands. We've left our cat, Matty, with Patty for 2 months in 2016 and for 4 days in December 2017. Both times Patty provided extraordinary care for him. Yes, I will plagiarize and describe The Cat's Pajama's Inn as, to use Patty's own adjective, "Purrfect"! I grin as I read Yelp reviews of the Cat's Pajamas Inn since I share the other authors' favorable impressions. Lily, our Siamese, could sense when she was to be cared for away from home and did not hesitate to express her displeasure. That changed, however, once we happened upon Patty and the Cat's Pajama's Inn! We found the Cat's Pajama's Inn quite by accident. Having moved to the Boston region from the Cape, we did not know where to start to look for help. We were willing to return to caretakers on the Cape only to be disappointed by price, distance and a degree of rather obvious neglect. Our good fortune was about to change, when aided by a Google search, we found The Cat's Pajama's Inn. The Inn is conveniently located off Route 95/128 in Wakefield. Scheduling a reservation at the Inn was easy and Patty was and continued to be very accommodating. On our first visit, the delightful Inn Keeper, Patty, greeted us. She quickly escorted us into a suite of condos. The room was impeccable with year round temperature control. In the background, there was (and always continued to be) classical ambient music. Each condo consisted of a spacious homemade split-level cage with four floors. No cat would suffer from claustrophobia and much less from neglect! Our Lily returned repeatedly to visit Patty whom she befriended. She, in fact, looked forward to Patty. Lily never expressed displeasure again. Lily had stayed at the Inn for visits as short as a few days to as much as a couple of months. A stay at the Inn was modestly priced. We no longer have Lily, but what good fortune was ours to have stumbled upon this little known gem. I enthusiastically recommend this Inn for those who love their cats and are concerned for their well being during periods of owner absence. We were relocating to Boston but could not be in our new place for 2 weeks, and couldn't have our 3 cats stay in our temporary digs. So all three cats stayed with Patty at the Cat's Pajamas Inn. I was nervous about it, as I had never boarded my animals. They were incredibly well cared for. I cannot say enough about Patty. She called me every few days to update me on how the cats were doing. She took the time to prepare and understand the temperament of each of our cats, and put them in particular condos because of it, one is particularly shy, so Patty put her to the side away from the others. Patty is just lovely, and my cats were in wonderful shape and seem completely happy and content upon arrival into their new home. I could not be more enthusiastic about referring Patty. Sometimes she would initiate correspondence to let me know something was happening (hair ball up chuck) or to ask a question (can I give them soft food more often).
