I would strongly discourage you from bringing a beloved pet here. Unfortunately, we brought our…read moredog here many times without asking too many questions when they would keep her for 9 hours (even when she was the first dropped off), or she would come back with nicks and what looked like sores and bite marks (either from rough handling or improper protection from other dogs), and she would be so unbelievably thirsty and weak when she returned home--finally, everything just added up to paint a very negative picture of the place.
Antone's is actually pretty attractive at first glance--cute, pink, and kitschy. One of the groomers there, Arden, seems like a very friendly lady. There is another lady who grooms there, though (whom may be the owner), who seems to have anger issues that she takes out on the dogs. We walked in after waiting 9 hours for the pickup call, and our dog, seeing us walk in, turned her head to look at us and began wagging her tail. The lady grooming her, not realizing we had walked in, grabbed my dog roughly and screamed in her face to stand still (at top volume, mind you, at my timid, well-behaved dog). When we inquired about the wait and asked whether the dog had been given water (she always came home a bit weak and dehydrated), the lady became downright combative, waving scissors around, screaming in our faces, handling the dog roughly, and telling us that she loves dogs and would never mistreat them. When I calmly told her that I didn't want trouble, but that I feel that it's fair to ask her these simple questions about my dog, since she is gone for so long, she screamed that I was a brat at such a high volume that my dog backed herself into the corner.
There was absolutely no cause for the treatment we received at this establishment, especially after being patient, friendly customers for many years, and always tipping well, dropping off our dog as early as requested, and picking her up as late as necessary (heck, even if we had been demanding customers, we would certainly have deserved more professional treatment). I now am so angry at myself for the worst part of this whole thing: I stayed with them for too long and allowed my good dog to suffer unknown trials at the hands of these people. Later, after talking to others, I found that there were similar complaints about Antoine's. I strongly encourage you not to bring your much-loved pet here; it's just not worth the risk when there are plenty of other groomers out there with better dispositions and reputations.
