My dad passed away August 30th and we were told it would take 8 weeks to have his plaque created and installed. Months go by and I reach out to them - they LOST the photo, lost the instructions... we provide another photo and instructions - another several weeks to get a proof and it's wrong - with only name and DOB/DOD and where to place, you'd think they could get it right. Finally have the proof approved and we're told ANOTHER 2 weeks to receive. I AGAIN have to follow up - oh it arrived this week, give us 7 days to install and we'll contact you. 10 days later, I've reached out AGAIN - it is now nearly 8 MONTHS later. Their incompetence is alarming. I wish we had requested to be there when they placed his body in the mausoleum - if they can't get a simple digital plaque ready... There is no amount of money that can pay her for the attentiveness, compassion, love, and care that she showed my family during the most difficult time that we had to face. Promote and retain Meghan at all costs as she is an invaluable asset to this team!! We used Groover for my father's service, and from the beginning the entire staff were great and easy to work with. Meeting with Tabitha at the beginning, she walked us through everything, the packages and advised us on what we should be thinking about. The day of the event, we had ordered some food, the greeters were so accommodating and helpful, to every single touch they did helped make the day special. The display with all of our father's favorite things was so thoughtful and impactful, the give aways of tennis balls that were so thoughtful and considerate to the receptionist, every time we dropped something off or picked something up was so friendly and welcoming. It is never fun to plan a funeral and the team at Groover in Ellenton just made a difficult time special and easier to manage. read more

We recently used Groover's for my mother's arrangements. The experience was awful. We were treated abruptly and as if we were an inconvenience. We sat 25 minutes past our appointment time waiting for our planner on our initial meeting. There was no support or guidance from our planner. I called numerous times and sent numerous emails with no response. When my children arrived to set up for the visitation the casket was on the metal cart-- no skirt. When they asked about it they were told it could not be fixed because it took three people to lift the casket-- so my kids helped make it more presentable. They arrived late to the church so instead of displaying hundreds of dollars worth of flowers sent for her- we looked at old wilted flowers on the altar during her service. Not the same business as 11 years ago when used for my father. This is the first negative review I have ever posted. One star is only so the review will posted. Our funeral director Michelle was fantastic! she assisted mom and I through the difficult process of my fathers passing. The entire staff were very professional and compassionate. Special thanks to the grounds keepers they had everything set up on time and because it was 85 degrees they supplied us with cold drinking water. They were very busy that day, but they told us to take our time they were there for us! read more

The property is gorgeous, but why don't you have an easy to find map on your website? Not everybody can go during working hours to visit a friend or loved one. Telling somebody to go look in the "devotion feature" or "near tier 1" or "near the rock garden" is all useless info w/out a MAP. The lady on the phone told me "East" side of cemetery! Why THANK YOU!!! That's very helpful in a giant cemetery with 1,000+ graves!!! Isn't this just common sense? read more
