Our children actually enjoy their dental cleanings (they consistently share that Dr. Smith's Dental Hygienist has such a gentle touch and leaves their teeth feel 'squeaky clean'). I made an appointment for a consultation and was able to be seen quickly, however that appointment had to be rescheduled and the delay for that appointment was quite lengthy. Once I arrived to the office I was not seen immediately. It didn't appear there was a dental emergency. just more appointments that there were hands in mouth. I finally was taken back to a well used exam room and subsequent trip to x-ray as I was a new patient. To this point, my review was a solid 3 stars at best. Then I finally met Dr. Elliott. I was very, very impressed with his interpretation of what I was going thru and we did have a few candid moments of proposed treatment which in all honesty I was expecting. Now I am on the wait list to get another appointment. Sigh, honestly, this is a first for me, being put on a wait list, so like in the airlines, if I don't get cleared for a seat, I'll have to go to "plan B".

Because I wanted to go to church on Sunday, I used dental glue to put them back on the partial. I did pretty good, but they just weren't quite right. I called ThoroughDent Smiles and got an appointment with my dentist who I had seen before, Dr. Neda. She thought I had glued them back together pretty good, but I explained to her that they were really old, and I was interested in getting a new partial depending on cost and whether I had to use that goop to do the impression. She told me about a different way they do partials, where they don't use the metal, but a plastic that is not rigid. And it would be cheaper than the metal kind. And they could do the x-ray instead of the goop! I said sign me up! They did the x-ray thing, and I didn't even gag, because they told me a special tip about putting salt on the back of your tongue-and you don't gag. It works, so now I carry salt in my car, but they have some there if you need it. Special shout out to Reagan who was the assistant who was very kind and patient! Dr. Neda was so kind and told me that I would probably hate the partial at first and then I would love it. She was right in that the first time I put it in, it hurt a little and then when we tried to get it back out, I thought they were going to have to climb up on the chair with me with pliers to remove them. They worked on it a little and soon they were not a problem, and I love them! With my old partial, I was very self-conscious and felt like the teeth were a little too big and would never smile with my whole mouth. Now they are so natural looking, you would never know they are not my teeth. They did an excellent job matching the color and I can now smile with my whole mouth!!! Another shout out to Keri who helped me with my follow-up appointment. We had a great talk. And I can't stop without giving a shout out to the ladies working at the front desk who are always friendly and willing to explain everything and help you out. From the super friendly front desk, ease of scheduling (I gmail-ed with the scheduler back and forth), comfy chairs and engaging staff, my experience here has been pretty great. I think my favorite part is the emphasis in engaging and teaching the patients. We know you're supposed to brush your teeth and floss but both the hygienist and Dr. Tran took the time to sit and explain everything to me.
