As the Mother Church, it is one of the oldest in the area, and helped give birth to 132 other Lutheran parishes. Even now, it has a special place, and is still considered to be the most famous, and one of the most important. Most local Lutherans have heard of it, many have visited, and schoolchildren take field trips during Advent, Lent, and confirmation. Aside from its landmark status, it functions very well as a parish. It is traditional, but not ultra orthodox, so everyone feels comfortable. Its central location means that it has members from all over. And, there are always lots of different activities and events to keep people involved.

Lord knows God is sitting in Heaven with a green accounting hat making sure you paid your 10%. She even took classes at this church. A couple years back her mother passed away and she asked the church to allow her to do a service and the repast as they usually do for members. The church sent some pastor over on a Friday night. He told my wife they would have to determine if she was a member and that would take until Tuesday to figure out. (Even though I THINK the church is open on Sunday). Her family was flying in on Wednesday, so she was really pressed for time. She ended up doing the service and repast at her cousin's church. This church cashed my wife's checks for 20 plus years but when the time came that my wife needed the comfort of her home church these devils somehow couldn't figure out if she was a member. Lucky for that demon, I wasn't home at the time because I'd have told him off and maybe more. You're not going to find salvation at this church. They just want to make sure pastor Butler can put gas in his yacht and enjoy his mansions. They ain't helping anyone but themselves.

They preach right from wrong always and do not waver! Such was the situation. I felt completely unsafe. This church is 100% not following covid regulations. Great, there's a hand sanitizer machine in the lobby, but other than that, very little precaution was taken. I counted maybe three people wearing masks, and one lady, who I guessed to be in her eighties - I heard her almost apologizing to people that she was protecting herself. people were also seated just too close together. A few pews were roped off here and there, as a mere formality, as everyone else in the remaining pews was crammed together. As far as the church service, I felt it was a meeting of the mutual adoration society. Any Scripture reading was limited to the last 10 minutes, which was just a couple of lines taken from here and there in the pastor didn't seem to be able to connect them. Everyone seemed friendly, so I won't give them one star only, but if you really want to go somewhere to hear the word of God in a meaningful way, look elsewhere. If you just like to sing (um, I thought that was a covid no to sing as a group?) and say "Amen," well, maybe it's for you.

It's a small, quaint, older church. Nice wood pews, but connected by duct tape. I was here for a memorial service for my best friend's brother's passing recently. The pastor is soft spoken, but gets his messaging out. The priest is chilled and seems cool, speaks from his heart and without a sheet for reference. Super in-tuned and attentive. Service was about 40+ minutes. The fellowship space is decent, enough space for 4 longer tables. Long tables to serve the food. The bathrooms are on the first floor. A bit odd the door for the women's was left open though.
