This church is massive. It definitely deserves the name of a shrine…read more The altar is in the center of the church and the pews all jet out from every end of this central altar. You can definitely see the altar at any seat in the building, even upstairs on the balcony. The only difficulty is if you're not facing the main altar, as the priest often will face out one way. The church is the most beautiful during Christmas. It's always well decorated and filled with poinsettias and Garland, streamers and lights everywhere. The other downside of this church is that it's so massively huge, but it does not feel warm and welcoming. I will often go to this church for Easter and Christmas, because if it's close proximity to my house. For regular Sunday visits I will often go to other smaller churches, that feel more comfortable and cozy. Still every time I'm inside of this church in a few, I'm always struck and in all of the interior design and structure of this Shrine.

However, working with Gabriella was quite unpleasant. She seemed irritated from the beginning and we never felt like we were welcome with her. She seemed annoyed when she found out that someone in the wedding party was in a wheelchair. She didn't make an attempt to learn names. I understand there are a lot moving parts to coordinating the wedding, but she could at least try to be more pleasant. Overall, the wedding was beautiful, but her bad attitude could use improvement.

He also told parents, from the pulpit, that if they catch their boys playing with their sisters dolls, they should teach them to burn the dolls. This is not the first violent message from Pastor Tracy that I have heard. I once heard him rejoice when 300 Muslims were killed in a tragic accident in Mecca in 2013. I heard him brag that he would like to run over protesters with his car. When I was a member as a teen, I heard him joke about hitting his wife, and encourage his children to bash other children's heads in with bricks from the pulpit. I was sad and horrified to learn that he has not changed his violent messaging. If you are the kind of Christian who wants to see anyone you disagree with (including children) beaten and killed, I guess EMBC is the church for you. If you are the kind of Christian who wants to follow Jesus and love your neighbor as yourself, try elsewhere.

They preach right from wrong always and do not waver! THEY ARE VERY CLEAR WHAT WE ALL NEED IS --- Romans 10 9:10-13 -- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Such was the situation. I felt completely unsafe. This church is 100% not following covid regulations. Great, there's a hand sanitizer machine in the lobby, but other than that, very little precaution was taken. I counted maybe three people wearing masks, and one lady, who I guessed to be in her eighties - I heard her almost apologizing to people that she was protecting herself. people were also seated just too close together. A few pews were roped off here and there, as a mere formality, as everyone else in the remaining pews was crammed together. As far as the church service, I felt it was a meeting of the mutual adoration society. Any Scripture reading was limited to the last 10 minutes, which was just a couple of lines taken from here and there in the pastor didn't seem to be able to connect them. Everyone seemed friendly, so I won't give them one star only, but if you really want to go somewhere to hear the word of God in a meaningful way, look elsewhere. If you just like to sing (um, I thought that was a covid no to sing as a group?) and say "Amen," well, maybe it's for you.

Many churches can be, cavernous, awe inspiring, but there's no other church that's ever given me a feeling of calm, warmth and community than this church. I grew up in this church, went to catechism, had my baptism here, communion, confirmation here and was married here as well. Participated in many joint oyster fests with Tom's Oyster bar too. The priest that I first met is still there today, along with the deacon. Father Tim Pelis the coolest priest I have ever met, he's very much about the times and transcends generation and is loved by the congregation from 0-100+. Father Tim was the cool priest that would use a plastic toy gun to shot holy water at his parishioners at a drive-thru during Covid. They have a FB page for followers to get updates on activities with the church. It's a really integrated community church. I have never felt so much a part of church as this one, it's my favorite Catholic Church I have ever set foot in. They are offering Lenten carry out meals this month until April 2nd. They offer video streamed masses online. Archives of the bulletin are available online as well. They also offer great space at the Ark for whatever wedding, party venues too.
