I was required to come in often for eye pressure checks something that takes less than 3 minutes but was consistently spending over 1.5 hours in their office. The vast majority would be in a waiting room but I've often had an exam room lights turn off for waiting so long! Usually no apology was offered on wait times either. I was explained he was the only doctor and he was getting help hiring another person to help lilighten the load though she isn't a ophthalmologist. While she was fairly kind in comparison to Dr. Grossman, wait times never changed! Once, Dr. Grossman came into my exam room complaining another patient had eaten that morning so he had to reschedule the surgery and how dare they not be cognizant of others time. I literally laughed our loud! He asked what was funny then I kindly pointed out it's funny he thinks that person should care for others time when i had been waiting about an hour and fifteen minutes at that point. This office needs better time management skills and more eye care specialists to help handle their schedule. I'm happy I've found another location that can do my pressure checks so I can finally cut ties here. read more

That place is a joke. Always over scheduling patients. Making patients wait for a long time to be seen. I really had a bad experience.

took my mom for her appointment at 10:45 she was called back at 11:15 checked her eyes then told us to wait in the waiting room waited over an hour to check the pressure of her eyes still not calling in now it's 12:45 and still haven't been called had to miss her dentist appointment since i am her care give so took them 2 hours 54 mins to check her eyes do better people thats a long time waiting to be seen mom is 76 year old come on make a better appointment system taking her somewhere else from now on doc are good but the waiting time is ridiculous read more

Dr. Grossman is great. I would be blind without his expert replacement of cataracts in both of my eyes. He is extremely busy and I think lately is not accepting new patients. His is the only Ophthalmologist in Merced and has done thousands of cataract surgeries. It's easy to take affront at the number of patients and sometimes long waits, but like any other doctor I've been to you have to participate and not expect him to offer all the answers before you ask them. read more

Definitely never coming back. We were left in waiting room and saw people get called back into rooms before we did. we waited for over an hour. we arrived timely and were still left waiting. We weren't provided an update as to what the delay was and was essentially ignored in the lobby. The staff was having a great time chuckling and laughing it up amongst themselves, which is great and all, however, they should have check up on us and let us know what the holdup was. Apparently, the gal that used to work there is no longer there anyway so it's time that we go elsewhere and maybe work on finding her. Grossman and associates has gone down the toilet. My family and I had gone here for years.... but that has come to an end effective immediately. on a neutral note: when we left, I asked the gal up front for a refund for the appointment as we were leaving. she asked why and we responded that we had waited for over an hour she obliged and issued the refund and offered no apology or alternative. I took an extended lunch from work to make it to the appointment and God knows how much longer we would have been waiting. Never again, Grossman and co. our business is deserved elsewhere so FO. If i were you... I would definitely go elsewhere this is not first or second time that this has happened. beware! read more

my mother is 93 and they were over booked as usual. People standing out side waiting to get in. People with walkers and wheelchairs waiting. What a mess! Why is the office ALWAYS so full? Why the overbooking? Why make people wait two hours for a 20 minute appointment? Not right! She has been seeing this guy for years but its always a LONG wait! Nobody should be treated like that, just wrong! can you please care about your patients a bit more? read more

I am hesitant to post a bad review because I am aware of the consequences for a business for one person's bad experience, but I honestly left this office very upset. First of all, the office staff is great! All the ladies are very friendly and helpful. However, I did not have a great experience after 5 visits. He appears to be consistently overbooked which doesn't leave him much time to thoroughly explain what's going on. On my second visit, I had to ask him for the results of a test done at my first visit. He asked the assistant for the results which turned out to be "chronic". If he would not have been asked, he would have never addressed it. He prescribed a treatment for 4 weeks and then I was to come back to see if it worked. He did not explain how the treatment worked or how often I was to administer it and he left before I had a chance to ask any questions. At my last appointment (the 4 week mark), I asked if glasses would help my issue and was told by him that they would not because at my age I would lose my glasses because they did not fit into my "body image." Wait, what?? So I asked him to suppose that I was a responsible adult and I wouldn't lose them. He then told me that they wouldn't work because I wouldn't wear them. Keep in mind that I have no history with this doctor for him to assume such things about me personally. And honestly even if I do lose them, ultimately why does that matter to him? I would just have to pay for more...or just forget about them altogether because I wasn't wearing anyway. As he was abruptly leaving the room, I let him know that I had a question. He returned to the room and allowed me to ask my question. At this point, I am confused because I don't know if I'm supposed to come back again because he hasn't mentioned anything about the 4 week treatment. He looked at me and said that it didn't work. I asked how he knew and he said because I told the assistant that nothing changed. I attempted to explain that the "chronic" condition I had felt normal to me so I wasn't exactly sure what I should have been looking for. I honestly thought they would just run the same test from the first visit to actually have numerical evidence as to whether or not it was working, not solely based on my word. NOPE! I asked him if I should continue the treatment and he condescendingly said, "I can see you're a person who likes to do things that don't work." I explained to him that I was just trying to see if there was anything I could do because I didn't understand where we were after 5 visits. I am upset that I continued to go back, but I was hoping for some answers or at least an explanation. Again, I want to reiterate this is just my personal experience. His office was always full so I don't believe he's treating everyone the way he treated me. I would just advise that if you are a person who asks questions or would like to understand what is going on, then I would not come here. I definitely will not be going back. The sad part is I don't even live in the area, but I heard he was really good so I drove quite a long way for my visits. read more

He performed surgery on both of my eyes and it couldn't have gone any better. Although he seems almost overly confident, that is probably what you would want in a surgeon. It was obvious he had performed this procedure a thousand other times before me. Thanks again. If you can read this review, take my advice, he is the best in town. read more

what a joke. took my mother in on a Wednesday for a 2:00 appt which happens to be surgery day..there were 15 patients ahead of us and finally a gal told us he wasn't done with surgery. most of the people waiting were elderly. it's a shame that a doctor feels he needs to pack his office like a sardine can. greed ..dr grossman your weak. your staff is excellent you yourself well not at all. read more
