Not far south of Providence, right on the water, with a good 30k people or so living here, including one of my best friends from college. Amazing food around here, very unique. What a wonderful corner of America this is. Not cheap, in fact quite expensive, but gorgeous, right by the water, lots of boats, and somewhere I'd consider living myself.

There were also a whole bunch of drag queens & singers performing throughout the event, & they were all so much fun to watch. There were tons of vendors set up where you could shop, along w/ a bunch of free giveaways, which I always love! The whole event had such a fun, welcoming vibe, & I really enjoyed myself. Everyone who attended looked so happy & free!! I'll def be back next year!

I think it's wonderful that they hosts an event like this for the community. There was something for everyone, from local vendors and food trucks to activities, entertainment, and community organizations. Every vendor I stopped by was friendly, approachable, and happy to chat. One of the biggest highlights was seeing Alyssa Edwards perform. She's such a great entertainer, and it brought my sister so much joy to see her in person. It was exciting to have such a well known performer as part of a local community event. I also appreciated all of the free giveaways, including stickers, flags, and helpful community resources etc. Overall, the event was well organized, inclusive, and community focused. My sister and I had such a great time that we were already talking about coming back next year before the festival was even over.

This is a 2-sided marker from the CT Historical Commission in the familiar white lettering on a…read moreblue background, The lettering is the same on both sides. I love the location of the marker- right in front of Town Hall between two sidewalks, mailboxes and a bicycle rack. I love the idea that so many people walk by it every day to learn something about their town. Some of the markers I see are way off the beaten path, on a random street (example? Stonington). The marker is in good condition with easy to read lettering. It summarizes the history of the town from it's 1646 settlement and Massachusetts Puritan roots, its spin-off from New London 60 years later, and a great piece of trivia- that Groton was the site of one of the final battles of the American Revolution. On a more contemporary note, it talks about Groton's importance to the submarine industry. The marker reads: As a part of New London Plantation, Groton was settled in 1646 by John Winthrop, the younger, and a band of Puritans from Massachusetts. The town separated from New London in 1705, and was named for the Winthrop manor in England. One of the last battles of the American Revolution was fought on Groton Heights at Fort Griswold, September 6, 1781. The Groton Monument commemorates the battle. A state park now preserves the fort area. Groton is the site of the Submarine Base of the United States Navy, and home of the builder of much of the Navy's undersea fleet. It is the birthplace of the nuclear submarine. Erected by the Town of Groton, the Groton American Revolution Bicenntennial Committee and the Connecticut Historical Commission 1976

In memory of Andrew…read moreand Billy The Clinton Town Hall was built back in 1936 with money donated by William Stanton Andrews. It is a lovely building in a great location that is a pleasure to visit. The inside has an absolutely gorgeous marble lobby with gold crown molding and several huge fountains that are extremely cool. A beautiful red tail stag is in the entrance of the main lobby and was donated in 1978 by Sturges Redfield. The stag was carved in Europe and has been in his family for over a century. Pretty impressive critter. The Town hall also contains the Clinton Historical Society Museum Room that has different exhibits of local history and the building also contains 5 working fireplaces and a 450 seat auditorium. Quite an impressive place. One thing that is missing are the kitties. For years the Town Hall had a lovely and friendly cat named Andrew but he eventually got old and passed on. He was replace by Billy, a rather plump but lovable feline that that also ended up leaving this world. I have heard they aren't going to get any new cats which is a shame. Being greating by Andrew or Billy was always a treat. The Clinton Town Hall is a cool place even without the kitties. A interesting place to pay taxes or do tedious government stuff. Everyone here is always friendly and will go out of their way to help. They even have some beautiful river views from the back and a kayak and canoe ramp by the dock. A very cool town hall that has so many cool and interesting things to do and look at.

Town of Wallingford is located in New Haven county with approximately 44,000 residents. The town…read morewas created in 1667; so much history! It was the site of the last witch trial in 1697. They also have their own electricity provider which is pretty uncommon in Connecticut. Most of Connecticut is provided with electricity by the company Eversource. There are many industries located within the town, providing diverse employment options. When I went exploring the town, I found it very historic and charming. It's hilly and had quite a bit going on; restaurants, bars, vineyards, breweries, etc. I really enjoyed walking through the historic Center Street Cemetery. The library is one of the nicest libraries I've been to. Walking around downtown was enjoyable; plenty of sidewalks and it's pedestrian friendly. Overall, a fun town to explore and can't wait to go back.

The countryside is filled with small towns like Wallingford. Most of my Wallingford Tour was by truck. Jim has a comfortable truck complete with electric to charge my phone while I view the area in and around Wallingford. I saw new buildings that are beautiful design like the library. My favorite buildings are the historic buildings most of which now have been repurposed. I especially like the old train station. I saw barns, horses, cows, chickens and tractors! Old Factory Buildings are beautiful to see too. The homes look so inviting some with porches out front with rocking chairs on them. I felt like singing 'Little Pink Houses'! I did take a walk in the neighborhood. I took some photos. The drive didn't allow photos since it was drive by without the shooting (photo shooting that is!) A motorcycle tour makes my stay complete. A peaceful quiet retreat from hectic city life was certainly welcome. If you see my activity you'll see the seafood is fresh and delicious in this part of the country. Wallingford and the surrounding area have a lot to offer. Just remember you better have money for gas because you'll drive a lot! Everywhere you go in fact! I like the country for a vacation to rest. I think I feel more independent in the city. Sitting in a motor vehicle is too confining. I would definitely return to Wallingford and surrounding towns for relaxation, beautiful atmosphere, friendly people, and delicious food! Thanks Jim C. for sharing the town you love so much with me! Some people may not see the Town Hall as a business, but it is…read more North Providence has their own traffic tribunal if you need to dispute a ticket or pay a fee. It's only held about twice a month, and it's very different than RITT if you've been there. I have had the disfortunte of going to both. RITT is very formal, while NPTH is very... well, informal as far as these things go. Expect to pay your ticket, along with court fees, as the judge does not often waive any. Remember, North Providence has their own court, there's probably a reason for that. As far as paying for your fees/tickets/etc, please be advised, there is a 7.50$ fee if you pay via credit card. They don't accept cash. Checks are your friends. Get there early, you'll get better parking that way.

Noah Webster was born and raised there. Two high schools serves the area; Conard and Hall. The school system is highly ranked in the state and nation. There are many things to do; shopping, museums, hiking, etc. It is a family friendly town with many community events. Neighboring towns also offer a wide array of activities. The location is convenient to many popular destinations, about two hours to New York City, Boston, and Providence. We were looking to purchase property in this town because it is a desirable place to live all around. The only downfall was, the housing prices were astronomical; bang for the buck was not there for us. However, we live close enough to enjoy the amenities We-Ha has to offer and we are there quite often!

Sure you have a middle and senior age population that lives here, but if you are a young adult, looking to live the happy medium lifestyle of suburban meets metropolitan, then West Hartford is the town for you! This is a place for Young Urban Professionals. When I think of West Hartford I think of Grad Students (Masters, Doctorate and Post-Doctoral) and new-to-the-field professionals such as Lawyers, Doctors, management/upper management, personal accountants and other prestigious jobs that recent college grads have been hired into. 2.) What your eyes may see: Depending what town line you live closest to, generally the neighborhood depicts the environment you'll be living in. For example, if you live on, around or nearest to the town line of West Hartford and Farmington or Avon, you will be in the type of environment that is typical of the town of Farmington or Avon. Which could mean, higher affluence and less crime. Another example is if you live on, around or nearest to the town line of West Hartford and Hartford, you will be in the type of environment that is typical of the city of Hartford. Well, I take that back. I guess it all depends what part of Hartford. Some areas of the Hartford line are more affluent with less crime than other parts. Then there's areas such as Park Road and South Quaker where there is a mix between low middle and upper middle class. It can get very intricate. Remember there is a difference between West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square. Granted, Blue Back Square is located in the center of West Hartford, Blue Back Square is considered, in my opinion, a section of the center of West Hartford. Trust me, if you lived in this town, you'd want to know the distinction when meeting up with someone in the center of West Hartford. Here is one example of two people trying to meet up: Person 1: Hey, where are you? Person 2: I'm in West Hartford Center, where are you? Person 1: I'm in the center, too! I've been walking around for 30 minutes. How come I can't find you? Probably because those are separate areas that are located in the center of West Hartford. Even within each area one has to notice that there are many streets as well as businesses that he would have to narrow down before he could make a successful rendezvous. 3.) Extra info: Taxes are higher in this town than in traditional Hartford or East Hartford. Housing and vehicle (property) taxes are higher. Not to mention, the town does not allow vehicles to park on the streets between the time of 2am to 5am unless you call beforehand to the town's police department that you will be having a guest park there for the night. 4.) Impressions: This place is definitely for a younger population. If you lived in an exclusively rural or suburban neighborhood and want a change of pace in lifestyle, come here! There are many bars, clubs, restaurants, and other fun things to do. Plus the people here are cool and hip; however, others are pretentious and conservative. It all depends where you are at the moment.
