Don't walk in thinking you're going to negotiate anything, even with a pre approval they will unnecessarily run your credit without permission and sell you a car and lie about the integrity of the vehicle itself. For example, I asked specifically about the tires to which I was told were "practically new with no issue " and since the tread looked good I believed them. Less than a year later I come to get a patch done due to a nail and Discount tire lets me know someone did "jacked up the last patch that was done" which is now going to cost me well over $200. Disappointed is understatement. I bought my first vehicle on September 19th 2025 and I went through them as a BIG DEALERSHIP, but I was under the impression of everything is good and got warranty for a used car. Just for a week later on September 27th 2025 my car wouldn't want to start and I called about warranty and I was told they don't work on my vehicles brand because it's not a Honda, also told me that maintenance isn't covered by the warranty so now I have to pay for towing, just to come to find out that the battery is very low practically dead, the coolant was also low, and to top it all off the rear breaks & rotors ARE 90% WORN!! Which doesn't seem safe to me. I am aware that getting a used vehicle wouldn't come in perfect condition but having the battery, coolant, and break pads/rotors all failing is not ideal and very important to have a vehicle running. I just fail to see and understand why I have to be paying all this money out of pocket for a vehicle I just got a week ago. read more

Prior to arriving to the location, I called the service center inquiring if a tire was in stock. I was advised over the phone that most common tires are carried in stock and I should have no worries. I disconnected the phone call and made my way towards the dealership. Once I arrived at the dealership, I told the service writer to check my tire size and ensure it was in stock. This service writer told me to wait and it would be two hours before my car would even be seen. After waiting three hours, I was told my tire was not in stock and it could be delivered the next day at 2 PM. The service manager response to this matter was very poor. A little before 4 PM the following day, I was advised that the tires finally arrive, and the work would be started. I did not hear back from the dealership until 5:45 PM telling me that my car was ready the service and the service center closes at 6pm. The service writer lacked communication and there are many areas that desperately need improvements. read more

Received a call from John the manager, very nice gentlemen. Explained what had happened and offered to order the same vehicle for me. I appreciate the follow up and will adjust my review accordingly if the follow through comes through which in this day and age is far and few between but he seemed very sincere and apologized. Put this on GOOGLE first Update : Well if I could do 0 stars now I would so I guess 1 will do, So from what I put at the bottom my car has been there twice now first time i dropped it off on the 10th of May and picked it up on the 16th of May from being worked on and the car shuts off the next day. I then take it back again to be diagnosed cause of the issue and dropped my car off there on the 23rd of May then just picked it up yesterday on the 5th of June and guess what today it shuts off again. So that being said either buy a brand new car or if you're going to get a pre-owned vehicle like I did make sure you get WARRANTY because I wasn't fortunate enough, now a little over 2 months of having this car and it fucking sucks definitely got a Lemon. So I got a used vehicle from this dealership the salesman was friendly only reason why I'm giving 2 stars, first month has passed and my car is already messed up bogging and turning off! Called the dealership service center to be able to run a diagnostic and the person who answered said that they can't do anything because their technicians are only for Hondas!! What purpose does a mechanic serve if he only can work on that specific vehicle brand? Why get vehicles that need work that your mechanics can't service?? We bought a new CR-V Hybrid here recently, and we had a fantastic experience. A family member recommended the salesperson Jeanne Mann to us. Jeanne was immediately responsive, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We told her we would be coming in on a Friday, but we would be under a time constraint due to an obligation that afternoon. I had already test driven another CR-V at a different dealership, so I knew I liked the car and wanted to move forward with one. Jeanne got to work and was able to narrow down vehicles for me and get the majority of the paperwork completed before we even arrived on Friday. When we got there, all we had to do was take the vehicle for a test drive and then sign the paperwork. The finance people (Rema and Don) were also very friendly. Overall, it was a great experience. We live in far North San Antonio, but it was worth the drive to Fernandez Honda for a great price and an easy experience. I really dislike posting a bad review about a place I've loved and done business with since 2008. Fernandez is now a part of "Group 1 Automotive, Inc." which lists "operating efficiencies" as a top goal. It certainly isn't the same honest and trustworthy company it used to be. Take note: all of the awards earned and displayed on their website are from the past. I took my 2008 Honda Accord in as unfortunately it was making the same rattling noises as it did when it was new due to Honda knowingly selling all 2008-2012 Honda Accords with defective variable valve timing control (VTC) actuators. Instead of addressing the issue of the VTC actuator, I received a phone call from Fernandez telling me that my car was almost 2 1/2 quarts low on oil and this was what was causing the noise I was hearing. They strongly suggested that I pay for an oil change before any additional diagnostics be carried out. Of course, as driving around this low on oil couldn't possibly be good for my car, I told them to go ahead and do the oil change. As they had done my previous oil change, I asked them to check the mileage. In 8,000 miles, (they told me 8,000, but after pulling my receipt, I see it was 7,501 miles), my car had consumed over 2.2 quarts of oil. Apparently this was not enough for them to acknowledge my car had (has!) any mechanical problem. Instead, after paying $46 for my oil change, they said they needed to do an "oil consumption test." This is accomplished by me driving my car 1,000 miles and then bringing it back to them so they can "check how much oil has been consumed." I know I'm a woman and maybe they think I'm stupid, however, if my car has used over 2.2 quarts of oil in a little under 8,000 miles, can't they do math? I can, and Houston, we have a problem! I point blank asked them if they considered almost 2 and 1/2 quarts of oil consumption within 8,000 miles "normal" and they said no. (Should I give them points for this?!?) Also, by Honda's own admission, "On some 2008-11 Accords, the fuel injector timing and VTC timing at cold start may create deposits on the oil control rings that could contribute to increased oil consumption." (Link to letter sent to me: https://i2.wp.com/www.julieannacline.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Original-Honda-Letter-09-2011.jpg?resize=942%2C1250&ssl=1) Although I was sent two texts asking me to please complete the customer survey regarding my service, I never received any survey. I even texted Geoff back letting him know I didn't get a survey, but he didn't respond. I was looking forward to filling it out. I no longer trust Fernandez. Someone called me last week asking where I was at re mileage and expressed the desire that I would come back to see them when I hit 1,000 miles. But why would I? Yes, I'm sure I've shortened the life of my car's engine now. (Or, did Honda do that by selling new cars with defective parts?!?) You don't drive your car until the engine is rattling due to low oil pressure without doing damage. Unfortunately, I just never thought to check it. My car isn't leaking oil onto my driveway and doesn't smoke like a chimney when I drive,--and I take it in for service regularly. Additionally, Honda (and therefore Fernandez), replaced the defective VTC actuator with the EXACT SAME defective part back in 2014 as they didn't have anything different at that time. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to come to the logical, end conclusion: the defective part will fail. Bottom line: When an authorized Honda dealer, knowing full well that a vehicle has consumed almost 2.5 quarts of oil in 8,000 miles, sends me on my way to drive another 1,000 miles to do an "oil consumption test," I think it's time to go someplace else. What's the best case scenario for them? My engine fails catastrophically and I buy my next vehicle from them? If that was/is their thought process, I've got news for them. It's defective. read more

I appreciate how helpful Geoff was and that he offered direction, as I am a newer customer and didn't know proper protocols at this location. I bought a car here. The next day the battery died. When I called to ask why they had sold me a car with a bad battery, they claimed I must have left a light on to drain it. They wouldn't replace it. I took my car here for some Recall work. I scheduled for the service online; it was easy and convenient. Check in was quick, and the waiting area is quite nice. There was a machine for coffee and hot chocolate. They had pastries for folks to snack on while they wait. I was hoping the battery phone charger worked, but it didn't. :( I was there for the amount of time quoted, it was long but I knew what I was expecting and the little amenities they had made the wait a little more pleasant. Oh they also have the nicest and cleanest bathrooms ever! Recall work complete and have a full report at the end. I also order a part from their parts desk. All the service members there were professional. I enjoyed my experience at Fernandez Honda. Just a heads up, one of the workers will ask you if you want to do a free estimate for your vehicle to be added to their used car lot. Absolutely horrendous experience! Felt more like buying fake goods from a snake oil salesman, than purchasing a vehicle. Kevin, a sales consultant, and Joe, an internet manager, really failed tremendously. Although their initial price was competitive and communication clear, as soon as I decided to put a deposit on a vehicle to take it off the market, communication ground to a halt. After I submitted the deposit form, it took them multiple days to actually take the deposit and take the car off the market. I emailed and texted them multiple times to confirm that they processed the deposit, as I didn't want someone else swooping in and buying the car, and I got little response w/ lots of feet dragging. That's not even the worst part, after the deposit finally went through, I requested multiple times (for over a week) to discuss payment options with little to no response. As I'm a very busy person as many of us are, I requested communication via email because I can't stop working every second to take a call and email is overall a better experience. Yet, they refused to email me and continued leaving me voicemails without the information I requested. I felt like I was being scammed...they took my money and now refuse to communicate properly?! Seems pretty fishy to me. Somehow, through all the information I was able to pull out of them, I was able to figure out what monthly financing and leasing payments would look like. I asked them if my numbers were correct and again, radio silence. Finally, I let them know that I had a competitive offer from another dealership, but wasn't happy with their service either. If they were able to confirm my numbers (which were actually higher than the other dealership), then I'd be able to move forward. But surprise surprise, almost a week of no response. I don't know why I had enough patience up until this point, but I finally decided to request a refund of my deposit (which we had negotiated as refundable). As they had completely destroyed my trust from what I've detailed above, I requested that they process the refund by end of day. This initiated lots of pushback from Kevin. Finally, when I let him know I'd be charging back the deposit, he tells me that I raise lots of red flags because I insist on communicating via email. Excuse me?! This guy has MY money and is obligated to return it to me, and he's insinuating that I'm some type of shady or fraudulent customer?! I didn't realize that emailing was crime or that people who give you their credit card information are actually trying to scam you instead. Completely disgusting experience! I highly recommend you stay away from this dealership and at the very least stay away from Kevin and Joe. read more
