Ken, the owner of Grout America, is easy to work with and professional. He was always on time (both for estimate and actual work) and does an excellent work. We have a 2300 SF home and it's mostly tile. We never had it cleaned professionally ever since we installed the tiles 20 years ago. So, you can imagine the grouts were pretty bad, especially kitchen, bathroom and hallways. Ken showed up and deep cleaned the tiles first then color sealed the grout lines. Well, it turned out much better than we expected! Now our home feels brand new. The price was much less than other "big" tile cleaning companies. So thrilled we found Ken at Grout America! Our kitchen floors were looking ugly and tired. We started getting quotes to tear it out and replace it, but just couldn't stomach the high costs. I contacted Grout America and one other company because my shower was looking a little moldy in places and I noticed some small cracks in my grout. Both responded the same day, but I chose to go with Grout America because it's an owner-operated business. I prefer when the person who provides me with the estimate is the same one that does the job. The owner, Ken, showed up right on time for the estimate. I showed him the shower that I had an issue with and he described the work that he could do and gave me his estimate. I then showed him the other two bathrooms in the house and asked if he felt either needed any grout repair. He took a few minutes to look over each one and let me know that one was fine, but the other could use some minor work. He told me he would take care of it when he was here, and didn't raise the price of his estimate to do so. He told me he could come back Friday of that week to complete the work, and showed up 15 minutes early to that appointment as well. Once here, it took him just over 3 hours to complete the work. The shower looks fantastic, I should have done this about a year earlier. I don't leave too many yelp reviews because most of the companies I go with already have a good rating. I figured I should leave one for Grout America because they don't have any reviews yet, and certainly deserve a 5 star rating. read more

Some sections of our kitchen sink tile grout had begun to fall out due to its age, and we were looking for a less expensive alternative than replacing the entire countertop. We called Ken, made an appointment, and he gave us a written estimate for regrouting sections of the kitchen countertop next to the sink and resealing the entire sink and countertop area with a custom mix of colored grout sealer. We were very pleased because the sink area and countertops now looks brand new, much like the day it was installed! Ken is the owner of Grout America and when you call him, you're talking to the person who does the work. He is very detailed oriented and cares about about the work that he does and makes sure it is appropriate for the customer's needs--no overselling. I would note that Ken also regrouted and resealed my mom's aging kitchen tile countertops (which was in worse shape than ours) and really transformed it to a beautiful, clean looking kitchen. He came out the following week- he was efficient, on time and went the extra mile to make sure that the job was done right. I contacted Ken to come redo the caulking at my bathtub due to a crappy job I already had previously paid someone to do. He made me feel comfortable and sounded like he cared about the work he does. He told me "Don't worry, I'll clean that all up for you". So he took some sand grout and grouted at the shower surround and tubline, then he did the same at the sides and base of the tub at the floor. He didn't "clean that all up", he simply grouted over the caulking and since that wasn't done right and there was caulking smeared from the floor up about two inches on the side of the tub, it still looked bad. Then a few weeks later, I noticed that the grout line at the base of the tub along the floor was pulling apart and had a 1 inch gap going across it. So I called Ken back out. He definitely let on that he was annoyed and then he took some grout and inserted it at the top of the crack, wiped it and left. OKAY???? Told me he didn't want to hear from me until it was about him picking up his Christmas present, uh, no, not funny. Now the split is about 2 inches long and I am thinking that Sacramento is full of hacks who say they know what they are doing. This is a lousy job that cost me more money to fix what another dumb head did to my bathroom, and I filed a complaint against that guy with the contractors board, that helped but still left me with a mess that Ken said he was going to "clean up" for me and just left me with a new problem. read more

I found Ken on Yelp and have been wanting my floor tile cleaned for a long time! I tried myself and it was hopeless. I called Ken and he came out and not only cleaned but color-sealed all the grout. I have a marble floor bathroom in the front which he matched beautifully and even grouted along the tub and flooring. Half of my house is porcelain tile as I have dogs......so, kitchen, hallways, office, bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet. He has come on time and is careful with all the furniture.
