We are vacationing in the area and came out to drink wine and listen to music. We arrived and we were hit up immediately for a cover charge to pay for the singer. $7 each.. cash only. Who carries cash?. We had a few bucks between us so we left to go to an ATM down the road. Turned out half the people outside and in the band area didn't have wrist bands. People who arrived and went right from the parking lot to the tables outside didn't "need" to pay the cover. read more

First time visiting the area and could not be happier with this winery! First, we were greeted not only by Laurie (who looked out for us the entire time we were there), but also by Gus who is the sweetest mascot doggie (he even has a wine named in his honor). We were offered the Welcome tasting of Riesling which was very good and then we each had a flight-I had the dry flight with chocolate (each one was fantastic) and my husband had a sweeter flight and charcuterie board for us to share. The prices were very reasonable and the quality was excellent. We chose to stay inside the tasting room because it was hot outside, but the outside area is very spacious and there is plenty of room to move about and enjoy the time there. We ended up bringing six bottles home, and I can't decide which I like more-the cute labels or delicious wine itself. Customer service is so very important, and we were quite happy with how welcome we were made to feel. Hope to be back next summer! read more

I visited Grovedale Winery & Vineyards for a wine tasting session. It was a great experience. I chose the ten-wine tasting option, which would have been a very reasonable price if I'd just gotten the included wine, but the bartender (if that's what you call him) gave an extensive lesson on my wine tastes (including some extra wines). I picked a number of wines that sounded like they'd fit my tastes. He served them (a quarter-ish glass for each wine) and took my feedback and offered thoughtful additions based on my likes and dislikes. I learned a lot, found that I liked several wines that I wouldn't have thought about, and it all felt fun and organic. Also, their wines were quite good. The vibe in the tasting room is casual but it's pleasantly appointed. I'd definitely recommend that anyone who's in the area and is thinking about stopping in do so, and if I were looking to host an event in the area, I'd definitely keep Grovedale on my radar. read more

A cute little winery with nice tasting room and very friendly staff. I was welcomed within seconds of walking through the door and had a glass poured within 30 seconds. A flight of 5 was $12 which is a great deal and you can add additional wines for $2 each. Some were very good and some were not to my liking but wine is incredibly subjective. I left with 6 bottles and will definitely return. read more

We recently found this lovely winery. We wish we had known about it sooner. The tasing room and bar area is very nice, immediately served a welcoming glass of Riesling. In my opinion their best wine. We have visited 2 times in the last week. Did the tasting the first visit. My husband tasted mostly reds and I the whites. We enjoyed the hummus and crackers outside around the firepit. Beautiful grounds. We took friends with us on a rainy day. Plenty of room inside to stay dry. Many people coming in and out. Some staying and drinking a bottle. Others running in to take something home. We really liked the cheese/charcuterie board this visit. The staff is very friendly. We will return soon. read more

My husband and I recently had our wedding at Grovedale Winery. The staff, especially Kelly, made sure our big day was everything we wanted and more. She was very attentive and helpful throughout the whole wedding planning process! The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We had our ceremony under the big oak tree and it was absolutely breathtaking. The owners allowed us personalize our wedding in every way we wanted, including fireworks! The Cabernet is a must try as well as the fall white! Posted by my better half... I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to your winery on Saturday. I sampled six different sweet wines and ended up purchasing three bottles to take home. My husband and I, along with the couple we accompanied really enjoyed the experience. Overall the winery was the highlight of our trip. Good wine and food. The Ham panini was tasty with the brie, apple and honey and the butternut squash soup was excellent.

This is place is lovely--the grounds are pretty, the outdoor dining space is inviting, the tasting room is attractive, the staff are friendly, the wines are refreshing...but, on the occasion we visited there wasn't enough coordination or enough staff to efficiently carry out everything this place attempts to deliver. We have been here when we were the only customers and the tasting was very pleasant. Sampling a beer necessitated the server going to another area to get the beer, which seemed a bit inefficient but not a problem with just us. On our most recent visit, there were more customers and two servers. Between wine sampling, food orders, serving beer, cashing out orders, some things did not occur (clearing tables and completing orders) and I don't think we were the only customers to walk away disappointed that day. This was my first and only visit. My mom and I have been wanting to try your winery since you opened. My boyfriend and I went home for a visit a month ago and finally had time to visit. We were all so excited to try your winery and we were so disappointed in our service. Terrible Terrible service. We came in on a Saturday, early afternoon. The room wasn't too busy maybe 5 or 6 ppl at the bar between 2 groups of ppl. One group was finishing up and getting ready to leave so didn't need much service, the other group were 3 ladies in spandex work out clothes with a gentleman with them. We looked around for a few minutes, checked out the décor, and finally sat at one of the high top tables in the middle of the room. We didn't get a "hello" or anything. I finally went up and asked for a menu, he just handed it over and didn't say anything but "here you go". Once we decided on our samples, I went to the counter to get samples for the 3 of us. The server was an older maybe 60s, gentleman wearing a SC College sweater (maybe it was a different state.) Anyhoo, he asked how he could help, I stated we had never been there and we were excited to try their wines and would like samples please. He asked how many ppl were in my group, as though it wasn't obvious there were 3 of us in that tiny room. he then walked away (without excusing himself) to serve the spandex ladies fresh samples. I then stood there for TEN minutes before he came back to me to see what we wanted. I NEVER LET THE COUNTER! 10 minute wait, for no reason? And not once did he acknowledge I was there, not one glance, or head nod, or "be there in a minute". it was just downright disrespectful. Anywhere I worked before, it was basic customer service and practice to ensure customers are treated. I am not picky when it comes to service but I do expect servers to respect their guests and treat them with respect. To say the least, I have absolutely no interest in going to your winery again and will not recommend it to anyone based on the poor service we received (for no reason.)We can respect a busy day, short staffed facilities, new EEs in training, but this wasn't acceptable. Very disappointed in such poor service and what was supposed to be a relaxing, enjoyable afternoon sipping on wine. read more
