Would not recommend this gardening shop. The owner 'Frank' frequently appeared intoxicated while working, which made the experience uncomfortable and unprofessional. Prices also seemed to change depending on who was buying, and I felt like I was being overcharged after he noticed I was willing to spend money. Overall, the business felt dishonest and unreliable. I have been going here for over a year now. The owner Geo is very knowledgeable and helpful. Gerald is his right hand man and is also very knowledgeable. I have come across many issues in my grow, as you will see is common. They always know what to ask and how to help. And while the answer is sometimes a product they sell, that is not their answer just to sell stuff. I am lucky to have found them from the beginning and had them as mentors in my garden. read more

The employees aren't just sales people they actually know what they are talking about and give great advice for all styles of gardening. Prices are comparable to online for most items and the store location is convenient asf. 5 star store for sure. read more

My wife and I are new to gardening so Growing Point was our first stop. We dropped in on a weekend and were met with a welcoming smile. The proprietor Geo was a fountain of knowledge, patiently answering all our questions. As a veteran horticulturalist, he understood our needs and walked us through the process of getting started. He respected our budget and really helped us spend wisely. We left feeling educated and confident. We have been back several times since and always receive the same attention from the staff too. This weekend we arrived ready to spend yet again, but were informed by Geo of a blow out sale on the 19th. Major savings too. He recommended we wait if possible to make our large purchases until then. Today I stopped into Growing Point for the first time. I have driven by this store so many times and have always wanted to stop in and ask for help in starting out with some sort of home growing system. Well the day finally came today, as I had just previously started gathering the components for an indoor grow tent setup. My tent and light were purchased from an online company and I wanted to buy the remaining needed things from a local store, where I could see the products and bring them home with me. During these crazy times in our world the online shipping industry seemed to be getting less reliable very quickly and going back to the roots of supporting small local business seemed to be the only sensible solution.. I was greeted first by Luna (the store mascot) as soon as I opened the door and then quickly heard a voice welcome me from behind the counter introducing himself as Geo. He was quick to show me his selection of ventilation fans, filters and potting materials which I was needing to purchase. As hinted in other reviews, I found him to be very happy and almost excited to share his deep knowledge about not only the products which he sells, but also his obviously vast wisdom of his trade.. The end result of my visit was not only limited to purchasing everything that I needed, but was complimented by the great conversation and easy to understand advice that he seemed all to happy to share.. From the exterior, the store might not seem too big, but the variety of quality products turned out to be a Lot more to choose from than I ever expected. Fertilizers, growing mediums, fans, electronic controllers and on and on and on..... If you are local or not and in need of growing products of many different categories, then I sincerely suggest that you visit this business. Bring your questions with you and expect them to offer solutions, rather than an opportunistic sale. I know for a fact that what is included in there Great prices, is their wisdom of the trade which they represent. Thank you Geo and Luna. And he is a good business man because he knows how to make people happy! He even delivered my 4x4 flood tray to my house 8 miles away bc it wouldn't fit in my car... Wicked cool! Wow!! I've been here several times my first time wasn't to impressed the person behind the counter was more confused than I was. He must have been new or a temp employee.. It took him like 10 or 12 minutes to ring me up he looked confused on the prices and seem to be checking the prices on the Internet. No big deal I thought.. Figured he was new..since then I've gone back many more times to pick up supply's as I need them never seen that first kid again but the other two gentlemen that work there or own the place are awesome very helpful and extremely knowledgeable and turns out 1 of them is my neighbor(small world) and was very friendly.. This is the only hydro store in my area but that's not why I keep going back. I go back cause I like the service and the employees don't hover over you as soon as you walk in.. I wanted hydro store that opens before 10am, found this that was advertised to be open at 9am. I showed up to the store at 9:45am; the sign on the door said OPEN. Pull the door it is locked, push the door it is locked... go around back nothing. the lights looked on, said okay ill call the. Called the number that was advertised on the website and here (978-655-3173) got a voice mail for a 617 number (so forwarded) with no information on it, called again same exact voice mail. Waited until about 10:05 still was not open and left. On top of that the place looks like an absolute dump. I assume this place hired people that are most likely dipped real quick away from the store or mislabeled their website, either way screams of piss poor business management. Right now online is by far the cheapest place to get your hydro supplies, these stores are here for convenience factor of not waiting for shipping and customer service experience. This experience was a complete waste of my time; and clearly doesn't live up to the my expectations so I will never be going back. I also told all my grower friends to avoid this place like the plague and they will. I am off to Green life hydro in Billerica to get my stuff they are good guys and actually open when they say they are, just a much further drive for me. read more
