Our third and final baby girl started attending Growing Years two years ago (at the time that the name transitioned to Achievers). After moving to CV in 2021 (5 days before she was born!), we had a hard time finding a daycare/preschool that would take babies. After many inquiries for months, we learned that GY was opening up a classroom for 2-year-olds, to compensate for the fact that many 4-year-olds were starting to attend TK at public elementary schools. She started attending right after her 2nd birthday and remained there for the past 2 years in the Willows (2yo) classroom and the Maples (3yo) classroom. She loved going to "school" and developed wonderful relationships with friends and teachers during her time there. We would have happily stayed for the Redwoods (4yo) preschool class, but decided to transition her to TK so she could attend the same school as her 7yo sister. We had nothing but wonderful experiences with the teachers and staff at Achievers, who maintain frequent and open communication with parents, and schedule fun events for the kids. They supported us with potty training so she could move to the Maples classroom, which honestly helped us make that transition sooner rather than later. I would recommend Achievers to any parent looking for a safe, loving and welcoming environment for their little one! read more

My son came in the middle of the year and the growth he's shown in 6 months is incredible! Miss Neeru is kind, tender, and an excellent guide for all the children in her care. Miss Jennifer is a wonderful educator with a heart of gold and a flare for fun. I am so happy my kids had the opportunity to attend Growing Years Preschool. During our very first visit my 3 year old decided this was the school she wanted to attend and was upset about leaving. Both of my kids were excited every school day to see their friends and teachers. They felt loved, supported, and encouraged to learn/grow. The kids participated in so many hands-on activities. Their favorite was the opportunity to take home the homemade, colorful, scented play dough. That stuff never dries out! While the pandemic had limited off-premise activities this past school year, there were an abundant amount of opportunities to celebrate, explore, and create on-premise. As COVID-19 regulations changed, communication was very clear. The school remained very clean and organized. I felt that the health of staff and students was top priority. Teachers went above and beyond to share each students daily/weekly activities with parents. While my kids are two completely different people this school was absolutely the best fit for both of them. read more

Growing Years is like a home away from home for our kids. Our daughter is now 8 years old and our son is 4 years old. When we were searching for a preschool as first time parents we brought our daughter with us. She immediately fell in love with the place. The facility is perfect for a young child to thrive. It is nice, clean, and well organized. They taught our kids how to be independent and communicate their needs all through their play based structure. Miss Shalimar and all the staff are kind, fair, and always positive. This is a place where our kids were able to most importantly learn about themselves. My child is not enrolled at this preschool. This review is pertaining to the communication I received from this school, regarding an inquiry for enrollment. Two weeks ago, I had sent an email to inquire about the school program and to schedule a tour. As a previous review had mentioned, they're not very responsive to email inquiries. I ended up calling and spoke with the school director, I believe her name was either Neeru or Neetu. She was pleasant to speak with and was very friendly. She had advised of the school tour schedules and I had mentioned I'd call back, once I spoke with my husband, to schedule a tour. I called Monday, 8/14/23 around 11am. I was aware that school had just begun. With that said, I expected to receive their voicemail to leave a message for a school tour, however a teacher answered. Unfortunately, I don't recall her name. It was clear that it was during class, as I can hear the children in the background and she sounded frustrated and overwhelmed. She was very unpleasant to speak with, as she was short and rude. I asked to schedule a tour and she responded,"I don't know, send an email." And I said, to which email? And she said, "I don't know, check the website." She said that she was with students at the moment. Not a good first impression for a potential new student and new parent. As a parent, it's always best to follow your gut feeling. If she was overwhelmed in the situation by being interrupted with a phone call during class, I can only imagine how she is towards the children during moments of frustration. Such a disappointment, as this school was the top of my list of preschools. I was impressed with the learning curriculum from their website, in addition to pricing and close proximity from my home. However, the initial contact with the teacher by phone, rubbed me the wrong way. Definitely no longer interested in scheduling a tour. read more

My daughter spent a year there before starting kindergarten this year and though she took a bit of time to warm up - we were/are extremely happy with this preschool. The teachers encourage children to find their own voices and really grow. I loved the fact that they provided lunch- I just wish preschool food was healthier. But seeing as I haven't found that anywhere- I can't really complain unless I was willing to personally make her lunches. They are play based and my daughter learned A TON. They do science activities, read, play and have fun learning. Having been at a different preschool earlier- I do have something to compare it to and we found growing years to be very well organized and consistent. The only reason I might not send my younger child is they are not licensed for diapered kiddos- and my younger one can't seem to get with the program so I may have to find an alternative preschool. read more

My daughter attended Growing years from 2019-2020. This school has prepared my daughter for kindergarten socially and academically. The teachers truly care about the kiddos. I highly recommend this school if you want to enrich your child with great friendships, academics, and ART lots of fun art!! My daughter went here for about 1.5 years. We moved so had to take her out and she was devastated. She talks about the teachers and kids there still. They don't take bank holidays office which is great because most companies dont take that off and we are having a hard time at the new school . I highly recommend growing years! read more

I am so glad I found this school for my son. It came highly recommend by a good friend and some moms in my mother's club. The teachers are very patient. The space is well put together with tons of activities for the kids. They really really treat my child with respect and seem to enjoy him when he is there . he loves going to school and learning new stuff. The also offer a parents night out monthly that I have yet to take them up on but looking forward to the next one so i can have a much needed date night. read more

Warm, well put facility, caring stuff and smiles everywhere! My daughter (3 1/2 years-old) loves this school. She has attended sunshine preschool and a private small daycare, both with little success. This school is amazing all around. Lots of hugs, manners, boundaries, singing, dancing, art projects, firm but gentle discipline, reading excitement and afternoon naps :) Among many things, my favorite is their outdoor time. We researched other preschools but the reason we chose GY is the fact that they employ play-based learning which is so important to a child's development! I also like that they encouraged emotional resilience. My son thrived and was ready for TK when he left. Miss Shalimar does a phenomenal job keeping the place in tip top shape. She keeps parents informed of the curriculum and different events in addition to keeping the kids engaged with daily educational activities. I had no idea what I was looking for when I was searching for a preschool for my oldest child. A friend referred Growing Years. I had visited other preschools and didn't see a good fit but when I walked into Growing Years, we got a tour as well as an interview with Ms. Shalimar, I was sold. Both my boys now in 5th and 2nd grades are polite, creative, love to learn, and able to make friends with anyone they meet ... and I attribute these great social skills with their time at Growing Years. As they are introduced into new playgrounds or play areas they have never been to, they play safely and respectfully. All the teachers were professional and loving. They went above and beyond to support families regardless of their situation. If you are looking for a play-based preschool with fun activities, lunch and snacks provided, parents nights out every month, and an amazing scrapbook personalized for your child -- well you found the place. read more

Growing Years Preschool was a great program for my two kids during summers when their regular preschool was closed. My son enjoyed being in the "dolphin" class which meant being in the older group. My daughter learned so much about science and loved being with her friends. I loved the emphasis on the outdoors and outdoor play, especially water play in the summer! I waited a year before writing this review because I wanted time to be the test. My 4 year old is in his second year and my 2.5 year old started in January. The teachers and director at this school are deeply loving and caring to the children. They are fair and well educated in child development. They are enthusiastic, personable and all around good people. These are the people I want my children spending time with. The curriculum is play-based and interest-based. Children are given access to clean, high quality toys and art materials. Sensory and art activities are rotated and changed frequently, often accompanying the theme of what holiday is being celebrated. Class celebrations are well-thought out and coordinated. The facility is CLEAN and well-maintained. Communication is clear and thorough. The thing that sticks with me the most is the way that individual teachers always take the time to share a special tidbit of the day, or something sweet and/or special that my child has done. They seem to have mastered the perfect amount of engaging with observing and not interfering. One thing that also has struck me is the way the director always takes the time to address each child when they come or go, and she always asks adults to wait if a child needs her attention, even for something trivial. Our daughter loves her teachers and her classmates. They have lots of play time (see the amazing play structure outside), access to art every day, science experiments, field trips, book time, music time and more. Had a better experience in the past with my first child, recent experience wasn't as great

I drop by at the place I doorbell and knock on the door and there's no answer I opened the door and no one in the front office. I stood there for awhile until a parent told an employee that someone was at the door then this fat girl came out, did not introduce herself but instead she pointed out that she was on her lunch hour (how very rude me) so I offered my apologies for interrupting her lunch . I ask for information of the place and she handed me a brochure and told me to call for an appointment, very quick to dismiss me, very in a hurry to go back and eat before she pass out of hunger. They're cheaper than the preschool on the next street but I guess you definitely get what you pay for. read more
