Upon first glance, Growlers to Go-Go is unassuming. In a shopping plaza next to Trixie's Liquor, the exterior hides all of the fun surprises waiting inside! I've been to Growlers a couple times now and have really enjoyed the laid-back, friendly atmosphere. I hope more people continue to learn like I did that it's set up as a bar and not necessarily just to get growlers to go. The parking lot is a huge asset -- No worries about finding street parking or feeding a meter. Once you're inside, the intimate space seems to encourage interaction amongst the people enjoying beverages. I also really like the different pour size options. You can decide whether you want a larger pour of a favorite beer or maybe you're in the mood to try several small tastes. There's a decent rotation of craft selections, so if you go regularly you'll be able to find some new options. Kombucha's also on the menu, including one with CBD. There's something for everyone. I'd definitely wander in again next time I want to try a new pint and have an interesting conversation! read more

My favorite after work bar, my Saturday & Sunday afternoon stopover, and my rare and local beer tasting oasis. I had been eagerly waiting for this place to open and now it is here and cranking out the bliss. Growlers To Go-Go specializes in getting mostly hard to find brews and a lot of stuff that has not been bottled. Come in and try a couple samples and see what you like your 32 or 64 oz. growler filled with to enjoy at your leasure wherever you may find yourself. The crowler (single 32 oz. Serving to go can) station is in the works and will be up and running soon if you need a can version. I they are conveniently located within close range to many delivery and carry out eateries, so if you are hungry bring something and get to drinking. Furthermore, the prices are unbeatable and the range is kept the same whether you are drinkin a 5 oz. pour or getting a 64 oz. to go! There are many $2 pours of highly sought after beers that beers junkies pay upwards of $15 for a bomber (22 oz, Novices) for. The staff is friendly, relaxed, and will enjoy your company. A bit weird of a setup as it is kind of in a strip mall. Very accommodating staff that made me feel welcome. As did what appeared to be the regulars. I had fun trying beers and playing pinball. I hit Growlers to Go-Go a couple of weeks back and will definitely be returning. They have a good, solid selection of tap beers. You can get a free taste, order various sizes to drink in the establishment and you can order a Growler of fresh beer to go. I like that you can order as small as a 32oz growler can; the can will keep the beer drinkable longer and 32 oz is definitely drinkable by one person in one sitting (as compared to a 64 oz growler bottle). The service was great. The crowd was eclectic and interesting. All in all, close to a 5 star rating in my book. Definitely a high recommend from me. read more

Such a great idea! GtGG features sixteen tap lines and a small tasting bar. You can try before you buy, and then take what you like in a growler to go (go). You can also enjoy a pint while there, as several people were doing when we stopped by midday on a Friday. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and the patrons were great too. "Menomena" (the Muppets song, not the indie band) came on while we were deciding what to get and the entire place turned into a giggling sing-along. One way or another, you'll likely leave with a smile on your face. GtGG utilizes the digital keg program that allows you to see what's on tap and how much is left. Prices were really reasonable and there are a variety of sizes so you can purchase an amount that suits your needs - pours are guaranteed fresh for two days. Definitely worth a stop next time you're on East Washington and it can be worth the trip if you're planning to entertain. Stopped in for an event - a vertical of three years of goose island's bourbon county stouts and it was a great experience. They have great service and a great beer selection - stay and have a few beers, play some arcade games, or take some growlers to go. I do wish the location was more friendly to those needing to return back towards downtown or the west side - there were a few no u turns/left turns we encounter on the way out, but that doesn't have an impact on the place itself, which was GREAT. read more

LOVE this place!! My brother is a regular, and we stopped over there with him one Saturday after he got a notification that they had just tapped one of his favorites! You get two small pours for free, and you can buy a pint of anything else you want to check out. I am a big fan of their 32 Crowler Canner! We don't drink a ton of beer so this was the perfect amount for us to share with the family. We went in right when they opened on a Saturday and had the place to ourselves, with a very friendly lady behind the bar so it made for a great start to the day! read more

I'm a beer guy, and this is one of my favorite beer places around. They have an eclectic, ever-changing selection of beers on tap, always including unique and hard to find choices. There's also a kombucha tap, my other favorite fermented beverage! As the name explains, it's a place to bring your growler (or buy one there), have it filled, and enjoy fresh craft beer wherever life takes you and the local ordinances will allow. Another fantastic option for portable potables is the Crowler, a 32 ounce can that they fill and seal. Didn't bring your growler, but tasted a beer that you just have to share with friends? Get a crowler. Going someplace where glass containers aren't the best idea? Crowler. Backpacking or bikepacking and want good beer but not the extra weight of a container? You get the idea... Most of my visits, though, are for enjoying a beer, or a few, in house. Each beer has different pour options available. You get two tastes for free, so you can see if that mango habanero bourbon barrel aged coconut porter is your cup of tea. 5oz pours are available, which I think is a perfect size to get a really good feel for what a beer is about, and a great way to enjoy that 13% ABV behemoth without sacrificing the rest of your evening. Next up is usually either a 10oz pour or a pint, depending on the beer. Then of course to-go options of half growler fill, crowler, and full growler. Occasionally special beers will have some limits to the quantities so more beer lovers get to enjoy a limited release. Another thing I've grown to love is the Digital Pour menu system they have. It's not just the cool digital board that lists their beers, pour sizes and prices, and amount left in the keg, you can download the app and see what they have on tap from whereever you happen to be. All of this stuff is great, but it's the staff that really makes this a fun place for a beer lover to visit. Naturally, they're all into beer and have great recommendations, but they're also just a darn fun group of people to have a beer with. They make for a great vibe and there's always good conversation with the bartenders (beertenders?) and other patrons. read more

I have collected a growler collection since this place came to Madison. The staff is always great, even when it's packed,. It's convenient and has a good number of options on tap and you're almost guaranteed to find something unique. It has become one of my regular places to check in on when looking for some great beer. And with the Digital Pour integration (app & website), I can easily see what they have. It really doesn't look like much from outside. However, this place's charm is apparent once you've walked through the doors. With the bottle cap bar and all-glass tappers, it differentiates itself from the neighborhood. The pinball machines are a nice touch as well. Overall, the area is too small for me, so I can't see myself staying longer than to fill a growler or two. Though, this aspect also allows them to better serve those just looking to take something home. If price is an issue, you can always check out their 50% off taps 1-6 on Mondays. read more

My go-to Tuesday spot! Jen, the bartender, is the bomb! Also, it's 50% off growlers on Tuesdays which you absolutely cannot beat. Lots of regulars and you can bring in craft beers from the next door liquor store. Definitely a hidden gem. They also have 3 vintage video game machines, pinball machine, and wii.
