Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap
Christopher L.

The service here was good in a lively atmosphere. They have a lot of options and opted for the chicken bacon wrap. The fries were crispy and the wrap was a large portion. Overall the wrap was ok as the ratio was off and I would have preferred not chopped chicken in it. However, overall it was good for the value.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and the place was hopping, We were seated right away . They had a variety of beers and food options. My husband had the Pumpkin Disordely and enjoyed it. We had the pretzel appetizer. The pretzels were a bit dry and overbaked. My husband had the VBC Burger with fries. Service was ok, we had to ask for refills, never received the water we requested and overall not attentive.

We stop all the time. Because it's close and convenient to the sylvee and then sometimes just because.

They have such a great deal for bottomless mimosas - only $17! The food was pretty good, the only thing that's a little annoying is charging $1.50 for a little container of sauce. Service was great, bottomless mimosas really did mean bottomless, very attentive

Good food and decent service. Everything came out quickly, hot, and as we ordered it. Stopped in for lunch during the makers market. We really appreciated the fun mocktail menu! The homemade ranch is delicious, and the house salad was fresh, a really generous portion with a good amount of toppings. My friend really enjoyed the CBR wrap. It was pretty loud and busy, but it was expected for a game day and during iron man among a bunch of other things happening downtown.

What a gem in Madison! Vintage Brewing Co. is the perfect spot for lunch, dinner, or just drinks. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between laid-back and lively, making it ideal for any occasion. We started with their fresh, golden-brown fried cheese curds--crisp on the outside, gooey on the inside, and paired perfectly with their creamy house-made ranch. For the main course, the chicken wrap was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection, and the crispy tater tots on the side were just the right touch of comfort food. Great service, tasty food, and a solid drink selection--definitely a must-visit! You can also get a beer flight!! This place is huge!

Love this place! Stopped in for lunch with a colleague while on a work trip and we were so impressed. The menu is great with lots of options to fit different preferences. The vibe makes you want to hang around and have a beer or two and enjoy some good food and company. I had the CBR wrap Buffalo style with the sidewind fries and everything was so fresh and delicious. Their ranch tastes like it's made in house and was some of the best ranch I've had. This place is also huge with so much room to accommodate large parties. Restrooms were clean and well maintained and everyone was very friendly. The bartender said they have other locations too. Definitely worth checking out!

Was visiting for a wedding, and stopped by Vintage Brewing for a quick lunch before a few meetings. They had a good amount of space at/around the bar, booths for a more intimate setting, and tables that looked like they could fit any party size. I got the Mclovin with a turkey melt, and both were delicious! The fries were probably the crispiest fries I've ever eaten (10/10 would eat again)! With great service and choices for everyone, give them a try if you're in the area! (I take bad pictures, so don't hold that against me)

Scaredy Cat Oatmeal Stout

Vintage Brewing Co. Scaredy Cat: Vintage Brewing Company's origins go back to 2002 with the opening of Vintage Spirits & Grill near the UW-Madison campus (Madison, WI). Although I'm a UW Alum, I can't recall checking it out, although I definitely would have walked past it during a Saturday excursion to Wando's or The Red Shed. It wouldn't be until 2010 though, that Vintage Brewing Co. would officially open as a brewpub, serving delicious made-from-scratch food and unique hand-crafted beers. Their award-winning Scaredy Cat Oatmeal Stout is described as a hearty and full-bodied dark beer with rich malt flavors of molasses, cocoa, caramel, and espresso. Pouring the beer revealed a small head that quickly disappeared. I don't have the most sophisticated pallet as I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I detected primarily a bitter dark chocolate and espresso along with a semi-creamy feel. It has an IBU of 30 and comes in at 6.3% abv. I know you should never judge a book (or in this case beer) by its cover, but I sought this out because I liked the can (seems like a somewhat unpopular opinion, but cats over dogs). Anyways, I found it too bitter for my liking. With all the awards it has won, that's probably a me problem. Most stout fans (whether or not they like cats or dogs) should enjoy this one, but I'm afraid for me, it was just okay. Doughboy_Food_Reviews

There are plenty of to go options in the cooler and they often have events like trivia. The indoor space is cute with an open concept surrounding their brewing equipment and hanging plants with cozy dim lighting, and the outdoor patio is nice in the summer especially to bring dogs. They have slowly been improving their food offerings over time. I usually get one of their crunch wraps but tried the chicken club this time and it was delicious, as were the fries! It did get a little messy at the end since there is a lot in between the bread, but it was worth it. There could have been more aioli on the sandwich but I just asked for a side of it and used it for both that and my fries which was perfect. The background music has always been great and the staff have always been lovely.

It was Thursday evening and they had a ribs/pulled pork special. We waited about 10 minutes at the bar for a table. The bar and atmosphere is great. Pretty bar lights and an old wood bar. We were seated by the window with a great view of the capital. My daughter and I shared the rib dinner and had plenty of food for us. Our waitress was new and learning but was doing a good job. I'd definitely come back.

Luckily, since I was traveling solo, I was able to get a spot at the bar - it was very busy but I got seated right away. Ordered a Shrub, which is a non-alcoholic drink with cherry flavors. The company that makes the drink is woman-owned and Wisconsin based. I liked it! It tasted somewhat like a cherry Sprite but lighter. My cheeseburger had the option of upgrading to curds as a side instead of fries or salad and they were really good! They were a tad too salty but the ranch that came with them was fantastic and helped hide that a little. The burger was awesome too! Cooked perfect for my taste and the cheese melted all over it - yum. I really liked the atmosphere of the place, too. It felt like what I'd imagine Cheers to be like - much more so than the actual Cheers bar in Boston. Great decor, lighting and the staff was attentive for being at a busy bar. Definitely check them out when you are in Madison!! Parking is a little hard, but there's a garage a few blocks away that's only $1.50 an hour, so I'd recommend that.

The bartender assured us that their vegan options were incredible. MadisonTap features many local Wisconsin beers on tap. They seem to often rotate the beers and keep a solid selection. MadisonTap was spacious with bar seats, tables, and booths available. The design and decor were well thought out. The crowd seems to be young professionals in their mid-20s to early 30s. I don't recall the beers I got here but I do remember prices being ~$7-10 range mark. The bartender and owner place special emphasis on being vegetarian and vegan friendly. Even one of the cocktails used vegan butter. There was a single bartender when I visited but it was a bit slow. We had a great conversation and watched Christmas movies on the projectors. Overall, solid experience. 5/5. Favorited in Madison, WI.

It happened to be near the theatre we went to, so we decided to stop in and check it out. They have nearly 775 different types of whiskey to choose from, which is wild! I loved that they offer different ounce sizes so you can sample a few, and they even pair it with water so you stay hydrated while tasting (smart touch). Price ranges between ~$7.50-$20.00+. The place had a cozy, lounge-like vibe and was pretty busy, but the staff was friendly and helpful. It's first come first served for seating, just like any bar. We sampled a few whiskeys and also tried their premade espresso martini. The whiskey selection was phenomenal, the espresso martini was decent, not the best I've had (it was premade), but still enjoyable (it's made with Tito's, which isn't my favorite base, but I appreciate the fresh coffee beans they used). All in all, this place is a hidden gem. Great whiskey, friendly staff, and the perfect cozy spot to escape the rain for a while. I'll definitely be back next time to try even more from their list!
