This was the most bizarre and disappointing meal I've had with Vintage. We ordered with our server an appetizer and food at the same time, since we knew what we wanted. Our appetizer arrived at the same time as our food. A big serving no-no. The server should have spaced out our meal. I ordered the fish sandwich and asked for no tartar sauce - I also asked for sweet chili sauce on the side. My sandwich came with tartar sauce on it and no sweet chili sauce. They did end up remaking my sandwich and it was served to me with two slices of cold cheese that hadn't melted yet on the sandwich. Our appetizer pretzel was good but didn't have any salt? Is this normal? Seems odd for a pretzel... My partner ordered the CBR wrap with Buffalo sauce and a side sauce of garlic Parmesan aioli. His sandwich came with no Buffalo sauce and he thought his garlic Parmesan aioli lacked flavor but when I tasted I realized they gave him avocado aioli instead. The fact so much went wrong with the meal had us scratching our heads - was this a kitchen mistake or had our server just totally mis-entered so much of our meal into the system? She did action the changes but seemed confused at first for how to solve my partners no Buffalo sauce request. As a previous server it would have been a no brainer for immediately getting my customer what they originally asked for. The food tasted great, but all around was such a poor experience we won't return. It felt like with all the mistakes there was no sincere apology on the servers end, just a shrug and "oopsies" mentality. Loved my food here. Fries were excellent. Pretzels are hand braided and huge! Plus they give you cheese and mustard to dip them in.... Love that. But the fried cheese curds were the best item of that day! They came out in a metal pull with ranch to dip them in. I asked for a side of buffalo sauce and tossed the cheese curds in the sauce and that just took them over the top!!!! Service was good. Everyone was friendly. My coworker and I got there at the end of the brunch hour (2 pm) and settled on the things we ordered. After we put our order in they gave us new menus.... They could've gave us a heads up as the lunch menu had more items and more of what we really wanted so that we were a bit frustrated with the staff because of that. Really nice dining space with ability to accommodate large groups. The white cheddar cheese curds were delicious - would order again. The ranch dressing was a little thin, but flavor was there. CBR WRAP (Crispy chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing, garlic & herb tortilla) was good! The chicken was seasoned well, had crisp lettuce and held together well. I also love the variety of sauces available but they are $1.50 extra (steep price) Bottomless mimosas for $25 is a good deal given that one is $12. I would recommend, at least off one visit. Placed an online order for take out direct with Vintage and it was a little confusing--they offer so many options--subtraction, addition and on the side. Love that they personalize so well. Also realized I made a mistake with my order. Manager fixed it right up. Picking up was in and out fast. I loved the grilled chicken wrap with bacon. Enough for two meals, frankly. Got the tots with it and they were nice, although certainly cooled on my trip home. Also got a burger, which was more to the medium-rare pink side than the medium ordered. Sidewinder fries are more like potato wedges. Have the tiniest spicey kick at the end. Love this place! Stopped in for lunch with a colleague while on a work trip and we were so impressed. The menu is great with lots of options to fit different preferences. The vibe makes you want to hang around and have a beer or two and enjoy some good food and company. I had the CBR wrap Buffalo style with the sidewind fries and everything was so fresh and delicious. Their ranch tastes like it's made in house and was some of the best ranch I've had. This place is also huge with so much room to accommodate large parties. They had a good amount of space at/around the bar, booths for a more intimate setting, and tables that looked like they could fit any party size. Vintage Brewing Co. Scaredy Cat: Vintage Brewing Company's origins go back to 2002 with the opening of Vintage Spirits & Grill near the UW-Madison campus (Madison, WI). Although I'm a UW Alum, I can't recall checking it out, although I definitely would have walked past it during a Saturday excursion to Wando's or The Red Shed. It wouldn't be until 2010 though, that Vintage Brewing Co. would officially open as a brewpub, serving delicious made-from-scratch food and unique hand-crafted beers. Their award-winning Scaredy Cat Oatmeal Stout is described as a hearty and full-bodied dark beer with rich malt flavors of molasses, cocoa, caramel, and espresso. Pouring the beer revealed a small head that quickly disappeared. I don't have the most sophisticated pallet as I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I detected primarily a bitter dark chocolate and espresso along with a semi-creamy feel. It has an IBU of 30 and comes in at 6.3% abv. I know you should never judge a book (or in this case beer) by its cover, but I sought this out because I liked the can (seems like a somewhat unpopular opinion, but cats over dogs). Anyways, I found it too bitter for my liking. With all the awards it has won, that's probably a me problem. I ordered the og burger and it was cooked to my liking and although it's a simple burger the flavor was phenomenal. One of the best parts of our time at vintage was our server Lidia. Last week I visited with friends and ordered the Stroganoff-wide cut egg noodles tossed in a marsala mushroom sauce topped with chef's choice cut steak & french fried onions. I'm a fan of the hamburger helper stroganoff lol and this dish was an elevated hamburger helper. My only complaint is there could have been less French fried onions. I'm not sure the cut if the steak but it was delicious and the Marsala mushroom sauce sooo good! Initially I ordered a French 75 to drink but it was not made properly so I asked the bartender to make me a drink that he enjoys making and he made me a mezcal margarita which was pretty good. My wife found this place while we were in Madison for a wedding and boy are we glad that we went! In addition to the good beer selection, the food was fantastic and the service was good, albeit slow due to how busy it was. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Burrito (see picture) and I ordered the Rip Rip Cheesy Mac (see pictures). Both were delicious - juicy, rich and flavorful. I really liked the Rip Rip Chicken on top of the macaroni and cheese, so if I went back I would probably try that by itself. This place is definitely worth a stop when you are downtown in Madison. We stopped in today to have a late lunch. A gentleman walked up to us as we walked in the door and greeted us there. There was ample seating at the bar, so we decided to sit at the bar. One bartender looked at us and walked away without saying anything. Another bartender looked at us and turned back around and then walked away. Almost 10 minutes passed without anyone saying anything to us. Then the first bartender walked towards us and grabbed a bottle of root beer and then walked away. Two other couples walked in and sat further inside, away from the entrance, and within a couple minutes, they were being served by yet another bartender, the third bartender we saw. Seeing the others getting service before us, we decided to get up and leave. As a previous brewery owner, I made sure my staff acknowledged every patron that came through the door. At the very least, tell the person/people arriving new, that they would be with them soon. Customer service was poor at best. I might continue to visit the Vintage location on Whitney Way, however, the East Wash location will remain vacant from our presence. Can't leave a 1/4 star, so lucky for the Vintage to even get 1 star. read more

If i'm at a restaurant on a Friday i'm going to have the fish fry. So the fish fry at Vintage? It's meh. The batter was flavorless. The tart was nothing. Not even a lemon could make this enjoyable. The coleslaw was something you'd get at a fast food joint. The fries were good and tasty though. I don't want to knock their restaurant as a whole because I wasn't expecting too much getting fish at a brewpub. However, I will be sticking to the hole in the wall places for fish fry henceforth. Service was great and very accommodating for a group of 12. The wait staff was attentive on drink refills and friendly with general banter.
