My partner and I have been to Wisconsin Brewing Company a few times now, and it's become one of our favorite low-key weekend stops. It's the perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon -- good beer, friendly staff, and a laid-back vibe that's never too crowded. The space itself is great -- high ceilings, big windows that let in tons of natural light, and a nice open layout. The outdoor patio overlooking the pond is especially beautiful when the weather's nice. It's also dog-friendly, which we love! Our pup is always happy to come along, and we even picked up one of their dog toys from the merch area -- easily her new favorite. They've got some fun merch for humans too. The beer selection is solid, with something for everyone. We've really enjoyed the Lil Louie Lager and Badger Club Amber, and they always have a few rotating taps that keep things interesting. The staff has been consistently friendly and welcoming every time we've visited. If there's one area for improvement, it's the atmosphere. The space itself is awesome, but it sometimes feels like it's missing a little energy I'd love to see more events, live music, or themed nights to bring the place to life. It has so much potential to be a real community hub. Overall, Wisconsin Brewing Company is absolutely worth checking out great beer, great staff, and a beautiful, dog-friendly spot to unwind. With just a little more happening in the space, it could easily be a five-star destination. read more

My adult kid recently moved to the area and this was on our list to try. We stopped in on July 4 close to 6 PM and heard they were closing. The female bartender/server behind the bar. It was super nice. She gave us a few samples to try, and then we placed our order for a Vienna beer and one other. We took it outside because they were closing early because of the holiday. Inside was super cool with tables. You can see the brewing tanks outside was equally as impressive with some patio tables and chairs as well as some chairs along the water and some outdoor games. I wish we had more time cause I would've loved to have tried some food and maybe some other beverages. Definitely will come back. read more

The bartender was condescending and rude upfront, dismissive of my request and questions. She was friendly to others who had unleashed dogs on site but to me and others who came with me, extremely cold and staring. I was surprised because my past numerous experiences here had only been positive and welcoming. I love to support local businesses but this one was such an anomaly of an encounter. Located near Madision, we stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. The inside and outside offer so many seating options. They have games, food trucks, fire pits and live music. The outdoor seating overlooks a pond and was beautiful. After a few tasting samplings, we settled on a flight served on a Wisconsin state shaped board. We enjoyed all of the beers and seltzer we tried. My husband enjoyed the Lil Louie Lager and Badger Club and Kiwi Strawberry Selzer was refreshing and not too sweet. We were here for a private party hosted by the UW Alumni Association. I am not sure we would have ventured here since it is a relatively long way from where we live and there are so many brewers and brewpubs around. We really enjoyed the spacious interior since it was unfortunately cold and blustery outside for late April. The outdoor space would have been great since it is a nice setting with fire pits, chairs, lawn games, and pond, etc. Perhaps we will stop again when on this side of town on a nice day to take in those features. We sampled a couple of beers the Lake Louie Pop. 834 pale ale - which was quite good and the Sandy Cheeks pineapple hefeweizen. I like hefeweizens so I was hesitant to order one with pineapple thinking it would be too fruity. In fact it was not and I really enjoyed it. There was food as part of this event but not sure if they usually have much to offer in that regard on a regular basis. The brewmasters talked gave us some history as part of this event and you really can tell they have a passion for their craft. First and foremost, the staff were so kind. I ordered the Sandy Cheeks which was perfect for someone who isn't a huge beer fan. I came with a few friends for trivia and it was full. I came here in a Saturday for a birthday party! Their tasting room has high ceiling and large beautiful windows that let in incredible natural Light! I had an opportunity to email ahead to verify their taproom hours with Sara who got back to me very quickly. When I stopped in I was impressed with how comfortable and spacious the environment was in the taproom. Both Sara and my bartender were very knowledgeable about their company and beer & helped set me up with my flight. There was a wide selection including their Lake Louie brand. I ended up leaving with brewery stickers (which I collect), a t-shirt (which I rarely buy when visiting breweries), and a growler of a seasonal dark wheat ale. Lucky me it was the end of the season so they had all the winter beers on tap and were trying to make room for the summer beers. All the beers we tried were super good, shared 2 flights or 4 beers each. Tons of room in this brewery, nice outdoor seating and an outdoor bar with taps. Lots of pups with their owners. This place is super cool! I really want to come back when it's warm. Their outdoor setup looks awesome. We came for a brewery tour and it was very enjoyable. Our tour guide was admittedly new and didn't yet know all the ins and outs of the brewery, but he was friendly and fairly knowledgeable regardless. The brewery itself was beautiful! It's pretty new, everything was shiny and clean. We saw the whole place in about 30 mins. The bar area was very nice. We stayed for a few brews and explored the gift shop. All the staff we spoke with was incredibly friendly. I absolutely plan to come back in the summer for some live music outdoor. Doggos welcome, big bonus! read more

This is a rather late review but we came here at the end of October for a group birthday brewery crawl. Wisconsin Brewing Company was the last leg of our trip and it was a good way to end our journey. The bartenders are super friendly, letting you sample their vast collection of beers on tap and patiently describing each on to our entire group. We had tried to schedule a tour online but it was closed for a special event. However, when we arrived and told the bartenders of our predicament, they managed to find an employee to give us the guided tour! Some could say, a brewery tour is a brewery tour is a brewery tour. Yes, but! You can tell the enthusiasm from the staff here and the pride in their immaculate vats and equipment. We got to walk into their giant refrigerator. The entire plant and building is spotless. The tour probably lasted 45 minutes, mostly because our group kept asking questions and bantering back and forth. At the end, there is a little souvenir store with their merchandise, I really wanted the Wisco shaped cheeseboard! The special event was a wedding reception and the staff were handing out pieces of leftover wedding cake. There are high top chairs and tables you could sit, or lounge on their sofas. They do not serve food here, but are very dog friendly! I picture bringing the dog inside during the hot summer time after the dog park in the near future! read more

Probably my favorite of the physical brewery facilities we visited on out little beercation. Set in a small industrial park in Verona, it's got ponds and trees (and angry geese) surrounding it and they took advantage, creating a great outdoor area. I can see having a great wedding or other event here, but in addition to an outdoor bar and seating area, they scattered Adirondack chairs and even a small fire pit around their grounds. It's peaceful and relaxing and a perfect place to settle back with some friends and pints. We were the only ones on our tour, so we got a very personal accounting from our guide, which was awesome. She had a passion for the place, loved showing it off and really pulled me in with the story. The lowdown? Wisconsin's brewmaster was at Capital for many, many years when he decided he'd reached the pinnacle of that part of his career. What's next? Open a brewery, of course. He took another Capital higher up with him and that cache meant that before they did anything, they had beaucoup bucks in investments. That means this shiny new brewery is state-of-the-art and built exactly to their specifications. The building has a wall meant to come down to accommodate expansion. They decided that if they were going to call themselves Wisconsin Brewing, they had to put their money where their mouth was, so as much as possible, everything in the building is sourced from in-state. I really loved the idea of being handed carte blanche on your dream/profession. Basically, he'd done enough in his life to earn the ability to make exactly what he wanted here. That's pretty damn awesome. It's Madison, so there are bike racks in back. The tasting room has plenty of tables, a big TV and lots of choices to sample. read more

We ran across this brewery by chance on Nov 4th and it happened to be their first week open. Brand new everything. We got a great tour from the president of the brewery. This place gets 5 stars for their cleanliness alone! Spotless! The tour guide was fairly knowledgeable...He was able to answer every question asked, except one....lol...where the yeast was kept. No points deducted there. The tour was free, However unless you're a real beer aficionado this tour may not be all that exciting due to it being a short tour that's not all that fancy or flashy. No food other than small, gourmet $4 bags of flavored popcorn is sold but I understand carry in is allowed. So are dogs. (Yay!) We visited on a Saturday, late afternoon and despite plenty of seating we couldn't get a spot, although the turnover did seem fast. There were approximately 10 beers on tap, which rotate seasonally. In the summer they have special events as well as live music and an outdoor patio. There is a small (free) parking lot and a fair amount of street parking. read more

Made the trek out here when the day got too hot to be outside. I got here right when they opened so I was the first visitor of the day, and really enjoyed it. The bartender was Dustin (Justin?) and was super helpful and friendly. I ordered a tasting of four 5-oz. beers, and he gladly picked the beers for me based on my tastes. I tried the Yankee Buzzard, Psychops, Zenith, and Ol' Reliable (I had already tried my favorite, the Blister in the Sun, at a local pub). The beers all had really nice flavor and were clean and balanced My only criticism is that because of the humidity, the last one I tried was not very cold by the time I got to it. It's not their fault, it's just that it was so stinkin' hot outside. Speaking of the outside, this brewery has a gorgeous location. If I was a local, this would be a regular stop for me on a beautiful fall or spring day. I have been here a handful of times but tonight was the best I've experienced yet! My friends suggested we stop in after dinner. It was the busiest it's been of any of the times I've been here! I guess I shouldn't have been surprised considering it was the perfect night to be enjoying a beer outside while listening to live music. There were people of all ages who were all seemingly content with their entertainment options. Some people were listening to music, some relaxing in the adirondack chairs next to the pond, other playing bag toss with their friends, some dancing to the great cover band, and others who were just enjoying walking around enjoying the sights. There was even room for kids to play and wander. With the nice weather, the outdoor bar was open and, of course, was the busiest bar. I suggest going to the inside bar for quicker service on nights when the outdoor bar is open. I wish I had thought of it sooner! Their bathrooms are nice and spacious and clean! They even had someone on toilet paper duty who came in to make sure it was properly stocked. Which is super awesome, because I can't tell you how many times I've got to a place where there's zero TP when it's needed most. I really like their beer selection. I like their Chocolate Lab Porter, as well as the S'Wheat Caroline. My boyfriend is an IPA guy and he prefers their Yankee Buzzard. They currently have a Saison available (I am not sure if it is always available or just seasonal) and I will order that next time. I sipped off my friend's glass and immediately regretted not ordering it for myself. The tour is fun to take, as well. Just be careful because the first time we put "Wisconsin Brewing Company" into our GPS, it took us to a random house rather than the actual brewery, which almost caused us to miss our tour. Thankfully, when we had called, the staff were friendly and let us know they would wait for us. So awesome. We will be sure to spend more of our summer nights here this summer and summers to come! read more

What a great little find in Verona, WI! I stopped by on a Friday morning for the WJJO Sound Lounge event. They were set up on the patio out back. It helped it was a beautiful morning, but what a great patio! The bar was well-placed and run by friendly faces. Everyone that was working the event was having fun and being very helpful. The patio overlooks a nice little pond and has a great, relaxing atmosphere. Their beer is tasty - no doubt about it. Come by and sample their various brews. I don't know what other events WBC hosts... (checks website, sees "calendar" link). Okay, go to their website and click on the calendar link - it looks like they do various live music events and fundraisers. Any reason to get out here! Wow. All I can say is: Wow! Ok....I guess that I can say a little more. I was taken here as the third stop on a busses in Beer Tour with Hop Head Tours (I'll post that wonderful review next), and they left the best for last. It was really a gorgeous building plopped down on the most beautiful grounds. The view of the setting sun, the low light and a crisp beer in hand was just perfect. Member of our group sat in chairs over looking the grounds and others played "corn hole" with the bean bag game. They offered either tastings or pints with approx 10 brews to choose from. I couldn't pass up a thing names "Menace II Sobriety". It had a STRONG nose, but a hoppy tart bold yumminess. If you are in the Greater Madison area, it's a must go! Great beer and people We hit WBC after New Glarus brewery. I liked WBC better! First off, the tap room was big. And the value was great. A flight of 12 was $14.50 I think. Anyway, aside from the IPA's (which I can't do) their beers were great. They have free guided tours, and we had a good time with that as well. Very new, and state of the art facility. Oh--and bring your dog! The taproom was very dog friendly, which made it even more fun! They even give away chocolate stout dog biscuits! Overall a great place and we will return! read more

What an amazing job this company has done. Awesome newer brewery built in a prime location! Wonderful location with places nearby, hotels, restuarants, and a winery! WBC has a wonderful staff, they are genuinely friendly people, they have a great marketing guy, a very knowledgable young lady for thier sales department, and most of all Kirby the head brewmaster paired with his.handpicked team of brewers! I stopped in the other day to see what they were all up too and got the tour of this place. I was absolutely blown away by the size, technology, cleanliness and so on. They are the up and coming brewery in the Madison area. They are just starting to scratch the surface and I am so happy for them. Now with the successful release of the rare and limited Whiskator, Depth Charge, and the newest edition Cupid's Envy. Now everyone is buzzing about this place. Boring beer, lack-luster service. Great outdoor space. Everything about this is geared toward the same people who find Chili's appetizing.

This is a nice casual place for people to hang out and listen to live music, eat catered BBQ food and drink tasty beer. One issue I have had is the very long restroom lines. There doesn't seem to be enough restrooms to accommodate the busy spring/summer events. The amount of people that attend some events here impacts parking options too. People get pretty aggressive out on the adjacent streets trying to vie for a parking spot on the street. The beer lines tend to be really long too. You basically need to have one person from your group in the line at all times to get a larger group hydrated. We were in line to grab some BBQ items. By the time we got to the front of the line, all they had left was brats (and the condiments were out). So it was bare brats for dinner. read more

The beer is good and it's a little out of the way if you're in Madison proper, but it gets bumped up to a 5 because of the environment. You're probably here because you're trying to relax, stretch out on the lawn, and maybe listen to a band. On that it will deliver in spades. Whether it's 80s night or the Pumpkin Chuck, it makes the most of the backyard and outside space. I'd recommend the Porter Joe or, if they have it, Cupid's Envy. read more
