I am writing to inform family and friends of what occurred with the My Silver Attic Estate…read moreLiquidator in Lincoln Nebraska.  My parents are in their eighties and my mother signed the contract with this company to have an estate sale and full house clean out because they were moving to an independent living apartment and selling their home. They had a 4-bedroom home plus items from when they were snowbirds in Arizona.  Their possessions were not junk, but nice furniture, decorations, kitchen items, and some tools. The estate sale was held in April and we are told it brought in around $8,300.  The check my mother received from the sale of all their lifelong possessions was $36.90. When I called Brian on June 23, he explained that they took 45% off the top, then 96 hours at $30/hour for the work they did and two dumpster charges. This just doesn't seem right!  I have asked for a copy of the contract and invoice showing the charges and told they would send it to me via email.  However, I have contacted them twice by phone and once via their website, but still have not received what I asked.  My elderly parents have nothing to show for all these possessions that are now gone!  It doesn't seem right!  This company also keeps some of the furniture and can resell it at other sales and keep the money for themselves! Had my mother understood this when booking this company, she would not have signed to have a full house clean out, but moving is stressful at their age and she trusted these people.  Isn't 45% off the top of the sale enough?  Who knew they took all these extra fees too! Beware!

Grumpy and unreliable…read more Following a death in the family, I reached out to Olson Auction for help liquidating the assets of my aunt's estate. My initial call went directly to Darrell Olson's (the owner's) voicemail. I left a message yet did not receive a call back. I called again two days later and got through to Mr. Olson, only to have him tell me he needed to call me back. Once we finally connected, he came off almost annoyed and spoke over me multiple times when I was explaining my family's situation. Shrugging it off, I set up a time for Mr. Olson and I to meet at my aunt's house to review her belongings. The day of the meeting, I confirmed the time with Mr. Olson over the phone. Our meeting time came and went...no Mr. Olson. I call him 45 minutes after our meeting was supposed to start and he answered his phone and acted confused stating "his guys" must be en route. After waiting another 30 minutes, I concluded that Olson's must be too busy to help my family in this time of need. I'm giving my business to YAP or Cornwell.

I went to the Brix Village Point auction at the Auction Solutions location at 78th and Military and…read moreI had an amazing time. You walk in and check in with the employees. They were super nice, accommodating, and answered all of my questions beforehand. It was a two-ring auction so basically, two auctions were going at the same time by two different auctioneers nearly right next to each other; so you had to really concentrate on the auctioneer that you wanted to pay attention to. The auctioneers were great and were super nice throughout the entire 6 hour auction. At the item pickup at the Brix location that following week, someone gave out all but one bottle in a lot of 9 bottles that I purchased to another person by mistake. It was for the better as the beer that the other person was supposed to get was of a better variety than the beer I would have gotten. Also, they couldn't find one of my six packs of booze for another lot so they ended up calling me a few weeks later and I had to run out to 78th and Military to grab it. Kind of inconvenient but it was nice to get out of the office. Figuring all of the booze in different lots, and all of the bidders, having only these two mishaps for me was pretty dang good. All in all, one of the funnest, best auctions I've been to. If I see another auction that I'm interested in and Auction Solutions is holding it, I'll definitely go.

On advertising as promised. Only 3 hour pick up time for a household of items. Not all listed. They would also clean out what was left. I did myself or we would have not made any money. This was a sale of many beautiful antiques. If you need a lot of help in clearing out a home, this may be for you but be aware of all the charges and what sale items you may have.
