I admit though, I was surprised to see the signs as well as some reviews claiming the fries were good, because our two orders (one as poutine), were really soft and greasy. My biggest dissappointment though, was the cheese burger. The fried onions made the dish, but the actual meat patties were tough and chewy. While we won't be back, we are glad we tried, and totally understand why it's been around as long as it has. Denny's is 100% classic.

I think better than half the orders we saw passing by us were fish and chips, which looked wonderful. My wife opined that it looks like this place knows how to do fried foods. The guy running it is Canadian politeness personified - all manners and friendliness. They also offer pop, chips and freezies - all at a reasonable price. While I normally have the hot dog - today I enjoyed the jalapeno sausage - and while it's only available for a limited time I can assure you it was endlessly delicious. With a pop and small bag of chips it came to a whopping $6.50 - which is a pretty hard deal to beat. *PRO-TIP* After countless trips I only just learned today that they do offer mayonnaise, but you have to ask for it as they keep it in the fridge.* it can get busy on nice days but that's really just a testament to how good the food is and that the prices are right. If you're looking for a quick meal enjoyed al fresco you could do far worse. Top Dogs is about an apt a description as you're going to get!
