Terrible food and Customer Service. Have enjoyed Grog's pizza in the past. Tonight I ordered a Taco Salad that came with Lettuce, Cheese, a few clumps of cold hamburger and a handful of tomatoes. Also, French dressing (I think) on the side. I ended up not eating it. The waitress took it away. Was asked if I wanted anything else - no Thanks, since my husband was half through his nachos which were good but not great. Whoever was in charge this evening would not take my lettuce/cheese salad off of the bill. We will never eat there again! read more

Great meal we decided that was our destination on a sunny but icy road trip...2 hours driving. Great staff...love you Gail...and Great food and love the wood smoke. BUT...when we left someone else made us decide we would NEVER RETURN...got in car and brought up google maps to find directions to next stop and my 97yo mom called and I answered. She's 97 and it was AN EMERGENCY .... Guy in a big $100k pickup truck wanting my parking spot lost his poop as I talked to her. Honked at me several times then got out and pounded my window saying in much filthier vernacular to move my stupid fat vagina .. then blocked me from reversing. Seriously? If this is your clientele and their reactions at wanting my spot near the door vs a few spots away near back of Grogs we will NEVER RETURN. Nothing like threats of physical violence to finish a meal on a LOWER THAN DIRT note. He actually told me to smother my mom jn her sleep so I would be less of a parking spot hogging vaginal area. ...nice. We will never return if that is your clientele. read more

Zero complaints. We came for a quick dinner with our baby. We had the tomato soup, salmon and fish and chips. Everything was really tasty. The portions were a great size, especially the fish and chips. I got the 2 piece and could have just gotten 1. Service was fast, attentive, and very kind to our baby who was making a bit of a mess. Bah. Less than mediocre pizza, pretty terrible nachos. The nachos were baked and layered, but they were overdone, browned and very dry. The shredded cheese on the top was dry and flavorless and most toppings just fell off and had to be scooped up or eaten with a fork. Pizza was bland, but looked really good. The sauce had no flavor, the cheese had no flavor, but the crust actually looked decent, but just didn't deliver. Not really a bad experience, but I really couldn't recommend this place based on the food. Very boring. read more

To be perfectly honest, I went in to this restaurant expecting to be disappointed. I have had some terrible dining experiences in the Grand Bend area. It's touristy so I feel like most restaurants don't even try; they know people will still eat there. I was pleasantly surprised when my food here turned out to be excellent! If you are staying at the Pinery or somewhere in the Grand Bend area, make the short drive out to Grog's if you want a good meal. My husband and I split an appetizer of shrimp scampi which came with 6 good sized shrimp, covered in garlic butter, onion and a layer of melted, toasty cheese. They were excellent! Very rich and flavorful. For our main course, we split 20 wings which we ordered "naked" with Franks Red Hot on them and ranch on the side to dip. The wings were great - not too big and not too small either. Even without breading they had a great flavor and were nice and meaty. I can't speak for the other flavors but the Franks / ranch combo is divine! The service was great and we had no complaints. As a heads up, pop comes in cans so there's no free refills. Next time we camp at the Pinery we will definitely eat here again! read more

Anytime anyone mentions Grog's they get super excited-- the pizza, the wings, such a great place etc. And I have to say, I've been here a couple of times in the warmer seasons and felt the same. Today we came in with a group from the Silverstick Tournament and I thought it would be "fine". Instead it was -- amazing! Food was great and the service was out of this world. Arrived from way out of town during an epic snowstorm with an entire youth hockey team and their families in tow. 50+ crashed this great place, and even though they were greatly understaffed, the girls did a fantastic job! Arrived at 730pm & was put on a waiting list for 30-40mins. We were a party of 5, while we waited in their waiting area we watched other groups of 5 arrive after us & be seated. Finally went to the hostess & asked & they couldn't find us. We were then seated at a picnic table outside at 820pm. Ordered out apps & entres right away & waited until 920pm for our food. As I watch others arrive after us, get their food & leave before we even received our food. Generally a very good place to eat. Tonight was not good at all 2 had Mac n cheese & it was taste less. Burgers were good & pizza was good. i totally understand as the place was busy but the 2hrs for being seated & getting food is crazy. read more

Grog's is such an awesome restaurant! The food is out of this world, and service is always friendly :) They have a very large and diverse menu, so there's something for everyone. The atmosphere is great, and the decor is simple. A few things to watch out for: 1. They no longer take reservations so wait times during busy hours could take a while, especially for larger groups 2. They are a very busy restaurant, so food does sometimes take a while to arrive at the table 3. The place could get noisy during peak hours Even if you do not live in the area, the drive up to Grog's is totally worth it! I would recommend this place to everyone! :) read more

Great place to stop for lunch or supper after a day at the beach. Beautiful patio at the back nicely decorated with hanging flower baskets. Friendly wait staff serving great food. Had a loaded pizza with an extreme bean Caesar. Nice crispy crust with just the right amount of cheese and toppings. Would highly recommend. read more

The pizza looks fantastic as many tables around us were enjoying it. We had their famous wings and they were delicious. Happy to see that they cater to the kids too wih a kids menu. I had the large panzerotti with pepperoni, tomato, mushroom, onion and black olive. It was baked to perfection. Not like your traditional very heavy doughy panzerotti. This was thin light dough filled with great fresh fillings. I also had a side salad with their house sundries tomato dressing. It was delicious. read more

I honestly love this place - as do my kids. We stop here almost every time we are in the area - which is fairly frequently. I suppose I should start by acknowledging two things: yes, the place is often quite busy and as a result - it can get pretty loud. However, I would say that it's busy because it is so good and furthermore the volume really doesn't bother me to much. If you show up at dinner time on the weekend there is a reasonable chance you could be waiting for a while and the place will be full ... and not quiet. Of course, up in 'cottage country' there are only a few good reasons why anyone should be in a hurry. They are well known for their pizza - and with good reason, it really is quite good. They also have a quite diverse menu and offer a lot of good beers on tap - increasingly local craft beers to boot. There are a number of TVs around - all playing sports - and the atmosphere is perfectly suited to enjoying a few cold beverages with a group. On my last visit I had the wings, which were good but not great although my favourite part is that the menu listed them simply as 'market price'. This was a first for me. (I think it ended up being about $12.00 for ten.) There was a group of nine of us and everyone enjoyed their meals, as we have countless times before. This is by no means a gourmet restaurant and they simply are not trying to be. it's beer and wings and burgers and pizza and assorted pub food with friendly service. It's likely going to be loud and busy so you might want to avoid the busy hours or altogether if this is not your thing. I've long thought that perhaps the food seems better after some time camping or at a cottage but the truth is that its just honestly good food. It's not expensive but not exactly cheap either - a meal with beverage is likely going to be somewhere around $20 per person - less for kids provided they order off the kids menu - which is also relatively extensive. Anyways, we've tried many of the restaurants in the Port Franks/Grand Bend area and this is one of the select few we consistently return to - for all the reasons listed above and more. It's not perfect, and they've had their off days but still one of the best options in the area. read more

Had a great first experience here a few days ago. Everything you want a pub to be. Good beer and great food and friendly service. The menu is extensive and serves your typical pub grub. The pizza and zany bread live up to their reputations. They have a separate kids menu and is a great place for families. The place was packed so reservations for groups is wise. Seemed like many people in there knew each other which only added to the local joint feel. read more

She would not admit that she forgot to put our order in... after we waited 30 minutes she came back to ask what we had ordered. Never filled up our drinks. Literally leaving the parking lot trying not to vomit, this was the grossest place I have ever eatten. Place was full of flies, ordered mexi fries (seems simple and safe... Or so I thought) the dry 5 day old fries were covered in 3 week old ground beef! Not seasoned or maybe it was 3 weeks ago. Nothing mexican about it. Dry nasty nasty food, tried to order desert, insted of eatting my old beef... 90% of the stuff they had on the desert menu, they didnt have.
