this place is more like a 3.5 stars out of 5. We are never in the area, but had to be in this city for a photoshoot. We wanted to check out a top rated restaurant, and this place popped up on yelp. Luckily, when we went it was not crowded and there were no lines to order food. We ended up getting one guacamole, a mushroom swiss burger and homemade chips that came with a side of ranch. Both burgers were good, but one thing i'd recommend was to use less salt on the patty. The patty on the swiss burger was a bit salty. Also, it took a while to get the food. if you're allergic to peanuts, don't come here. they have free peanuts for people to scoop from the soda machine. it looks like this place has two stories, but when we went the top floor was closed for a private event. People working here are friendly. The interior was interesting... they have a lot of road signs and signs of old stores. A few TVs around the floor as well. read more

Simply the best burger in Burleson. I've been coming here for years and the complete vibe and food quality makes this place famous. The staff is always nice and let me tell you about the ice cream. They use blue bell ice cream and oh man is it great. The burgers are great and so are the French fries. Can get busy, but they have additional seating areas up stairs. The service is always perfect. They're very eager to help you out. Take care of you and help you out with anything you need! While heading out from Dallas I got the major craving for a good and local burger in the area as we made our way back home to Austin. We saw Grumps Burgers come up on our search for local, burger, and classic spots and decided to hop off of IH 35 and stop in. Upon walking in we. might have hit a lunch crowd on a Monday as the line was almost all the way back to the door. So many people waiting to place their order but not for long. The line went very quickly and allowed me time to figure out what I was going to have. We opted for a classic cheeseburger and a side of fries. I was a fan of their buns, seasonings on the burger meat, and was super surprised to see they offer small baskets of roasted peanuts for free! It was a nice appetizer to have while we waited for our food to come out straight to our table. Service was fast and friendly which was ideal for lunch time and for travelers like us. Looking around the dining areas you will find many vintage and local newspapers, thank you letters/cards/celebrity photos, and sports memorabilia all over the walls and ceilings. if you need an easy in and out spot and close to Grumps Burgers I would highly recommend you coming in. Service is good, form a line and order off the big board, 15 minutes later you have a solid burger. Jalapeño bun is great holds up well for the cheeseburger. Great burgers and casual place to grab a bite in Old Town Burleson. It's counter order but servers bring the food to the table when ready. You can scoop up a bowl of peanuts by the drink machine and munch while you wait. A "Chip Tray" is an ideal starter. Generous portion of homemade potato chips and three dipping sauces: ranch, queso and salsa. Take in all the old signs and historic memorabelia that line the walls while you dip and sip! If you start with a chip tray, a junior burger from the kids menu (available for all) might be big enough to fill you up the rest of the way. I went all out though and ordered a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. Terrific! Old Town parking can get scarce but we parked across the tracks and added just a few more steps for the day. read more

I went here awhile back because I've heard from several people I know they think this place has pretty good burgers. Weekend night, and while the parking sucks at this time, it wasn't that hard to find a spot and I don't mind walking a short block. No big deal. I got there around 8 pm, and not a big line. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, fries, drink, just the basics. Found a table, there is also seating upstairs but I didn't check that out. Grabbed some peanuts, (great perk, sometimes I really go for some peanuts) and waited. Just about the time I finished the peanuts my food was ready. The bacon cheeseburger was good. Everything was fresh, lettuce tomato were good. It was a good burger, larger than average, but the patty was a little well done for me and this made it dry, still a pretty good burger. The fries appeared to be, what I call "fresh cut frozen". Skin on fries that have that fresh cut look, but have the taste and texture of frozen. They texture had kind of a overly crisp on the outside but mushy on the inside feel, like frozen fries can be. Taste was okay, but I didn't really care for them overall. Anyway, I still think the place is good. You get a little hiccup every now and then. If the patty wasn't dry, that would've help my attitude a lot. However, I wouldn't hesitate to visit again sometime in the future. They have a pretty big menu and I can always try the onion rings. read more

The women who took our order must have been having a bad day because she hardly looked up from the register and was somewhat rude when we asked a question. It was our first time here so we did not know exactly how it worked. There is downstairs and upstairs self seating. We had to sit upstairs because the downstairs area was full. Burgers were good and So were the fries. I was disappointed with the onion rings. The batter was flavorless and there was hardly an onion slice inside. My husband y said my bbq burger was better than his avocado burger. I didn't taste any bbq flavor so not sure why it is called that. I love the location of this place! Walking in, the decor is awesome as well. My husband and I went to the counter to order and wasn't greeted with a smile... just a, "what would you like to order?". We had never been there so it took us a minute. I ordered the blue cheese burger cooked medium with fried pickles and my husband had the BBQ bacon burger with sweet potato fries. We both ordered our burger medium. The food came out quickly! The fried pickles were delicious. They were thin, crispy, hot and perfectly cooked. My burger was perfect. It was juicy and a pretty decent size. I couldn't finish it all. My husband loved his burger as well. There was a young lady who worked on the floor who was very nice and helpful. I had the cheeseburger, hubs had the guac burger, we ordered fries and onion rings and ranch and a side of queso, and I would stand to bet the queso and ranch is made in house. Both were excellent! Grump's in Old Town Burleson has a darn good burger. I should enjoy one more often. We were welcomed the moment we walked in the door by an energetic employee playing cashier and training someone. We ordered in the most confusing way but everything still came out perfect. Mom had a 1/4 pound burger and I had a cheeseburger. We shared a small fry and fried pickles. Every single item was delicious. Their fountain drinks are Dublin brand so if you prefer the original coke for example you may want tea or water. The decor of the restaurant is very interesting. A lot to discover while waiting on our order to be brought to the table. Parking is usually extremely challenging in Old Town but at 5:45pm on a Monday evening it was plentiful. read more
