Good food. Excellent service and food was great. A lot of locals came in and out, and it helped show the friendliness from the community.

Definitely that old bar style. Stuff just gets added and added over time. The food was good and fitting for the spot.

We got in and sat pretty quickly, had our drink orders taken but were waiting on some more people so we waited to order food. It was pretty loud in here!! Of course it is a bar and it was a Saturday night and college sports ball was on the TVs so what do you expect?? I got the fried green tomato BLT which was good. All the sammiches come with pork rinds () but you can sub fries or other sides if you want. I didn't care one way or another, I just gave them to my brother and his wife since they like them. My son ordered fries but didn't get them, he got rinds as well but when I pointed it out the fixed it right quick!! Also my wife asked for a side of buffalo sauce which was forgotten buuuut when it was mentioned they fixed that quickly as well. Kudos on the fixing!! All in all it was pretty good- it is dog friendly in case you are so inclined, one couple had their dog out on the patio (sidewalk) and another guy had his dog inside at the bar with him. read more

This place is always busy so I was excited to give it a try! We went around 2 on a weekday, trying to avoid the rush. Started with the fried avacado with garlic aioli - it was delightful - not greasy or heavy! My wife got the steakhouse smash burger and was very pleased. I built my own smash burger. Stopped in with my fiancé on Saturday for lunch. We got apps that were very good- we tried the deep fried pita with dips and the cauliflower appetizer. I appreciated the vegetarian options! I've gotten my GRÜV on three times now, but I still can't dance worth a lick. This place's food, however, is definitely worth a lick. I'd lick anything there, quite frankly. The "Say Cheese" Burger had me saying, "I want to shake your hand," because it was so good. Sadly, it had no hand to shake, because I bit it off. As did I with the rest of the delicious sandwich. I'll be as bold to say it's the best-tasting burger I've ever had. I drove myself to jail afterwards because the combination of pimento cheese and hot pepper jelly should be illegal. It's the only burger I know where you actually can forget for a minute there is bacon on it. There are other burgers out there, but I simply do not care. Delicious, fresh, and hot food! We were craving a good burger some long hours in on our roadtrip and GRÜV got our attention with its menu variety and affordable prices. Great serving staff that was able to answer our questions about items and the interior of the place itself was homey and welcoming as if we were in a sports bar back in our town. Can't recommend their burgers enough, absolutely would love to go back to Charleston someday and try their other items! read more

The wings here were ok. They come plain with dipping sauce. The sauces were good. The fried green tomato batter needs more seasoning. It is really bland. My family thought there chicken wraps were mid and none of them ate much of it. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. We have experienced the hospitality of The Gruv before, but we had an opportunity to order for our office for 8 people. Absolutely the best experience!! We ordered the "Say cheese" smashburger, a couple of salads (they were HUGE), a couple of girls got Buffalo chicken wraps, boneless wings, black bean patty and a variety of different appetizers-fried avocado, brussel sprouts, pretzel bites....In one word....AMAZING!!! Knocked it out of the park! Chef's kiss and hat's off to the cooks, staff and the owner!!! You all are amazing and highly recommended!!
