Absolutely fantastic. As a native New Yorker, I've eaten at lots of great places and can be a bit picky. This restaurant was by far the tastiest, most flavorful food I've had in all of Charleston. We started with the gumbo and it's comparable to my favorite gumbo I get in NJ. Smoky, well seasoned, and lots of meat. For the main, I got the alligator po boy which was huge. The alligator tasted like chicken with a fish-like bite to it. The batter on it was delicious and well seasoned. Same can be said with the Cajun fries. My boyfriend got the chicken pastalaya and it was super creamy and had so much flavor. Our waitress was super sweet. She kept apologizing for the wait but I really didn't think we were waiting at all she was the only waitress working and she was kept busy. I thought it was so sweet for her to apologize but none was needed! She felt very attentive. Music choice was also great, playing old classics. Definitely will be back for the beignets! read more

Wow, you all really want to go out of business. You have a great menu and delicious food but your front of the house staff is just bad, bad. Rather serve the managers son or whoever shots at the bar than wait her table. Won't come check on us. I'm literally sitting here at 2:38 on a Friday, got her and hour and a half ago and been waiting on our server to give half a care about us. Had to go to the bar to get refills cause shots for the staff is way better than the customer. Do better. This is dumb you are letting this happen. read more

Got both catfish Poor Boy one with fries and the other with Gumbo. The Catfish was too salty for my taste and the Gumbo was bland. The service was fast and personal-but we were the only one there. Others came in as we left. Tried an Old fashion and switched to Jack and Coke. Ambiance was really New Orleans. I wanted food from the dinner menu and thought the only ones there @ 1430, was told not even a option. My family tried bourbon street bistro yesterday. We go there for an early dinner around 4pm. We ordered Louisiana style chickory coffee which was delicious. I ordered the sampler and it was really good. I really liked the Jambalaya. My girlfriend had the oysters and they were very good. I really liked the smoky flavor. My daughter had the pasta. It was thick creamy and delicious as well. I also had some gator bites at the end just for curriousity. They were juicy and delicious. Our bill was about 100 bucks. You should probably expect to spend 20-30 dollars a person. The service was also fast and friendly. Chef Curtis stopped by and checked in on us personally. We stopped and tried their EXCELLENT food and cute atmosphere. They also had neat and fun specialty drinks. But Avoid the bar top area with food. Bar top was too tall for drinks and uncomfortable to eat at. There was also better service at tables, as they rotate the door. The fried green tomatoes were fire! read more

My husband and I visited this Cajun restaurant on 4/3/2026, and while there were some real highlights, the overall experience left us slightly disappointed. To start with the positives: the environment was inviting, upbeat music was playing as we walked in, and the whole place had a lively, welcoming vibe. We saw guests at nearby tables laughing and enjoying themselves, which made us excited for our meal. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. We waited over 10 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and when our waitress finally arrived, she came across as unfriendly and uninterested in serving us. It set an uncomfortable tone for the rest of the meal. The appetizers, however, were outstanding. The deep‑fried deviled eggs were honestly the best we've ever had -- and we've tried them in several major cities. They were so good my husband is already trying to recreate them at home. The hushpuppy basket was also excellent: piping hot, light, and clearly cooked in clean oil. Those two items alone showed that the kitchen is capable of great things. But then came the biggest disappointment. Our entrees arrived at the exact same time as the appetizers, and both were not served at the correct temperature. I ordered the crawfish étouffée ($28) and expected a rich, warm broth. Instead, the temperature was neither hot nor warm -- just cool enough that the fat in the sauce hadn't even melted together. My husband's jambalaya was the same way. The flavors were good, but the temperature made the dishes unenjoyable. We ended up asking for to‑go containers and decided they'd probably be better reheated for lunch the next day. Overall, the flavor of the food was on point, and the ambience is clearly something the owners have put thought into. I would happily come back again and again for the appetizers alone. The charbroiled oysters are AMAZING!! We tried the etouffee, gumbo, jambalaya and swamp poppers(Cajun shrimp). Everything was good, the wait staff very nice and attentive. Full service bar there for those needing a cold one with their Cajun. It was an hour and a half drive for us one way and I'd do it weekly just for the Oysters!! read more

I came here with my work group of 7 for our Christmas dinner and it was pretty good! I will say the temperature sucked, every time the door opened you were frozen to death so dress accordingly lol. The ambience was fun and I'm sure in the summer you could imagine being in Louisiana eating here. I had the shrimp étouffée and it was very different. Not bad, but definitely on the spicy side. We shared the shrimp and gator appetizers with some hush puppies and honestly those stole the show for me. I could make a meal out of those alone. Then we had bread pudding for dessert because they were out of the beignets sadly, but it was rather tasty as well. This restaurant has things specifically shipped like the gator and certain breads from Louisiana to keep it as close to original as possible so give grace if they're out of things when you eat there. Overall, service was fine. All of the food was severely oversalted. Like inedible. I ordered the étouffée and a side of collards, my husband had the red fish. All our food was way too salted as well as the other couples we were dining with. Also, the "shrimp" in my étouffée, that I had added, was chopped up scraps of shrimp. Not authentic. Had lunch there today. Started with deep fried deviled eggs as our appetizer & they were great! Most in our party has the Po Boys & they were HUGE & delicious.
