It's still a Shell station with a nice market. Louie's is one of two stores in town with an active deli counter. Their deli counter opens early to serve breakfast casseroles and gravy to folks heading into work. The cold case is always well-stocked with grab and go options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and even desserts. They have a good selection of quality meats, which I personally believe rivals the local supermarket. Louie's has a nicely stocked fresh produce section too. The staff behind the deli counter, cashiers, and even those restocking shelves have always been friendly, courteous, and helpful to me over the years I've been coming here. You might wonder why I give Louise five stars. They may not be a Whole Foods or a high-end specialty store, but those stores are in a different category and comparing Louie's to them wouldn't be fare. On their own merits, Louie's is doing a great job of being a small, clean, well-stocked market with convenient business hours.

We had high hopes for G's Pizzeria Bar & Grill, but unfortunately this was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. From the moment we walked in, it was clear the restaurant was struggling. The air conditioning was not working, making the dining room extremely uncomfortable on a hot day. While speaking with one of the employees, we learned that management has been aware of the issue for quite some time. We were told the owner only allows the thermostat to be set to a certain temperature, and that a part of the air conditioning system broke during the winter, was repaired, worked for only two days, and then failed again. According to the employee, they are still waiting for it to be fixed. If that's true, it's disappointing that a known issue affecting both customers and employees has been allowed to continue. Staffing was clearly another major problem. There were only two servers trying to manage a packed dining room, with kitchen staff coming out to help whenever they could. While I genuinely felt bad for the employees doing their best under difficult circumstances, it's ultimately management's responsibility to ensure the restaurant is adequately staffed. We had to wait to be seated despite several empty tables because there weren't enough employees available to bus and clean them. Once we were finally seated, our drink order was taken fairly quickly. We asked for a drink menu but were told they didn't have one. After that, we waited an exceptionally long time just to receive our drinks. We ordered one large G Super Pizza and two kids' cheese pizza meals. Then we waited...and waited. During that time, three other families who were seated after us were served their meals, finished eating, paid, and left the restaurant before our food ever arrived. That alone should have been a clear indication that something had gone wrong with our order. After a considerable amount of time, we asked about our food and were simply told they were "working on it." Concerned by the delay, we asked to speak with a manager and were told the manager was out delivering food. Eventually, a man came to our table, listened to our concerns, and told us he would check on our order and come back with an update. He never returned. As we continued waiting, another server came to our table and asked if we were waiting for our bill. We explained that we weren't waiting for the bill--we were still waiting for our food and had already spoken with the manager. To our surprise, this server informed us that there actually wasn't a manager working that day. So the person we had been led to believe was the manager wasn't even part of management. That only added to the confusion and highlighted the lack of organization and accountability. After nearly two hours in the restaurant with nothing to show except our drinks, we finally walked to the front and told them we wanted to leave and pay for what we had actually received. At that point, we were once again told that our pizza would be coming out "very soon." After hearing that same response repeatedly for almost two hours, we declined and explained that we were done waiting. What happened next was completely unacceptable. A staff member--who was not our server and whom I had overheard say she worked in the kitchen--began yelling at my 70-year-old father, telling him to "just leave" and that she would "cover our effing bill." There is absolutely no excuse for speaking to any customer that way, especially someone who had remained patient and respectful throughout the entire ordeal. I want to be clear that my frustration is not directed at the servers, who appeared overwhelmed and were trying their best in an impossible situation. This experience reflects poor management, inadequate staffing, lack of communication, and an apparent disregard for both employees and customers. A sincere apology and honest updates throughout the evening would have gone much further than empty promises that our food would be out "soon." Needless to say, we will never return to G's Pizzeria Bar & Grill, nor will we recommend it to anyone else. There are too many restaurants that value their customers' time and treat people with respect to justify giving this establishment another chance. read more

G's has good food and at a decent price point, but they seem to be slaking on training their wait staff. I don't want to see my waiter/waitress sitting down talking to her friends at a table or on their cellphone when our drinks are sitting on the table empty. It's just plain rude and unprofessional. I understand that most of the wait staff doesn't do these things, but the select few have ruined Oscoda G's for me. Service is key. read more

The food is amazing, but the service at the restaurant is terrible and the staff is clueless depending on when you go. Long time customer here. I called at 5:15 pm on Mother's Day to place a delivery order. It rang for several minutes and the asked me to enter some sort of code. I tried again and got the same result.
