Great stop on the way to the cabin. The place was happening on this Sat night when we visited. We called ahead and placed a carry out order and arrived to find very helpful and energetic staff. Decent selection of beers to enjoy while waiting for your order to be ready. We ordered a small one topping (pineapple) for $8 and one large unlimited (we have 5 toppings) for $15. Everything was devoured, and our guests commented again and again that they just couldn't believe how spectacular the pizza is here in little ol' Hale, Michigan. Pizza, sub and bbq sandwiches were all great. Food came out fast and was delicious. We came with 3 kids and they loved the free mrs. Packman game to play. When we come back to this area we will def be back here. They also have a small outdoor area to eat/drink at when the weather is nice. read more

Food and service are very good but the owner and back of house staff need to clean up their act. They come out into the dining area on breaks and to do paperwork. Filthy clothes and dirty hair on those who may be in contact with your food is NOT appetizing. They need to be more professional. This place is excellent. Perfect blend of small town appeal and delicious (and almost too reasonably priced) fare. Have hit this place up a few times on vacation to the lake and had to give this place some kudos. Pizzas are really good, BBQ is even better (pulled chicken is our favorite), and they have a full bar. Heads up, it's super busy on weekends and there will be a wait, including take-out. THIS USED TO BE SO GOOD! New owners raised the price and stopped smoking the chicken and pork that was the reason we drove 250 miles to get this pizzia. I hope they go back to making pizza the way it was. The fries are good though. Watch the prices if you get a cheese or one item pizzia you are fine, but if you get more than one item (which they do not put very much on) they do not charge per item they charge you for an unlimited pizza. 2 items or 10 same price. I do not want 10 items. We asked for bacon and got one piece crumbled up on a med pizza, they charged us 37 dollars for 2 med pizzas and one order of fries. Way to much money. read more

Poor customer service. Delivery driver had dropped order on driveway, did not take care of it like he told me. A different time I placed an order for a certain burger and it did not come like it was supposed to, called and they stated that they would comp the next one. Today I went in and they wanted me to pay for my burger. Last few times, chicken wings were dry & seemed to be from lunchtime verses what was the current dinner time those days. Breadsticks are unbelievably greasy to the point of dripping all over the place like melting ice cream, pizza makes the whole family's stomachs hurt every time on separate occasions so that's out too. sooooo yeah. Foodquality has gone down. Made two visits this summer. Rib dinners for two to go- ribs dry and overcooked and went in the garbage. New place in town. This place is a really nice surprise, we were just short of shocked when we entered. Very well appointed and cute. Clean as a whistle, with owners who are there most all of the time and who care about what comes out of the kitchen. Pimarily some different types of Pizza, good Subs, BBQ, and Salads I had the BBQ Brisket Sub which was very good at $4.99 and my wife had the Wings which were $5.99 for 8 wings. Finally Hale has a great pizza place! They have good hours and great food! Unlimited toppings on a large pizza for $14.99. Remarkable. The restaurant is small but has outdoor seating. They also serve Pepsi-cola products but do not have a liquor license. Still a great place to try. Still plan on trying the BBQ! read more

We are here in town for several weeks and decided to stop at Main Street for ribs. Their smoker is out in the front parking lot and we wanted to try the BBQ. For the most part the ribs were very good, although the sauce was very dark and the ribs bordered on being charred too much. Some people like their ribs that way, but some members at our table thought that the sauce was "burned". I thought the ribs were yummy! I had the coleslaw and thought it was a little too bland - not enough zip! I bought the Yelp promotion ($25 food certificate for $20) and the server and manager didn't know what to do with it! I said that next time I was in I would call first and let them know I would be using the promotion, and they better have it figured out! This place does quite a lot of business for a small town restaurant-a lot of carry out too. Let's hope they continue to be a success! read more

After reading the reviews for this restaurant, we wanted to try it for ourselves. Our opinion of the place began as soon as we got out of our cars with a large BBQ smoker in the parking lot. Wow, it smelled great! There were nine of us and we chose to be seated on the rear deck. Our server was Michelle and she was polite, professional and personable. Between all of us we had barbecue, Italian, and plain American from the menu. Everyone was happy with the portions, taste and price. Great job you guys!
