My wife's soup was rancid (spoiled) and smelled horrible and my sandwich was a pile of soggy grease soaked bread.The watress came back and told us she checked the soup and in fact it was spoiled and had to be thrown out. What bothered us the most is she told us not to bother complaining because it would fall on deaf ears. We have not been back since. We go to the East Tawas location instead. read more

Yes, when you want pizza and you are in Oscoda, this is the place to order pizza from or eat in. I'm Italian and grew up in a restaurant so I know my sauce. The pizza sauce is some of the best I've ever tasted. The pizza is just like the real stuff I had as a kid, real cheese, fresh toppings and that sauce is just so f'ing amazing. So we ordered a carry out tonite. They said it would be 40 mins. Show up in 40 mins, waited 15 mins to get helped to get my carry out. Finally cashed out and waited another 5 mins to get my cold pizza. I guess I shouldn't have tipped for the carryout. (Won't happen again.) While I waited you can see directly in the kitchen, a pizza was made wrong and I legitimately watched the waitress take the pizza in the back and proceed to pick off whatever wasn't suppose to be on it and shuffle the rest of the toppings around with her finger tips and take it right back to the table. The food isn't as good as the G's in Tawas. I think the food is priced too high for what you get. Sometimes the service is slow. Depending on who's cooking your may taste great or it could be greasy and tasteless. If this G's cooked to the same standards as Tawas I might eat there more. Pizza was decent. However, the salad shouldn't be called a salad unless you call a big mac a salad. The lettuce was the slightly brown shredded iceberg that you get on a big mac. If you're expecting a nice refreshing salad, then make one when you get home, but don't buy one here. Also, my pregnant wife had to wait 45 minutes for her flatbread after the waiter forgot to put it in. She took it to go to eat it in the car. Almost got a 5 star, but the lettuce on the salad bar looked limp & brown, and the other salads on it looked like they came out of a Gordon Food Service carton. HOWEVER- we ordered a mandarin chicken salad & a chef salad for dinner, along with a bowl of french onion soup each, and an order of "spears"- breadsticks baked with mozzarella, butter, garlic & parmesan dripping from them. By time we ate the soup & a breadstick each, we were full, and had our salads boxed to go back to our B & B fridge- they made a great lunch the next day. The soup was really tasty, my husband's favorite menu item of our entire trip. The gooey breadsticks were mine. The salads were fresh & crisp, even the next day. We wanted to support the independent, so we ordered from G's. We ordered a deep dish small pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It is so bad, I cannot eat it. First of all, it is round. Most deep dishes are square. This is round. The crust is 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick and tastes like stale bread. There is cheese piled on it, but it doesn't help. It's a weird pizza, tastes weird and its going into the trash can. I'm done with G's. read more

This was our first time staying in Oscoda and G's was recommended by a local for their pizza. We called in for a delivery order. This was on a Saturday night. Forty-five minutes later we called to check on our order and it then arrived shortly after. The delivery man was delightful! The pizza pie was good, the "beer-battered fries", were just normal fries and were okay. The order was a bit expensive. Gave them four stars for the very polite and charming delivery man. read more

I ordered a large cheese and pepperoni, this was absolutely the worse pizza I have ever had. The crust was like leather and it had no taste. It was also WAY over priced. I will never go back. We all went out to dinner, 20 of us, when we were up north for my mother's funeral. G's had short notice, but accomodated us without any difficulty. The pizza was delicious, too. Our server, Danielle, did a great job serving such a large group of people. My nephew, George, is a carb-conscious, muscle builder... and he has the guns to prove it. He loved the chicken ceasar salad and talked about how great it was all weekend. I'll have to try that salad next time I'm in Oscoda. They have a bar, but I'm not sure if it's just beer and wine or if they have other types of drinks. I noticed that they have the set-up for a buffet, which they probably serve at lunch time. I'm not sure of the hours for the buffet. Everyone in Oscoda seems so friendly and I really enjoy visiting the area. Prices were moderate, but the quality of the food was really good. We went to G's in Oscoda on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was packed because of a power outage north of town. We were seated and 20 minutes went by as we heard the waitresses actually arguing over who was going to have to wait on our party of two. When I finally asked for the owner, I was told that he was too busy to talk to me. Much later when the restaurant was nearly empty, I asked once more to see the owner. I've been to this restaurant several times and the food is great but, the service has been spotty at best. My family and I are on vacation this week and just stopped in about an hour ago. We were seated and waited almost 10 minutes before our server asked for our drink order. This took another 5 minutes to get them. After waiting more than 20 minutes after getting our drinks for a server to come back to take our order, she never came. I have two littles ones and cannot wait a half hour plus for our order to be taken. There were several orders taken from people that arrived after we did and this is what finally prompted us to walk out. I have never walked out of a restaurant before and I'm not one to complain about service or even when food is bad but this was absolutely ridiculous. I would easily give this place a 5 Star rating if the service was just average. read more

I stopped in to make sure they would deliver to my hotel at 1 am on a Friday night and they said YES NO PROBLEM only to call at midnight and be told sorry no delivery at this time. I had already ordered $50 in food and pulled up to the place less than a 1/4 mile away and there was at least 2 employees outside smoking. We stood there for several minutes before anyone acknowledged us. The same lady that guaranteed to deliver was working and to top it off she was sending out a delivery as we pulled up. For the first time in my life I didnt leave a tip. I just ate a g's in oscoda and had the worst service ever and get this I had the buffet!!! I was seated a few minutes before a couple came in, the waitress (who seated me) tells me she will be with me shortly as she walks by to take the couples drink order, brings them their drinks and starts taking their food order before she has even asked me what I'd like to drink. Finally after she goes and puts their food order in she comes back to me and i order my drink, i also tell her i want the buffet and order the type of pizza I'd like on it. 10 minutes later (i timed it) i get my drink. After a bit the pizzas come out. She duplicated the pizza the couple ordered. Never saw the one i ordered, never saw the waitress again either till i had been finished for for 10 mins. I ask her for the check and since my drink was never refilled i ask for one in a to go cup.. she leaves again and i wait and i wait and i wait. Finally i go to the register where she is up there talking with another waitress. I fully expected her to give me my drink but nope she just runs my card and hands me my reciept. No thanks for comming in, im sorry im a shitty waitress, nothing! I went to the g's in tawas monday and waited 45 mins for a cheeseburger. The food here was just plain. I thought the pizza was a litte underdone and underwhelmed. I got it delivered to my hotel so that might have been the problem as the pizza just didn't hold up as well as I would like it. We ordered from here a couple weeks ago, When we got home we realized we didn't have all of our order.. So we called as soon as we noticed. We were told we would be given a credit for the rest of our order an would be given an order of bread stick for the inconvenience.. So tonight we called to get our credit, When we arrived we were told we could not get the Bread Stick because they just can't give food away. The young man that gave us the credit was there working and stood there saying I didn't give them a credit for bread sticks. If they didn't want to honor the credit we were given all they had to do is say so, But instead the staff stood in the pass threw window laughing and being rude, telling us "Well have a great night come back soon". We were not looking for a hand out just want what our credit was. The staff didn't have to act so unprofessional or rude about it all.. We will NOT be ordering from here again. read more

I never publicly bash restaurants as I work in the food industry but this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. Absolutely horrible. Attempted to do a online order for the Oscoda location and it wouldn't go through so I called to submit an order for delivery. Took 3 calls for them to even pick up, then the woman kindly asked me to hold, told her no problem and sat there for 20 minutes before she picked back up to take the order (it was 2:30 pm btw, midweek, not even remotely busy). After finally taking my order she tells me about an hour wait and hangs up without a reply, alright, still getting my food, shitty services or not......Nope. 1 1/2 hrs later I call and someone else picks up and informs me their no longer doing deliveries due to their driver having issues and I needed to come in. Ok. Understandable. So I drive there, park, and as I'm walking in out walks the delivery guy with a large order of food and drives off to deliver it. So i went in and asked the woman behind the register about it and she replies with some bullshit excuse about how the other (very large) order was a rush and had to go out, mine wasn't a priority. Asked to speak to a manager and was informed after a 10 min wait that he wasn't in the building, so i walked out without food and without paying. I will never visit the Oscoda location again, and I'm pretty sure from what i saw while in there the health inspector is going to be visiting it real soon. read more
