We ended up with a nice house than we thought we could afford, in a an area we thought we had no chance of getting into, and for a price that was on the lower end of our prince range - we still can't believe it! Exceptionally well - Tim Olson exceeded all of our expectations…read more We were in a tough position and needed a seller's agent who was extremely knowledgeable, always responsive to our many phone calls, and someone who would help us make the tough decisions about what to do and not do to make our home fit for the highest possible price. Tim made what is usually a very stressful, sometimes expensive process (getting one's home ready to sell and then sold) relatively painless and EXTREMELY FINANCIALLY FRUITFUL. The lead of the story is this: Tim's labor and expertise enabled us to get (significantly) above our asking price, and did so in an only moderately warm market for our area - - indeed, he got our potential buyers into a bidding war. (We were shocked - but it was great!) But what was really appreciated, besides his professionalism and what seemed to us a kind of "insider's" knowledge and experience, was the fact that he handled nearly everything for us, particularly since the home we were trying to sell was vacant and we lived an hour away (already in our new home). Whether it was knowing exactly what trusted expert to call and hire (Tim should have received a commission as unofficial general contractor for all of the fairly priced and quality contracting labor he suggested) or the expert marketing and price assessment, Tim's work ethic and professional and positive attitude helped us make much (much) more money on our home's sale than we'd anticipated. A VERY VERY disappointing experience. Homesite Mortgage should not be used as an out of state…read morelender. I am a Real Estate Agent in Virginia representing the buyer. He was pre approved and we wrote an offer which was accepted by seller. The first red flag was the appraiser and what appeared to be his inexperience. Then, we continued to deal with our Mortgage Banker who told us more than once that we only needed to submit "one" additional document. Once ALL the additional documents were received, the representative pulled another credit report. FHA Loans in VA accept a credit report within 120 days, not Homesite; 60 days for them. My client's credit score for some reason slipped 7 points for no apparent reason. We were then told within hours of being out of contract, that the only way the transaction could happen is if the buyer had a co-borrower. Not only was my client disappointed and extremely upset, but the listing agent had taken the house off of the market and it has not been shown for two months. The sellers are extremely upset as well. I have been a licensed Real Estate Agent in Virginia for 12 years and I have NEVER had a deal completely crumble. I will NEVER do business again with Homesite Mortgage, whether I have a client already approved or an offer on a listing with the client using Homesite Mortgage. I will switch the client to a local lender.
