Don't hire this Guy! We hired Charles, owner of DeltaPlus…read moreflooring to redo our maple floors in July of 2024 and it was a disaster. He later agreed to give us a partial refund of $875. He sent one check for $475, and is now refusing to give us the balance. He totally destroyed all our moldings, dented our custom wooden staircase, and left huge gaps between the slats of wood. It took me 52 hours to repair the moldings. He sanded the floors so deeply that we now have hundreds of silver nail heads showing. His work was not dust-free as he claims on his website. I had to vacuum all the walls and blinds when he left. We lived downstairs while he was working, and it took him 5 weeks to complete the job. He was full of excuses as to why the job was taking so long. He now claims that he is going out of business-good decision!

Being complete novices, our primary concern was to find a craftsman that would not only educate us in the process but be candid, honest and receptive to our needs. After several interviews with local installers, we had almost given up when I ran across the Delta Plus Floors web site. We were extremely impressed with the site's content and professional display. I immediately e-mailed Charles Benghauser who responded the very next day. His presentation was very thorough but yet comprehensible. Charles was able to assure the wife and I that the project was not only feasible, but he even guaranteed that the end-product would meet our personal satisfaction. The finished project was cost reasonable and beyond our expectations. We have received numerous compliments from on the flooring's overall appearance and the quality of craftsmanship displayed - Thanks Charles for a pleasing experience! What a flaky contractor. I contacted James the owner on Facebook where he was advertising for…read morework. He set up an initial consultation appointment and came to my home one Friday afternoon (07/05/24). I told him I needed new steps and a railing on the side of my driveway going up to my house because the ones I had were falling apart. He knew exactly what he was coming out to my home for because I told him about the steps yet he stood there and told me he doesn't put in outdoor steps and that I need to call a landscaper. So all I was thinking is what the heck was he doing calling me and setting up an appointment? So I decided to walk him around the house and show him some other repairs I needed done thinking he could use a different job and I could get some projects done. He said he would fix the spigot that a hose attaches too, the one outdoors that leaks. He said he and his partner would have to go into the bedroom and partially rip the wall apart to replace the spigot that was leaking. I said, "fine, I understand". I also showed him a plant outside that I wanted pulled out and some concrete laid down instead and he said he could do that as well and went into great detail explaining the process. He took out his phone to calculate and gave me a rough idea of how much the jobs would cost me. He said he would send me a quote either in my email that I gave him or contact me via a message where we originally set up the appointment. I never heard from him again even after messaging him, "I don't see a quote yet. It's been 2 weeks.". I see on FB he is still advertising. I had also walked him around the house after discussing the spigot and concrete jobs. I thought it would be great if he could also replace the rotting eaves around the roof line as well as putting in soffits (the material that is on the underside of a roof). He said he could. I asked him if they could do any flooring and he said yes but there was no need to discuss that yet because I wanted to concentrate on the other projects first. Before he left, I remembered one other spot where I needed concrete and he said he would do the first concrete job and then if I liked it then I would have him come back for the other one which I thought was weird. I was thinking why doesn't he just do both at the same time after replacing my spigot? As the story goes he just drove off in his big white truck, never contacted me, and wasted both of our afternoons. James definitely has character flaws. As the old saying goes, "He is not a man of his word". I am supposed to rate 1 out of 5 stars but I would not give this contractor 1 star. I am very disappointed with his unreliability, would never trust him, and definitely would never recommend this contractor.
