This is one of our favorite spots! We drive approx 45 minutes to have dinner here every couple of months. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is nicely maintained and it's a cozy place to have dinner. We usually come in on a weeknight and we're seated right away. We love everything from the fajita, to tacos and burritos. The molcajete is also delicious is you want the full dish experience. I would never have thought that a place with a silly generic sounding name would be so good! We went at around 230 pm and it was very empty. Our server was nice, efficient and professional. I had the chile relleno and enchiladas plate. Came out absolutely fresh and steaming hot. Delicious rellenoi green sauce, great cheese pull....so good!!!! A nice shredded beef enchilada with a flavorfull red sauce too.Yummy authentic beans and fresh homemade corn tortillas . My husband had and absolutely loved the birrira plate. Great place in a strip mall! Complimentary (first round) of guacamole & salsa (more of a taco sauce with pico de gallo sprinkled on top, super flavorful!) was very good. Chili relleno & cheese enchilada combo - both very tasty with green & red sauces (respectively) that were a tad salty (as mentioned in another review) but I really liked (I hate when I have to add salt). Guacamole Bowl is a little confusing, though has tasty food. The seat that I had (bench) was broken and I nearly fell as I stood up, and the bench seat popped up (I'm pretty sure it wasn't screwed down). That aside the chips, salsa, beans, and guacamole given right away were tasty. I really appreciated the cups the water was served in. The walls were bright, vibrant, and busy, I liked it here for some reason more than other places. The lunch menu was on the back of the breakfast menu, and was simple, making ordering easy. My son was confused as he had picked an item from a different menu, that wasn't on this lunch menu and chose to pick something else. The service was good, the woman super kind, and attentive. It was quiet, and comfortable. Let's start with the chicken chimichanga! It was tasty! My son was impressed, loved the flavor, texture, and overall experience with the sides. It sparked some memories for him increasing the positive experience. His comparison to previous experiences eating chimichangas was in favor of Guacamole Bowl. The Mole Shredded Beef Enchiladas were really tasty. My only criticism is that the mole was more sweet, and thus less of a bold flavor. The sweetness really changed the dynamic of flavor that you usually get with Mexican food. read more

The salsa and guacamole bowl with chips offered at the start of the meal was beyond the normal chips and salsa offering. The salsa has fantastic flavor and the guacamole was a treat. We enjoyed shrimp fajitas and chicken fajitas - the portions were large and I brought half of my food home with me. Hands down the best Mexican food I've had in Oregon since moving here from Southern California seven years ago. Everything was incredible. We had the chilaquiles, bacon wrapped shrimp, and a bunch of other dishes and every single bite was full of flavor. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and care about what they're serving. My family and I really enjoy Guacamole Bowl! It's really the only decent Mexican food in Canby. We've gone there to eat a handful of times but do their takeout more often. I love their chips and their complimentary salsa, beans and of course, guac! The service is always friendly and quick, and the inside feels like your typical Mexican restaurant. After picking up my friend's daughter from school, we were looking for somewhere to get a bite to eat and she suggested Guacamole Bowl because she'd been there before and liked it... and you know, sometimes almost-teens can be picky eaters so we were going to go with her idea. Her recommendation was a good one! Along with the standard chips and salsa, this place also brings a bowl of guacamole to enjoy before your meal. Very tasty stuff! Well I accidentally came here again and forgot how horrible it is. The salsa was disgusting and they didn't give us guacamole with it as they have before. Our food took awhile and there were only 4 other people in the restaurant. When the food did arrive, it wasn't even lukewarm warm. It had to been sitting in the kitchen for quite awhile. The chili releno had a disgusting green sauce over it instead of the red sauce that it is supposed to be served with. The releno was overcooked and mushy. The rice was overcooked and the beans were weird tasting too. It was a horrible waste of money for food I wouldn't serve my dog. read more

Chips with guacamole, beans and a spicy sauce were brought to the table as part of the meal. I had Carne' Asada lunch plate which was a good size, I had too much to eat and there leftovers. My wife had a chimichanga which she very much enjoyed. The atmosphere is very much classic Mexican restaurant including murals on the wall and different colored chairs. Service was pleasant. We usually stop in at least once a month. I can't say enough about how clean it always is. The staff and chef's get an "A" for their service. The main dishes are great. We noticed that the Salsa and Guacamole were different. The Guacamole was way too creamy and too much lemon was used. The Salsa had a strange taste. It was one of the things we keep coming back for. We personally enjoy their refried beans as part of the appetizer. It's a great place to eat. I guess when something you're looking forward to isn't right you take notice. The first time we came here was amazing. When we sat down right away they brought plenty of chips and quackamole and delivered water in cool fancy glasses. They were also very nice and patient. Second time visiting Guacamole Bowl and they did not disappoint! The first time was just picking up some tacos and flautas to go. They were really good and reasonable. They came with beans, rice and chips. We came back for dinner and we all enjoyed our meals a lot. They bring you beans, salsa, guacamole and chips. Good size bowls of each! All very good. Just a tad more lime than I prefer on the guac but still amazing and fresh. The service was more like a 4*. We could have seen the server a time or 2 more than we did but she appeared to be working alone. So that is 100% understandable and we weren't in a hurry.
