We were a group of 8 dining at Guacamole Grill at the Cancún Airport, and while the food itself was decent, the overall experience, not so great. I ordered the steak chilaquiles, which were tasty, and a kiwi strawberry lemonade that sounded refreshing but was difficult to drink as it had chunks of fruit and they kept clogging the straw. It wasn't sweet or tangy, watery yes. I added sugar and it made it worse haha. We ordered 6 waters that came in bottles, and one came already opened. When we pointed it out, the staff refused to take it back and still charged us for it, which was frustrating. While we waited, one of my friends, whose feet were swollen, briefly propped them up on a metal chair (which had no cushion and she was not wearing her shoes), a few seconds later, a staff member quickly told her to put them down and not in the nicest way. The (other) worst part was the wait for the bill. Despite asking for it with time to spare before some of us had to catch a flight, it took them 32 minutes to bring it (I counted). The restaurant wasn't even busy, yet the service was slow and inattentive throughout. In short: good food, but poor service, inflexible staff, and a lack of urgency, not ideal when dining at an airport in my opinion. read more

Best flan in Cancun found at the airport but more than tripled the price at @175. Service is slow so don't try to rush a meal before boarding. Benches are cushioned but chais are metal and not comfortable. It's the only restaurant before security in terminal 4 so take it with a grain of salt if you want to sit and wait for your flight before security. read more

Waiting at the airport this was a decent option though there weren't lot of options to choose from. My buddy had the Veracruzano style eggs and I ordered the Divorced style eggs mostly because I got a kick out of the name, ha. Both were delicious and I had several cups of coffee but I was still so tired I ended up getting some Starbucks with a decent amount of caffeine to perk me up. Turns out there is one inside the airport as well if you want to get through security (we didn't realize that. We went based on ranking). The food is pretty expensive for Cancun and wasn't the best. I came to Guacamole after landing in CUN because I was craving Mexican food and my ride was coming later. I grew up in Mexico sand have traveled across the country. My huevos veracruzanos were very tasty. Four enchiladas filled with scrambled eggs, a bean and cream sauce, topped with chorizo and a good spicy chile. Ok they were not the best ever, but miles ahead of your average airport food, quite tasty, and very authentic. Plus, service was excellent and prompt. My bill was $15 with coffee. Not bad. This is one of the few sit-down waiter service restaurants inside the Cancun Airport. As expected with airport food, it is overpriced. The menu leans more towards Tex-Mex. We chose a cochinita sandwich, soup, and nachos for our meal. They also have burritos and tacos, which you can customize Chipotle-style with your choice of protein, vegetables, beans and rice. It is very seldom that I review restaurants in airports but this one is an exception. We stumbled upon this restaurant prior to boarding our flight for home. The menu was expansive and I had a hard time deciding what to have because everything looked so good. I settled on Veracruz eggs which were absolutely delicious. Actually one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. I also had a latte, which was surprisingly delicious for a restaurant of this caliber (airport). The only thing lacking was service. Our server was nice enough but not very attentive. We ran out of water and had to ask for the check as he apparently forgot about us. On this Departure, Early Afternoon we did not have much time to Spare along with having wayy too many Tequila Shots the Night before we just needed something to get us through our flight. Looking at the Menu there are Several Options as to what you can Build to Order, the Bases & Toppings, and an Array of other Food Items such as Fajitas, Tortas, Quesadillas, Chicken Soup, and Nachos. The Menu is Large & Brightly Displayed on TV Screens being in both English & Spanish. They also Serve Bottled/Canned Beers, Wine, Sodas, Bottled Water, and Juice/Teas. Being a Creature of Habit I went for the Chicken Burrito with their Cilantro & Lime Rice, Black Beans, Hot Sauce, Pico de Gallo, and Lettuce. My Husband chose the Mayan Style Pulled Pork Burrito with Cilantro & Lime Rice, Black Beans, Sour Cream, Hot Sauce, and Lettuce. After we Paid $30 for our 2 Burritos and Bottled Water with the Burritos being priced $10.30 each and $7 for a 34oz Evian Water we found our Burrito Eating Spot to Cure Us.... The Revealing of both of our Burritos gave us a Discouraging Feeling. The First Bite alone was enough to Never Return Again. The Rice was Old and Hard, the Proteins were Cold and Flavorless, the Tortilla was barely Grill Pressed making for a Ill Prepared Complete Burrito and to top the Burrito Making Off; the Bases/Toppings were no where near evenly disbursed throughout each Burrito. read more

Located inside the Cancun international airport international departures terminal in the food court is Guacamole Grill. It's similar in layout to a Chipotle but less options. They do have vegan and vegetarian options which is always a positive for me in an airport. I ordered a veggie burrito and stuffed it with rice, beans, veggies, guac, hot salsa, and the corn mix along with cilantro. Once I finished adding the ingredients I was quite impressed with the size of my burrito baby. It wasn't long until I tore right into my burrito baby and quickly ate it all. I quite enjoyed that even though I did not eat it right away it did not get soggy. I expected it to be a runny mess but that wasn't the case at all. You've got the option of bowls, burritos, salads and tacos. I went for the bowl, my son the burrito and my wife the tacos. Basic airport food: overpriced, low quality and small portion. Build your own combo. For 180 pesos or 10$USD you can build your own burrito, burrito bowl, tacos (3) or salad. Each options comes with a choice of rice and beans plus two toppings. Additional toppings are 40pesos or 2$USD. They also have some other options like quesadillas or nachos. I got the veggie burrito bowl and definitely wasn't impressed. Thought it would be a better choice than the burgers or pizza around. One small scoop of rice and beans, one small scoop of veggies (mostly onions) and small scoops of corn and cheese. The whole thing wasn't very warm and kind of bland. Even for the veggie option which costs the same as the meat options they portion is still very small. I think I have more authentic and better options back home at Quasada or Chipotle. read more

The process for taking orders and making tacos/burritos should not be rocket science, yet seems to be here. Best food in Cancun Airport T3. Right after clearing security check, walk into duty free and take a left, just 100 feet is this spot (pretty much like Chipotle in USA). Choose what to make: burritos, tacos, burrito bowls, etc. Then choose the ingredients: rice, beans, veggies, chicken, etc. Add two toppings from their list (sour cream, cheese, tomato salsa, guacomole, etc). That's it. Tasted yummy. Choose from a variety of sodas, beers, etc for the drinks. One thing that they can improve is on portion sizes for the burrito bowls, as for the price, it doesn't satisfy the hunger. We had to then order the burrito to fill our palete. read more

A scoop of plain rice, not Mexican rice(none to be found) was equal to a level spoon, not the rounded heaping spoonful you'd expect. Who scrimps on rice or beans, the cheapest form of food in the world. Same goes for anything else. If you want anything but your two small choices of the fixings side, they will charge you extra. Extra for vegetables, pico de gallo, corn, anything. and everything else. The finished $10 bowl barely covered the bottom of the container it came in. Hopeless in my view. In the world of chilaquiles, this restaurant uses too much cilantro and cheese, the chicken is unseasoned, and the tomatillo sauce lacks any type of spiciness. The cheese was cold and sprinkled over top. I recommend mixing the cheese with the tomatillo sauce to melt it. But there's barley any service, and when I checked out , the guy charged me 20% tip and acted like I had to accept it ... and before I paid 20% tip ,he even asked me to pay almost 28% tip!
