Came here on a Saturday. The restaurant was somewhat busy. Be aware, that if they're super busy, they will just let the phone ring. No one will answer. I don't like that at all. Acknowledge when customers enter even though it will be a few minutes. Tables are getting cleaned up about 5-10 minutes after the customers have left. Yall need to hustle. I've seen at least to two parties leave because they were standing there for over 5 minutes plus. I wish I could help! I was about ready to start cleaning up tables. I never really liked this place but always try to find things I like about it cuz in Havre, Mt, there really ain't NO options but I'm constantly disappointed. Food lacks flavor or spice. Service was super slow we ordered 3 asada tacos and the super nachos. It took well over an hour to get everything served by the time it was served we were contemplating walking out. Margaritas were flavorful but couldn't tell if they even had alcohol in them. Rarely I leave one-star reviews, but the service we received from a server named Stacy was genuinely appalling. It felt like we were an annoyance rather than paying customers. First, our drinks sat empty for a solid 15 minutes this was after we had flagged her down once. When she finally did come back, she got one of the drink orders wrong and seemed annoyed when we politely asked her to fix it. A different server brought our plates and she came to see if we needed anything else in a rude tone and that was the last we saw of Stacy until we had finished our meal. No check-in, no offer of a second round of drinks, nothing. She then dropped the check on the table without a single word and walked off. We had to wait again to give her the payment. The food was actually pretty decent, but the experience was completely ruined by the indifferent and frankly rude service from Stacy. Management needs to seriously retrain her on basic customer service etiquette. Next time, I'll take my business elsewhere. Will not go back again while she is working. read more

This places food is good. Im from the south of the US down by Mexico and this is a lot like the Mexican food I am used to. The food is great and service each time I've been has been great as well. My only real complaint is the prices. This place is definitely much more pricer than I am used to paying for this. That said I am originally from the south and lived near Mexico most my life so I suppose it makes sense being more expensive seeing as how the food here is much, much farther away from Mexico. read more

I'm still really in love with the food at Guadalajara and to be honest there waitresses have been lacking a lil bit. The last time I was there the person serving my mom forgot to put in there drinks and appetizers. When my mom was ready to go I had to go get the waitress, because she didn't check on us. Don't get me wrong when there's a lot of people there it's hard to keep up and handle everyone. I should know I've worked there, although I don't think it's to difficult if you were trained properly. I'm from Southern California and my wife is Mexican. For a Mexican restaurant 40 miles south of the Canadian Boarder this place was good. I went in on a weekday at about 7 pm. Waited to be seated, it was not a long wait. Clean atmosphere and nice decor and friendly service. I had the chili relleno with refried beans and Mexican rice. The dish was excellent, prepared as most Mexican restaurants prepare and serve them, which being this far north, surprised me. The chips and salsa were good as well, and spicy. Arguably the best restaurant food in Havre, but the prices are a little high. Of course, you could say the same about every restaurant in Havre. I guess that's the price of being located at the end of the road in extreme north central Montana. We usually order the arroz con pollo and carne assada burrito. The carne assada burrito is spot on. Steak is crisp and very flavorful. The arroz con pollo is also quite delicious, but could use a few more olives and a few less carrots, but that's a personal preference. Also, the arroz con pollo comes with only 3 tortillas...which is hardly enough for the entire dish. It should come with 5 to 6. We end up paying $4.00 extra for 3 extra tortillas and/or using our free tortilla chips to mop up the rest of the dish. The restaurant is clean, but the decor is dated and uninspiring. Could definitely use a face lift. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Overall a good dining choice at the end of the road in Havre, Montana. read more

I've eaten here quite a bit since they've been opened. I've had good days and I've had bad days. Not the best Mexican food I've had (no one's tops mom's) but it is all that Havre has other than Texican. I don't bother with the bar next door because if want to pay 40 dollars for a few drinks I will just buy the ingredients, make the cocktails at home, and still have stuff left over for another night. Also sometimes the staff over there is not as friendly as the staff in the restaurant. So just stick with the iced tea and Pepsi products. The horchatas are delicious! 3 dollars no free refills unless you know a guy. I won't say which guy. The chips and salsa are always fresh always tasty but that's a given. My top dishes are in this order: Pork Fajitas (trust me on this one) Super Mucho burrito, The chile colorado, and number 1 is the chile relleno. Seriously, if I'm not ordering two of those things I'm getting it as a side to take home for breakfast. The last one I had was mild but I've gotten them medium as well as spicy like I prefer it. My husband orders almost any dish that involves the carne asada. His favorite is the carne asada enchiladas. They always smell good but his reaction is hit and miss. Sometimes it's perfect and sometimes it's flavorless. The staff that is there currently is friendly and knowledgeable. Honestly my review would have been a 3 if those guys weren't as awesome as they are. We've walked in a half hour before closing and they still treated us like a priority. Generally, I try not to review a place after only one visit; I've bee proved wrong too often by second and third visits. However, I think this one is warranted. Overall, coming from Texas, it's easy to say I've experienced better. generally, the food was on par with the standard strip-mall Mexican joint that I've had in most cities: nothing that will make anyone say "Now THAT is Mexican food!" However, in a pinch, you can stand mediocrity. In general, I found the food very under spiced and under flavored. I could recognize the tomatillo sauce on my Chili Verde as actually from tomatillos, but there didn't seem to be much else in the sauce than simply the veg, cooked and pureed. The meat was tender (which is not always given), but it was very bland, too. The beans and rice could well have been packaged, but weren't any worse than generally at those strip-mall joints. My wife had pork fajitas (which I don't think I've ever seen on menu anywhere else); she liked them, and they were tender and interesting, but a little too smokey and not spicey at all. While the food wasn't special, at most reaching the middle of the road, it was the details that disappointed me most. The decor was sporadic and wholly uninspired: standard cafe tables/booths with a couple of trinkets pinned to the walls here and there. I almost hate to make this next complaint, but it was SO out of character for almost every other Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant I've ever visited: only the first "basket" of chips were free. It was really one of those beige soup-sized bowls of melamine which you really expect in a college cafeteria, neither approaching the size nor friendliness of a "basket." It held a handful of chips at most, and you had to pay if you wanted it refilled. I know times are tough, and giving free food to diners is not a money-making practice. However, I paid quite a bit more at this place, with less character and ambiance, than I would in those strip-mall joints back home. Like I said, It'll do in a pinch, but it's not really all that Mexican and there are some really disappointing details. The food is OK,not great but not too shabby. But the service sucks, we came in the restaurant and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant then there was a couple who came in after us. Who had their order taken after us. Well they got their food before us, while we were still sitting there waiting for our food the couple ended up getting their to-go boxes before our food ever arrived. It's pretty sad we were treated this way, but I believe it had to do with our skin color especially with our simple orders. The waitress did not receive a tip from us. There aren't many good choices for sit down restaurants in Havre, so we really gave this place a chance. After a few visits, we gave up. The only reason I give 2 stars is because the food isn't awful. Not the worst Mexican I've had, but far from the best. My main complaint is the service. Once my wife ordered takeout and was treated rudely over the phone. When she went to pick up her food, they'd given her the wrong dish. And when we've sat down for a meal, it seems like they're always either under staffed or they just don't care enough about the customers to serve people in a timely manner. Not impressed. read more

7/7/15 no hostess stood there for close to 10 minutes until we finally sat ourselves. The first 2 waitresses completely ignored us. Until we had the best waitress, Nancy, wait on us. She did an EXCELLENT job. Which by the way we think she was actually working the other part of the restaurant but the two lazy girls would not help us! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! As we waited for our food the first 2 waitresses continually walked by 3 sets of customers the same way they did us. We watched a party of 6, 3 and 2 wait....wait...wait.... and finally all three parties turned and left. When we were leaving a single gal was there waiting to be sat. No idea if she left too. HOWEVER, when one of the waitresses "friend or family" showed up, oh she dropped every thing to go get them a table!! Not once did they tell the other parties "someone will be right with you" they just ignored them. The food -- I give about 1-1/2 stars. Not much authentic taste to the carne asada burrito. The beans and rice were so-so. That was my 3rd and FINAL experience to this place. Both times before the lack of hospitality seriously lacked. Nothing had changed. $15 bucks for an "ok" burrito is not worth it to me. Thankfully Nancy, was pleasant, hustled, and had a smile on her face even though I know she was tired running circles around those other 2 waitresses. And by the way, the one shorter waitress had a pony tail and she was making it swing back and forth and a few times we saw it graze the other waitresses tray of food. My tip for her is to throw her hair in a bun, no one wants hair in their food. Owners: Hire a real Hostess! Why have a hostess area if you don't have one to seat customers in a professional manner and in adequate time frame. We will not be coming back. For a mexican place for Havre...this is not too bad. The employees are extremely friendly and always there for anything you may need. The food is reasonably priced...especially the combo plates. If you are to compare this to a mexican restrurant out of state or in a big city...that's not fair. The food is good, the price is reasonable and the place is clean. Let's start with the service - this is not the place you want to go to if you have anywhere to be in the next three hours. They are slow, slow, slow....they will forget the dressing for your salad and not check back in on you for 30 minutes and by then the rest of your group has already finished eating. They will forget to bring your drinks until after the meal is completely over. It is near impossible to get a refill. The food is not served in any type of pleasant presentation. I ordered shrimp fajitas my first time there and they arrived with a skillet full of onions, four small shrimp, and a tons of snapping grease which actually shot up enough to hit my cheek and burn it. The shrimp was rubbery and had no flavor besides the fact there was hardly none of it. I have been back several times with family and coworkers and I guess I kid myself every time thinking I will order something different and it will be better but the one thing I have noticed is that the food is not bad it is just small portions, poorly presented, and very bland. I have lived the last 10 years in Phoenix where I ate tons of Mexican food and each Mexican restaurant was knows for it's unique flavor and spice. So here is the list to bring this score to a "5" 1) Spice it up!!! This is Mexican food it should be spicy and flavorful. 2) Increase your menu options with Baja Sauce and stuffed Chile Relleno with seafood 3) Decorate a bit - the place is too brightly lit and it has a cafeteria feel instead of a Mexican restaurant 4) Presentation - staff should wear brightly colored skirts and vests with flowers in the hair and in the lapel pockets and food should be served on brightly colored plates with decorative garnish of fresh cilantro and guacamole and pico de gallo 5) Teach the staff to speak some spanish - at least the food items on the menu as it adds to a more authentic feel and I hate when I order "fajitas de camarones" or "burrito de pollo" and they have no idea that I want shrimp or chicken 6) Service, Service, Service, Service, Service!!!!!! It should never take nearly 3 hours for a burrito. read more
