Food was what you would expect from any fast food joint. However the customer service is horrible. Went in to have a drink corrected and was questioned about the order and heard comments in the back ground that I did not in fact order what I was trying to get corrected. I was not rude, explained how a mistake had occurred and was made to feel like I was in the wrong because of it. Customer service is a #1 priority to me. If you want repeat customers, I suggest taking some customer service workshops to improve this aspect. read more

It was a cute place and the food was excellent! I liked that they had a separate line for just milkshakes and drinks. It helped the line to move faster. Road trip stop for lunch. It is located through town about a mile from the highway. Seemed like a nice change from chain fast food. It is drive through only. They have a food lane to order or a fast lane if you just want drinks. Menu is a sign posted above the drive in. They call you forward when your order is ready. We ordered the ugly burgers. They were delicious but I don't recommend that you eat them on the road. Very full burger and messy to eat in a car. Stop somewhere to enjoy them or order to take home. The curly fries were hot and fresh. Worth the exit for these burgers! read more

The ugly burger really is good, on the mushy side but the mix of flavor is really done well. There are a lot of condiments on it and it does get a bit much after you keep eating it. I would skip the shrimp basket and shrimp burger though. Also the fries are nothing special. They really need to make the directions more clear in the drive through and tell drivers to stay in their place until they are called. I made the mistake of pulling up before my order was done (car in front was moving, and there was a car in back trying to get to a speaker) and there was some old lady glaring and shaking her head. I assume she's the rude miserable witch stated in Bob S's review. But the younger lady who took my payment and asked me to pull over was nice so it was okay. Would I go back? Probably not. But there really aren't any food options in Havre. I would stick with just grocery shopping at Walmart. read more

The burger was good, the french fries were way over done, the ham and cheese sandwich had too much butter on it and it smelled funny, so that was thrown in the garbage.The mushrooms were good as well ,but there was no ranch or fry sauce in the bag like normal. This is a great place to go, even if you're just passing through Havre. It's an old style drive through where the left lane is for food and drinks, and you will have to wait until they call you forward, and the right lane has one speaker where you can order drinks only. Generally, if you're getting just drinks, you'll be called forward immediately. You can also go in the door at the back and order at the counter, but whether this is faster than the food lane is unclear. My brother just calls in his order ahead of time and then goes in the back and picks it up to save time. Their specialties are the ugly burger (a burger with lots and lots of toppings) and their flavored fountain drinks. You can mix any of 20+ flavors with any soda or shake. I like the cinnamon coke! You can mix any of them, even the ones that will probably gross you out, like oreo mountain dew... But that's your choice! If you bring your dog, they'll give you a dog treat. This is a nice, extra touch. Also, try their fry sauce (yes, it's probably just mayo and ketchup, but they get the proportion just right), it's the best that I've had anywhere. Rod's is NOT as fast as McDonalds, but that's ok, the food is better (even the fries are amazing), and the experience is much cooler. read more

The locals rave about this place, so I tried it out one evening. There was just one other customer before me, so I was surprised it took them so long to get my order ready, which was just a burger, nothing else. Then I was surprised by the small size of it and the total un-muchness. I guess I was expecting something amazing and awesome, both because of it's reputation and because of the price they charged. The burger didn't taste terrible, but was it worth the money? Nope. All I could think was, "I could have gotten a 5 Guys Burger for that." Maybe the special spice the locals are tasting is nostalgia, because I'm mystified. The Ugly Burger didn't seem any different from any backyard burger you could get anywhere. read more

Seems they only hire Havre's finest people. We've been coming here for years and have always gone out of our way to make a stop at Rods. Like normal we went through the drive through and ordered our food & drinks with one being a large mint shake. The lady working couldn't seem to hear/ understand so we repeated mint a couple of times hoping she should understand. Our family gets up to the window and the worker right away goes " we don't get paid enough to deal with rude people and if my boss was here we wouldn't have been allowed to be disrespected like that". We were dumbfounded and had no response other than "okay". Even after all that we received a heath shake and food order was wrong. Great service , will not ever be going back. read more

In town for work this week and everyone raved about this joint, especially the "ugly burger". The ugly burger is basically their version of the big mac. I do have to admit that it is way better than the big mac. The older lady at the window is quite possibly the most rude person that I have ever dealt with at a restaurant. The drive up is odd. You have a series of ordering stations leading to the window and if you don't follow their rules than you will hear about it! I was actually in town a few weeks prior and went to try it out and never did end up eating. I waited for about 5 minutes at the first out order station and after nobody answered, I decided to pull up to the window to inquire. The lady told me that this place was not McDonalds and they do things differently. After my scolding, she suggested that I pull forward, park and put my order in at a window on the other side of the building. As I pulled forward I could hear the miserable witch call me a prick while she closed the window. I am actually planning on going back tomorrow with a friend to show him first hand. LOL I guess the angry lady must be the owner as I could not imagine that the owner would stand for her aggressive attitude towards customers. read more

I just don't get it. I've had two ugly burgers now and I don't understand the hype. I guess I'd be more impressed if I hadn't seen them sifting through a box of frozen gray patties. Bear Paw Meats is just down the street, why can't they use fresh/local ground beef? There's always a line in the drive-through though and a couple people inside. Both times I've had to wait quite a few minutes for my burger despite a large staff in the back. Both Pepsi and Coke products is probably the only thing that sets them apart. I had a small shake once and it was alright. Fries were meh, Sysco variety. If you want some variety in your fried potatoes they do offer "gems", "rounds", and fries. I had to ask but gems are tater tots and rounds are basically Potato Oles. The fry sauce might intrigue some people but it's pretty run of the mill if you've had it before. The last "draw" might be the ability to add flavors to your pop; something a few other places in town offer. I heard a lot of orders for soda with cinnamon but I don't need more sugar in my drink so I haven't tried any. Staff is friendly and prices are okay but really nothing special. read more

Rod's is a classic in Havre! We live out of town but every time we visit we make sure we go to Rod's! Their ugly burger is great, but their sodas are what make them special. My favorite flavor is marshmallow, but they have recently started using marshmallow syrup instead of fluff, which diminishes the taste. read more

We went inside and asked for new cheese fries, because the cheese tasted old and the fries were soggy...and what they gave me wasn't any better (same problem). I love the food at Rods. But today I had the worst experience EVER!!!!!! First when I order they kept asking me over and over what I wanted so I kept telling them. Then I ordered my pop. Same thing happen. Yes I can understand it may be hard to hear from the car motors. Then I get up to the window to pay and I was on an important call. A male come to the window so I hand him my money. Then look away and look back and there is an older male standing at the window. I was just getting ready to hang up and I grabbed my bag and this older male says "she's yakking on the phone, we got a business to run" I said what did you just say to me? He said in a loud voice and rude. ITS AGAINST THE LAW TO BE TALKING ON THE PHONE!! I hung up my phone, Then he told me FUCK YOU GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE BEFORE I CALL THE COPS!!!! Shocked at the way I was treated I told him fuck you back!! and left!!!! I did not deserve to be treated this way from him or this establishment!!!
