Rude inattentive staff basically ignored us after food was ordered, plates landed in front of us and the waiter says "hot plate".. and walks away. We asked for a to go box and he offered us a napkin because they don't have any.. but I can see a stack of them on the counter so I get up to go get one and he barks " where you going"? I am probably a little biased being from Texas, but the experience sucked. The Salas was way too watery and had only a few large chucks of tomatoes, onion and cilantro. It needs to go through a blender with some jalapeños added for flavor and kick. My waiter (Miguel) was the worst. He brought me water after seated and never saw him again. We were visiting from California where there is so much great Mexican food. This place has nice interior, staff is friendly and accommodating. The foot was good but we do prefer our taco shells fried but having them like they serve is healthier and still very tasty. Their salsa could use some improvements but it was t bad. Located in a strip mall, this is a gem! The staff are super professional and friendly. The service was perfect. And so was the food!! This place was recommend by a local and it was a great stop. We asked for pico instead of salsa and that was awesome. I agree the guac isn't great. Hubby loooooves the burrito special. It was huge. Best Mexican restaurant in town! If not THE best restaurant. Everything they serve is full of rich flavor, yet is very reasonably priced. It is a very authentic place, probably because they are owned by a mexican family. The waiters are usually very friendly and helpful too in answering questions about the menu. I'd rather go here than any steakhouse in town. My favorite is the fiesta platter because you get a lot of food with the chimichangas, fajitas, and nachos for around ten dollars. The Bottom line: Guadalajara's is an authentic sit down Mexican restaurant that serves large portions for their price. read more
