I've been coming to Guads for years now. It's consistent and delicious. I love the chips and salsa The bean dip comes with melted cheese. I always get the Danville special mixed. I had high hopes. But unimpressed. I had the fajita potatoe and mango margarita.. the margarita overly salted and tasted of dishwater. I only could stand a bite of the food. The table was uncleaned and sticky.. the server was okay enough, felt like our party was being hurried.. anyway. Probably won't return. I hope this helps. read more

They have a quesadilla roja that is cheap and delicious. I don't know how they make money on it. Don't order the watery chili cheese fries.

This is not a Mexican food place, so much as it is a smashed beans and rice restaurant. The atmosphere was nice. The noise level was reasonable. The salsa was good. The chips were not freshly made. The beans are probably canned. There was rice. It randomly had bits of peas and carrots in it. The chile verde had a decent flavor to the sauce, but the pork was not properly tender from roasting or stewing for an extended period of time. The tortillas were not house made. The wait staff were very courteous and attentive. While the Quality Inn has a listing showing that the restaurant gives 10% off to guests, the cashier denied that and did not honor the offer. read more

In Danville for business and saw it on the app, so it fit; close and inexpensive! The beer is not cheap but a medium is LARGE and they have Dos Equis Amber (as all good Mexican restaurants do). The salsa has an appropriate bite to it as a major plus. Service is adequate and very nice. I usually go carnitas but chose the combo with burrito and chile relleno. Of course with the requisite beans and rice. I really wanted the relleno and it delivered. Nicely coated with appropriate amount of cheese and great heat (not too much but at least had some). The burrito is why this rating is a 4 and not a five. Rolled up flour tortilla and hamburger. No flavor but filling. The rice looked like it might have been stolen from the Chinese place with a few veggies spread throughout but actually good flavor. I would come back just for the relleno! read more

Pretty good family style mexican restaurant. From the moment walk in to ordering and finish - have a prompt and good service. Menu - typical Mexican family style restaurant meaning lots of items. I asked the my server to surprise me. Off course I told him that I like everything so he should not worry to make me sick. He fixed me Fajita jalisco - basically fajita with all type of meats and veggies served with all condiments. Taste good. I even asked for corn tortilla and he brought me with smile. I want to start by saying that I am sad after most of the reviews mentioned service as a strong suit here...I had mediocre service from a waitress who acted like I had just kicked a puppy in front of her. She was monotone, inattentive and all around just unpleasant. Now to the food...I ordered just the basics of a tex mex place that is located in the middle of nowhere...enchiladas and tacos, both beef. First, the food was served with speed. However, the ground beef was lacking in flavor, but made up for it in grease. The rice and beans were system standard and I expected nothing less than that. A positive note of the night was the margaritas. They were two for one and mighty tasty! Overall, I chose this place due to its location to my hotel and the lack of choices in the immediate area that weren't chain or fast food places. I would have been better off stopping by Taco Bell for a taco and then swinging in here for a margarita. read more

Service is very good. That is the good news. The refried beans have little or no flavor. The chicken enchilada was bland, the tamale the same. The red sauce was salty. Well the time has come, every long road has a turn eventually. It's no different here. This was once the go to Mexican restaurant in Danville. No more! I never hesitated to recommend Guadalajara to anyone. Stranger, friend, family, no matter. On this visit, I found the restaurant unbearably hot. Despite the temperature outside I think it's safe to say either the air is failing or the management is turning it up or they simply don't know how to set it. Unacceptable!! Upon entering it was obvious there was a state of confusion with wait staff, yet they were not even near full or even close. The stench of Clorox and water filled my lungs as the bus cart sat unattended waiting for the return of the bus person. We requested to be moved to another table (booth). The wait for staff to take our order was simply not acceptable. In short, if Guadalajara had never been a Great restaurant I wouldn't be writing this. They set a standard for small town non franchised Mexican fare that was outstanding. Even my in laws from Los Angeles preferred to eat there during their visits to Danville. Los Angeleno's do know Mexican fare. Really, I gave them two stars when one was more appropriate and that was out of pity/respect. Original wait staff and management are no longer there and so Guady's Jane Trail is now just a memory. This frank appraisal is hoped to illicit a change in direction. Some of those reading this may be saying "Where have you been?" "It's been bad for awhile." I guess I wanted to see if would turn the corner. Here's to what once was. Being from Chicago, I try and have very unbiased reviews when traveling and eating Mexican food. I base my judgments off of a couple of things, one, how is food served. Are they served on piping hot plates? It's a sign that it won't be your best Mexican food. Two, do they have a homemade hot and mild salsa sitting on every table or do they have tapitio sitting there? Also, by the menu, do they have every Mexican dish under the sun (jack of all trades, master of none type ideology)? And finally, do they have a dish in a variation of Chile verde or Chile Colorado? If they have it, I will 9/10 order it. I ordered it here! It was excellent! Quality pieces of pork, great flavor to the verde sauce, and the beans were great. Rice, eh, ok! I was surprised, cause all of my experiences and the list I made above, checked off here. Huge menu, no hot and mild sauces sitting at each table, and plates come out scorching hot. But the Chile verde, was great. Would recommend coming here as I bet they have quite a few other dishes that are great as well! read more

Oh sweet goodness; authentic Mexican food in Kentucky?! It's true and we have found it right here in Danville! This restaurant is a little gem hidden in a small shopping center across the street from Jcpennys. The staff here is very friendly and efficient. The chips and salsa are just like back home in California! The salsa is great and has a nice kick to it. (This is HUGE for me because it has felt near impossible to find ANY spicy food out here!) Our food came out quickly. I ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla, it was the biggest quesadilla I've ever had. It was STUFFED with chicken, onion, mushroom, peppers, and cheese. Excellent flavor, huge portions, all around great food! This is definitely going to be our "go to" place. If you want some authentic Mexican food, do not overlook this location! read more

This was my first time stopping here for lunch or dinner. Server was prompt with chips and salsa and taking my drink order. Took my food order and it was delivered quickly as well. Then the disappearing act started. While I sat there and ate, which took about 30 minutes, never had someone stop by my table to check on me. Very poor service. read more

Year 2017, really great. Year 2018, really bad. Maybe it was the Waiter. Both of us got the wrong order. Our orders had to be fixed, came back messy, because wraps were opened, meat changed, and rewrapped. Missing ordered items were brought to our table. We received a cheese dip, but, so did others around us, we thought was complimentary, but, were charged for it. We were charged for menu items we did not order or receive. Others around us, seemed to have the same issue, receiving wrong food items, being charged for food they didn't order or receive. It took several tries to get the right food. It took about ten minutes, and multiple tries to get the bill rung up correctly. We were being charged nearly twice as much for some food items. What a mess. read more

This was the most disappointing meal I have ever had! It was my husband's birthday and I decided to surprise him with a takeout Mexican meal for dinner. I pre-ordered at 12:30 p.m. Stated that I would be there at 4:00 p.m. That would have given me enough time to pick up the meal in time for me to pick him up from work at 4:30 p.m. However, I ran behind time therefore I was late. Thinking that my meal would be ready and all I would have to do is pay and go....NO! It was not even prepared!!! A ticket was not even written up. The excuse was..."It would have been cold anyway". Well, I knew because of the time it took to pick up my husband and complete our errands before dinner that it would be. I had to leave, then return to pick up the meal. Still, I had to wait. Finally, I was given the meal (mind you, I was charged for the meal full price, which was an inconvenience because of the failure of them not preparing my order) as a courtesy they could have offered for me to either pay 1/2 or not charge for the meal at all. Anyway, got home. Finally sat down to eat and discovered that my burrito had burnt shredded beef inside of it and it was so salty, I was not able to eat even a quarter of it. I ended up throwing it away. Guacamole was smothered on my husbands burrito which was not ordered nor was it listed on the menu as being part of the dish. My husband hates guacamole. I choose this establishment because we had eaten inside in the past and rather enjoyed not only the meal but the service. However, both the meal and the service that I received was disaster. An $18.00 + disaster. Never again will I eat inside or take out again from them. Nor will I recommend them to any of my family or friends. Very disappointed. read more

And don't get me started on how the awful smell of the food stays on your clothing until you wash them again. You can always tell when someone has been to Guadalajara because they smell like it. And that is not good. The ONLY good thing about this restaurant is the service. They are prompt and courteous. Other than that, this place has nothing going for it.
