We came in on a Friday during the lunch hour. We were seated immediately and served our drinks. Chips and salsa were brought out right away. The menu was basically what you would expect in a Mexican restaurant although they had a few entrées that were new to me. My wife and I both noticed the Pollo Ranchero which contained mushrooms which we both very much enjoy. We both enjoyed it, but agreed that it was a bit overkill with the grilled onions. We would have preferred shredded chicken instead of a thin piece of chicken breast. Even so, it was very tasteful. We will not hesitate to return when we're back in the area. read more

Visiting Decatur on a recon mission with our son who is moving here. As evident by my reviews, I like local. Located in a small strip mall it had the right look. Dated looking sign, cars in the lot and when we got inside - busy! It looked small from the outside but this place is huge. It looks like they expanded over time. Fast service for drinks with $5.99 Jumbo Margaritas and a nice selection of Mexican beers. A large menu with standard Mexican fare and some variations. My wife ordered Carnitas, my son ordered Burritos that were filled with rib tips and I got Choripollo. We also ordered Queso Fundido. The Queso was a bit salty but had a generous portion of Chorizo. The Choripollo portion was good sized with lots of Chorizo on. Thin cut piece of grilled chicken. The Carnitas were very tender and delicious as were the rib tips in the burritos. The Refried Beans were creamy and tasty and the rice was prepared right. Tortillas looked like they might be made in house. All in all really solid food, fair portion and a reasonable price. read more

Upon our arrival at this establishment, we were not greeted by any of the staff.this did not leave a good impression with us as we entered the restaurant. After about five minutes one of the waiters finally came to the front and seated us. The same waiter took our order with ease no problems. Our food arrived quickly and was excellent.I had the chicken with pineapple and ham. It came with cheese dip however I chose to not get the cheese dip which was a good choice. The chicken and the pineapple were excellent, well cooked, and I enjoyed it greatly. The environment was quiet there were not a lot of people in there. Overall despite the initial entrance to the establishment, the rest of our experience was very good. If you were in the area looking for Mexican food, I would recommend this restaurant. read more

This restaurant should have a -10 star. I just got my food order and experience the worst mexicanfood ever I have in my life, and beleive me coming from a Latina is a lot. My plate was a Milanesa and I got fried fat only a small disgusting meat really hard from the day before. The salad was only read lettuce and 1/2 spoon of pico de GAllo no guacamole at all. Rice was also hard from the day before. We just throw away all to the garbage cause I don't eat other people leftovers. I complained and they didn't even care and after my call Enrique the manager blocked my number so I won't call again. Of course I will never call or go again I will never recommend this place anymore. It is sad because use to be good. But clearly they are just desperate to make money, and quality is not for them. This place used to be a favorite place but has seriously went downhill. If you try to place an order on the phone, you're lucky to get someone to answer the phone. Most of the time when you walk into the restaurant, there never is anyone watching the front door area for customers to walk in. The last occasion I went, there was myself and two other families waiting to be seated and we all waited 15 mins before an employee ever showed up and recognized the line that built up in the front. When I finally got seated, I never got waited on for any food or drink. I finally walked out for the last time. On the last occasions I ate there, the food was getting to where it was stone cold most of the time anyways. So I would not recommend anyone to bother going to this restaurant. read more

Food: I liked my entree. It was hot, came up fast, matched the description, and tasted good. Some of the chips had absorbed other flavors and they were very greasy. I found it odd they serve coffee but don't have cream. I got a shotglass of milk instead. Service: Everything was prompt and the server was attentive. They served me coffee in a visibly dirty cup but did make it right. It was odd that we had to sit way in the back. Came here because the place we planned to go to was closed. So glad they were! Food was great, our waiter Stefan was excellent. My daughter and I got the chicken fajitas for two and couldn't finish them. Really good guacamole. My son had the Guadalajara Special and loved it. We will definitely be coming back. read more

I have been here several times, but have not gotten around to writing a review. Each time that I have gone, I have ordered the same thing and it has always been prepared exactly the same way and delicious. I order the Arroz Con Mariscos. It is grilled shrimp and scallops over a bed of rice with cheese sauce on top. It is served with lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, and sour cream if you request it. Which I do enjoy having the sour cream with it and would highly recommend adding it. I also ordered a side order of Spanish rice. Their Spanish rice is very good also. The portion size is pretty large and this meal is very filling. This last time I went I ordered a strawberry daiquiri. It was prepared very well and exactly how I asked. The service was great. They check on you often to make sure that you have what you need and that everything tastes OK. The restaurants food and service are very good. Since, I have found a favorite dish from the beginning, I really cannot comment on any other dishes. The ones that my husband has ordered, he has enjoyed. He has ordered their Fajitas among other things with no complaint. The only thing that I did have a problem with, is that when I asked for an alternative sauce that was mild to go with my chips, the only alternative was a warm sauce that was not anything like salsa. I would like to see a salsa there that is mild, so I can enjoy the taste that I love without the heat. Unfortunately, I am very sensitive to anything spicy, but I have found other restaurants that do make it that way for customers like me. This restaurant just is not one of them. read more

This place has it okay and really bad day. For example I went yesterday and hand a good time good drink and okay food. Now the time before they messed up my food twice once I cannot eat onions so I asked for no onions on the Pollo Ranchero and it was smothered in them.second when we got the bill our waiter screwed up our checks over and over again... then at one point after we payed said that we didn't pay for our margaritas. Took 15 minutes for her to take our order when from when we sat down. The kitchen took 45 minutes (not exaggerating) for the food to get out and my food was not there. Waitress did NOT write down my order. Took another 15 minutes to get my food out. A total of 90 minutes from the time we entered to getting my food for a Mexican place!!!!! This is a high energy and fast paced restaurant with excellent service. It has a standard Mexican menu with daily specials. The food seems to be a little spicer than other Mexican restaurants in the area (which I think is a good thing). Great margaritas. read more

This evening my family and I ate here and the unthinkable happened. I took a bite out of my taco and there was a sharp object in my mouth. While gagging it out, in the back of my mind I'm hoping it's a bone?! But no, it was a piece of wire. I was flabbergasted! I instantly took my plate up to the store looking for the manager. Once she got to me, she acted like it wasn't a big deal and didn't even apologize! She said I can get a new fresh meal but seriously after that situation I completely lost appetite! I demanded a no charge and even that was a hassel to even get. I am more cantankerous that the manager didn't take initiative, it was mainly my waiter who was apologetic and was trying his best to soothed the situation. And the manager had poor customer service since we walked in, she's the one who sat us down and she didn't greet us or anything. As someone who knows Mexican food hailing from Phoenix, I must say I am VERY impressed not only with the excellent dining experience but with the fantastic service and mouthwatering food. Sorry, not very good imitation of Mexican food. I had the Tamales Tipico.When they were brought to the table they were tepid at best. I sent them back to be re-heated. That was first clue that the tamales were of the frozen variety. No flavor, were supposed to be beef tamales, not, chicken or some kind of mystery meat. Chips and salsa were uninspiring too.
