Went to Guanajuato Mexican Restaurant on Mother's Day. They had special margaritas for the occasion, piña colada (my favorite) & peach margarita. We ended up ordering a piña colada and mango margarita. The server was really nice and even let us swap the mango for the peach margarita price. The menu is quite vast and they do have good vegetarian options as well. We ordered seafood enchiladas and a burrito grande and honestly it was grandeee :-D Prices are not high at all considering the portion sizes. Quality of food is easily 10/10. We ended up taking half our plates home. Nice place to sit overall. Interiors are good, lighting is pleasant, and seating feels comfortable with enough personal space. I think I just found my new favorite Mexican restaurant :) P.S. - They had a special Mother's Day dessert and didn't even charge for it. It was a really sweet and thoughtful gesture. read more

Nondescript exterior in the shopping center beside the hardware store. The interior is also nothing to write home about. But the staff is very friendly. The salsa is watery but OK, especially if you add a little hot sauce. The entree came out hot with the four flour tortillas in a warmer. The Arroz con Pollo comes with mushrooms and onions in their orange sauce. Different from their ACP. It was very tasty. And the lunch prices are very reasonable. I'll have to check out some of their other menu offerings. I gave it three stars, would like to give it 3.5 but can't. read more

Great Tex/Mex place. I used to live in the community just behind it and would regularly walk to get a quality meal. My favorite is the molcajete. What a hidden gem! Not sure why I waited so long before I ate here. The customer service is fantastic and everyone is so kind. They always greet me with a warm smile and make sure I'm taken care of. On the other hand, the food is remarkable. I've had the burritos here and it's so soft and fluffy. They don't hold back on the filling. I was able to have a piece of meat in every bite. Went with my wife to try this place after moving to the area. We ordered the veggi - chiladas, a chicken chimichanga and a side of guacamole. Started off with bland salsa. Normally we scarf up the chips but today we ate a few with salsa then stopped. When the food arrived, my chimichanga had shredded cheddar cheese on top (un melted) and what appeared to be American cheese inside. Taste was very bland. Hers was very bland. She left half of it uneaten. She said the guacamole was good. Service was ok - not great. Ambiance was cheap Mexican place. Nothing special at all. While I don't recommend trying the place, it does seem fine for kids. Lots of room. So, if you want Mexican food, find somewhere else. read more

I've been eating at Guanajuato (previously Toraroes) since I was about 5 years old (now 24) and even came for my high school prom night. Mostly the same workers for the entire time I've been coming here. Wonderful and inviting environment with quick service and amazing food for the price you pay. We are regulars, been coming for past 5 years at least 1-2x a month. The food is always fresh and hearty portions. We come so often our servers know our orders without us even having to look at the menu lol. The OG servers refill your drinks as soon as they are halfway. There are a lot of new hires so we notice some slowness but that's part of the deal. We get the Mar y Tiera and carne asada which is very filling and always plenty to take back for leftovers. We've been eating here since 2017. Every single meal has been delicious. We eat here often. Perfect for a quick lunch or a weekend meal with 3 generations. Staff is always attentive and on the ball. This place has been around at least 15 years, though until recently it was a branch of the Torero's empire. It serves the area well but it's not authentic nor does it use the highest quality ingredients (though they do have some really good green and red hot salsas that they will gladly provide upon request). I have lived a mile from it off and on for over a decade and it's dependable in the sense that it's not going to ever be horrible, the service is going to be pretty good, you will be able to get a table and the drinks will be cheap and cold. If you expect anything more than that you should perhaps temper your own expectations before setting foot in the place. I usually get the chorizo con huevos or the coctel de camaron because both are uniformly good. The cheese dip is also always decent though the guacamole is definitely hit or miss. I would avoid any of the meat dishes as the meat is always really tough. I love Guanajuato/Toreros but if I lived two or three miles further towards Monterey or Cerritos or whatever I would never go back there as its biggest selling point is its convenience. read more

I have been to Guanjuanto many times for almost 2 years for dining in and takeout. Overall, it is a pretty restaurant for Mexican food despite having some downfalls. I was on the fence on whether to give this place 3 stars, but I ended up giving it 4 for the quick service and friendly employees. As far food, the quality of their ingredients is something they are quite lacking on some of their items. For example, we ordered guacamole with our chips, and it tasted like guacamole that comes from the store. The salsa, on the other hand, is pretty darn good, so you do not need guacamole. The beans looked like they got them from a can, but hey, you get that with pretty much every Mexican restaurant. Despite the lack of great ingredients, their food still taste pretty good, and they have been very consistent the times I have ordered there. The best perk of this restaurant is amount of food you are getting for your money's worth. I can almost guarantee that you will get full at this place, have leftovers for the next day, and not burn a hole in your wallet. In fact, their menu is even cheaper if you go during lunch (lunch is served until 4pm). I usually get the chicken fajitas and I am not left disappointed. They also have daily specials which are sometimes worth trying since it's a good deal. On my most recent visit, I got the Fajitas burrito for $9.99 and it was filling and pretty good. Also, their are a huge variety of things on their menu, so you may want to look it up online prior to coming if you are generally indecisive, so you will not hold up your party (don't be that person). Another good thing about this place is the service. You will get your food pretty quickly which can make me again question the quality of their ingredients. As far as the interior of the place, it could use some renovating, but the service was quick and the employees were nice.
