Excellent! I met my niece and her family there on Saturday for lunch. We were promptly greeted and were asked where we wanted to be seated. After ordering our margaritas (which were huge), we settled in to select our food. We started with the pork belly appetizer. WOWZA! it was absolutely amazing and definitely large enough to share. I ordered the fajitas, my niece ordered the vampire shrimp and her husband ordered the pork carnitas tacos. We had a 3 year old with us and they took extra care to make her food exactly how she liked it, and she ate all of it. (She's a picky eater!) The portions were large, with our table overflowing from all the extras. Chips were fresh - and the mild salsa was great. I love this new spot in Pittsboro! Aye Torro has a wonderful menu that offers a variety of items. My friend and I enjoyed the flautas, arroz con pollo, watermelon margaritas and churros. Once seated, chips and salsa were immediately brought to our table. We enjoyed the chips and salsa while looking over the menu. The waiter literally brought our order to our table about five minutes after we decided what to try. The food was delicious! I ordered the Flautas, which are my fav. The order came with rice and refried beans. The waiter continually checked on us to ensure we were enjoying our meals. He was so nice! Good Mexican with fresh ingredients. We stopped by on a weeknight and the place was only about 1/3 full. We were the only gringos in the place, which I always take as a good sign. The menu has all your Tex-Mex favorites and we both quickly found something to try. I had a vegetarian plate and the star was a spinach enchilada made with fresh spinach. We're doing dry January so can't comment on the margarita quality, but we'll update about that the next time we come in. The service was super-fast and quite friendly. The agua de pina on the other hand I found far too sweet with not much of a pineapple taste. The queso was delicious and so was the salsa. Now the tacos were delicious with immense flavor and moist not dry at all. The beans and rice were good nothing crazy but nothing bad. The ACP was also good again nothing great but nothing bad. Such a great find today on an impromptu trip to Pittsboro! This is a new taco and tequila restaurant in town. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere along with fresh chips and salsa, along with guacamole for an appetizer. The salsa was not spicy but we did request and sample the spicy salsa and it's SPICY, so if you like heat go for it but that's not for us so we passed. For our meals we ordered A.C.P. and Pollo Loco. The cheese sauce on the A.C.P. was delicious and had just enough. Hubs ordered the Pollo Loco and the grilled chicken was deliciously seasoned, not spicy at all. We liked the main courses we ordered from here. I wasn't thrilled with the watermelon mojito. It was a rather shocking $16 for a drink that I won't be ordering again. Honestly, people say this sometimes, but I mean it. the Texas fajitas came with steak that had a good flavor, perfect large shrimp and yummy chicken. The burrito was not smothered in cheese to hide anything because the whole giant burrito was delicious. The service was happy servers with attentiveness. Overpriced, bad acoustics. We got a couple tacos and the bill was $40 for two people. I couldn't pick up my tacos, had to eat them with a knife and fork. There is an upcharge if you want anything on your taco, like lettuce or onion. I ordered rice and beans with my tacos, which were missing when the food came out. I didn't care for my refried beans, they were a bright orange color- too much chili powder or something. Our server came by at least 8 times: is everything okay? That is not good service, that is plain annoying. So basically, I didn't like the food, the service, the ambiance, or the prices. I won't be returning. read more

We ordered Dos Equis Amber beers that were quite cold. She ate simple soft tacos on corn tortillas; I had Pablanos Enchiladas, 2 chicken, 2 ground beef with sides of rice & refried beans, the dishes were both excellent --the beans perhaps the tastiest I've ever had. Place was lively but not so loud we couldn't talk. We also encountered 2 sets of friends that evening, both of whom were also eating there for their 1st times. They, too, were pleased. Prices were comparable to other nearby latin-food places. From the lay-out, in warmer weather you can see they will have an open rear area + patio. We'll be back! read more
