We have been in the process of trying to sell the property to the same Buyer for the past approx. 6 months and still have not closed as a result of issues with the mortgage broker and the title company (Chicago Title Company). I have never been involved with such incompetent and ineffectual personnel. Problems stemming from not following instructions of the Seller, understanding basic arithmetic, and providing incorrect information on tax matters to a party who is an accountant.

Now, the past 6 months, during a pandemic we are paying an extra $700 a month and we can't do a thing about it unless we completely refinance. And that doesnt include the extra few thousand we had to pay for city taxes and could only get resolved after almost a year because the committee overseeing that issue meets twice a year. And because it is out of his hands there are zero repercussions for him. Oh and he also lost all of our paperwork then forgot we even gave it to him. Thankfully it was eventually found. I received direct e-mails from their staff trying to resolve my issues, questions, and address the frustrations I have been having. Additionally, my loan information is now available on their website, which I found to be easy to navigate. At this time my payments are up-to-date, automatic payments have been set up, and I no longer feel stressed about the transition. Yes, they did lose a star still because of the initial headaches, but I have to admit that this is the only company I have reviewed on Yelp! to actually reach out and try hard to address my issues, so I give them credit for that. If anything, it's worth giving Member First a second chance.

My Pacific time credit union held my mortgage and suddenly transferred it to these Eastern types (my credit union's fault, not this LLC's fault). Interface to new outfit immediately exposed their strength (good-hearted, hard working , polite, Midwest-U.S. front line phone talent) and their weaknesses (unable to provide a payment coupon book, sometimes don't get payments mailed in plenty of time to them on time or at all, defective computer programming that improperly doesn't credit payment, intransigent management that won't talk w/a customer, intransigent IT that won't directly hear from customers about their defects). That said, this was not a mortgage this LLC originated, but obtained. Their mortgage origination processes *may* be less defective, but I suspect once established, the customer would still be exposed to the defective back office processes and the defective management behind them. I'm pretty sure these this outfit is not a Bunco scheme, but given how much bunco there is in U.S. finance these days, it's a terrible tell that their business behaviors looks so much like a bunco scheme. I wish their front-line phone people could get beamed out and into a company that deserves them.

He also blamed the underwriters in his own company for the more than three month process. Alex was provided with everything he asked for promptly and he still failed to deliver timely responses. In fact, he lost a very crucial email that had to be sent to him again with his own acknowledgment of receipt. Embarrassing. Additionally, Alex provided false information about the closing costs for a VA loan. His behavior demonstrated his lack of understanding and desire to help the customer feel comfortable, especially when there were so many questions due to mistakes. He did not listen to feedback and provided incorrect data to the title company. My name was spelled wrong! This was a miserable failure. I recommend choosing a different mortgage broker.
