But is the company reputable? And do you really want to go with a relatively new company even if is owned by your buddy. He decided, no. Newman is competitive with hundreds of 5 star reviews. He went with Newman. Subsequently we had a hail storm and neighbors were advising us to get our roof checked out. Our roof was 20 years old. I wanted to be honest with the insurance company and not submit a claim unless Tyler from Newman,who came out to give us an estimate, was sure we needed a new roof and we suffered damage beyond normal wear and tear. Plus we had 2 houses. Well one needed a new roof and the other one likely has another couple of years left. As an aside, if you turn in a claim to your insurance company, even if it is denied, you risk higher premiums or cancelation. That is why it is important to have Newman Roofing spend time assessing. In our case, our roof was more wear and tear with minimal hail. Dan and his guys were on time, even early. Weather has consistently been in the mid 90's. I was worried. But Newman keeps them well supplied with hydration. 14 man crew meant lots of vehicles, even a dump truck but they were minimally disruptive to our neighbors. Furniture moved, netting put up to minimize construction mess on house and garden areas. And then they went to work. All I can say is WOW. I am so pleased. When they were finished, the cleaned up all the mess, including using a magnetized thing for nails in driveway, patio and grass. The yard, the patio, the driveway, the porches are SPOTLESS. I highly highly highly recommend Newman Roofing. They did my kid's. They did this roof and in 2 years they will do our other roof. Price is good too.

At first it seemed our roof was fine…read more... until the same issue occurred again when the backside of our roof was sloping .. we called a honest company whose been in business 30 years and sure enough .. Estep Roofing didn't do as stated , the entire backside of our roof had to be redone , due to sloppy , not up to code work .. we had a total of 17 rafter tails broken that were like that in 2017 , but instead of addressing it they covered it up , along with using the wrong type of OSB board that was not even code, bad, warped, dry rotted and damaged pieces of ply wood and it all should have been replaced and was not . Fascia boards were rotten all the way through and should have been replaced and weren't, they put the ice and water shield on top of existing felt paper which isn't code it should have been laid directly on roof deck.. and ice guard should have been 2 ft above wall and it was not. You will see in the pictures how bad it was , Mike the owner is NOT a honorable man , he refused to come out and see his crews awful job .. and we had no other choice but to call our Attorney which he is currently working on this case for us. Our insurance is USAA and they paid Mike to do the job and would have paid to have the broken rafters fixed , but instead they chose to ignore it. I pray nobody else has to go through this , but sadly I believe you will.

Buckeye gave us an incredibly reasonable estimate on the new roof for the house, TWO flat roof…read morereworks, plus gutters AND they repaired the shady fascia board between the first and second floors, under one of the (no longer) flat roofs. Everything looks so good! We chose the same shingles for the house that we had put on the carriage house/garage, and although it's hard to see up top, they do look amazing. And the drainage around the house is SO MUCH BETTER. At the time the crew was out, we were having other repairs inside the house, and everyone did the trades shuffle with grace and humor. You haven't seen a crew work like these guys did until you realize they roofed a 7,200 sq ft historic house in just 3 days--including the flat roof rebuilds. So much attention and care was paid to the fabric of the home, and each flat roof got its own plan and treatment. They did our carriage house in early spring 2026, and the same attention to detail means we now own two very spiffy historic structures. Call Buckeye, you can't go wrong.

I told him he was busy and could not join us and that I was the point person for this project. He asked a third time if my husband could join us, citing that I might not be able to remember all the information I was given. I told him if he was not going to provide a consultation/estimate for me, the project owner, unless a man was with me then we can cancel. I led him out of the house 30 seconds later.
