My most recent appointment was canceled without my consent because I did not respond to a text message. Text messages are not my preferred or most reliable form of communication, and I was never informed that failing to reply to a text would result in an automatic cancellation. No phone call. No voicemail. Just a canceled appointment. I find this to be a poor and inflexible business practice, especially for a medical office where patients may reasonably expect more traditional or reliable forms of communication. Canceling appointments solely based on unanswered texts -- without confirmation by phone -- is frustrating and disrespectful of patients' time. It's unfortunate because the doctor is very good, but the office policies and administrative handling need serious improvement. Until that changes, I can't confidently recommend this practice.

The medical clinic oddly did not take my insurance, but they suggested I visit Dr. Kirkconnell instead. I walked in and the staff immediately attended to me and assured me that the doctor could see me. I was very impressed by the staff's attentiveness, professionalism, and friendliness. After filling out a bit of paperwork, I was taken back to an exam room. Dr. Kirkconnell visited me after just a few minutes. What followed was the most thorough eye exam I have ever had - he examined under my eyelids and even used some kind of iodine solution to check for damage to my corneas. I was impressed that he could even tell whether the conjunctivitis was viral or allergic. In short, he had a great deal of expertise, far more than you would get from a general practitioner. He also took the time to answer all my questions and explain everything. He had a pleasant demeanor. I highly recommend this place - I am even thinking of making him my main ophthalmologist. Another bonus, for Spanish-only speakers, there is a fluent Spanish speaker on staff.

At this point what a silly notion and I can only assume those still hiding behind masks are mentally ill and in need of psychiatric care. Ridiculous to even have to deal with this at this stage. While the doctor that would see me was nice it was not a comfortable environment and I won't be back.

He was incredibly unprofessional, unorganized and just plain unlikable. The visit began by DR. FRYE yelling my name from down a hallway while I sat in the waiting room. Then he demands that I wear a face mask in his office. Now, I have a toddler with me, so i am holding her and fumbling with this mask. I initially put it on upside down. He makes me turn it around while he is wearing his under his nose! We finally get to why I am there. I tell him that my eyes have been red and burning for a month and a half. He pulls up my scans from my annual visit earlier that year and asks me if my mother had rheumatoid arthritis. WHAT? Next he proceeds to push his ungloved finger into my lower eyelid to see if something comes out of the glands located there. His fingernail touched and hurt each of my eyeballs! This man insisted that I wear a mask, and yet he did not wash his hands before he stuck them in my eyes and he did not wash them when he was done. Eventually he decided that I had and autoimmune disorder. He prescribed incredibly expensive prescription eyedrops that may or may not help. 4 days later, i have NOT filled this prescription and my eyes have been improving on their own. I have never been so upset by my treatment at the hands of a "Doctor". His disrespect was not only limited to me. He treated other staff members disrespectfully, in front of me! The best part of this appointment was how well my 19 month old behaved. She was a perfect angel. I will say that I still am impressed and adore the rest of the staff there. They would get 5 stars. This awful DR. FRYE would get negative stars if I could give them. Beware! Make sure you know which doctor is available before you make your appointment. I have never left a review like this anywhere. That is how much this visit traumatized me.

Dr. Peace taught me more about my prescription and eyes than any optometrist that I've seen in 33 years. He is honest and pleasant to around. Being as busy as we all can be, its hard to wait and be patient. :) We ordered a trial pair of contacts (first time attempting to wear them vs. glasses) and they came in very quick. I went to a retina specialist and they said I 100% don't have a hole in my retina. Then when I went back to Cool Springs Eye care and told them they legitimately laughed at me as if it was obvious the specialist was wrong (who they recommended to me). Since then I've gotten it checked by multiple other Doctors and confirmed that there is no hole in my retina. Then they got my prescription wrong by nearly a whole point! When I told them that something felt off they acted bothered and told me there is nothing that they can do. Dr. Robin Brady in particular has the unique quality of being both incredibly arrogant and simultaneously laughably wrong about what he's talking about. I've never been to a worse eye doctor before, someone should seriously take his license away. Please steer clear and go to another doctor in town.

First let me compliment all of the staff. They were great. But beware of anyone who tells you they are the "Best" in Nashville and maybe in the state as this doctor said multiple times during my many appointments. This doctor over promised and under delivered!!! First appointment I asked the doctor if I was a good candidate for the lens he reccomended. His answer was absolutely. I have had two surgeries on my left eye. After the first, my vision was blurry even after almost 7 weeks. The doctor said he needed to rotate the lens. I had light flashes after the first surgery. The second surgery all but eliminated the flashes. But my vision was still blurry. At my last appointment the doctor only wanted to talk about doing the cataract surgery on my other eye using a different lens. He said you need both eyes done to see well. I told the doctor that I was not comfortable with having surgery on my right eye before getting my left eye corrected. At that point the doctor said he was not used to someone suggesting how he should do his job. I then went to my optometrist, they suggested seeing another surgeon. I have and he did not recommend doing the surgery on my right eye until we get the left (first eye) corrected with a different lens. I have spent $4800 with Vision for Life and this has taken over 3 months and now I need another surgery on my left eye. I asked the surgery coordinator with Vision for Life to ask the doctor to work out a financial compromise maybe a 50 % reduction in the cost since my surgeries did not resolve my problem. He refused and asked to see me again and try to correct my vision. Maybe the doctor with Vision for Life could have corrected this problem, however after two surgeries and the doctor's attitude and arrogance I did not have the confidence to have surgery by that doctor again.
