My personal residence had about 7 rotted out fence posts and my neigbhor and I agreed on splitting the costs, to begin looking into it. I reached out to Tim, the owner, and began the process of getting us a quote. And, I'm glad that I did! All the best attributes of working with a professional were apparent. Tim was friendly, listened well and directly answered questions. He communicated well and was on time! In person, he was friendly and offered some suggestions and did what he said he would each step of the way. The bid came promptly and was professionally laid out including a basic diagram/graphic of the fence in relationship to the homes and clearly marking each post that was to be replaced. It's also listed each property owner and the 50/50 split. Things matched up perfectly and exceeded expectations. The two man crew arrived when they were supposed to. Because of my busy work schedule, I wasn't able to thoroughly inspect the fence before signing off. Once I finally did, I noticed several issues, including large and uneven gaps between the pickets, one broken picket that wasn't properly nailed in, and another that was bent at the top. I contacted Juan, and to his credit, he had the crew return to replace the broken and bent pickets. However, he never addressed my concerns about the large gaps in the fence. This is supposed to be a privacy fence, yet I can clearly see into my neighbor's yard when standing near it, which defeats its purpose. I reached out again regarding the gaps. Juan responded that he would let me know the next steps. Instead, he later sent me photos of someone else's backyard and tried to use those pictures to explain why the gaps were normal. Those photos were not of my property. I understand that wood naturally shrinks as it dries, but the gaps on my fence were already significant, and this was less than a month after installation. Rather than addressing my concerns or offering a reasonable solution, they chose to make excuses and use photos from another project to support their position. I've spent weeks going back and forth trying to resolve this issue, and it's been incredibly frustrating. I expected better communication, honesty, and customer service. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing, and I cannot recommend this company.

When we first spoke with J&D fence they were so nice and fairly priced. We are happy to have a new…read morefence and it does look decent however we did have a few simple things that we were not happy about. We had several boards that were warped, some areas did not have the nails put in so the boards were lose and our gate was on backwards. They did come back and turned the gate around but were not happy to do so. As far as the warped boards he said he has no control over the wood they get. We waited 3 months to do a post and made several calls to give them a chance to back their work but to no avail. Several locations the gap between the boards are about 1/2 in. Huge! So eventually we will need to probably put boards over the spaces all around and replace warped boards because it will just get worse. Our gate does not shut correctly because the post wasn't set right so we have to slam in. We were suppose to have a 1 year warranty but I am not sure what that was for. I did a review on their website and they deleted it. We really wish they would have just came and fixed those few things. We would have been more than happy to do a great review because we are happy to have a new fence, the crew was kind and respectful and the price was reasonable. You just have to be totally happy when they're done because they won't back their work.
