I felt that the job was in good hands and done with care. Highly recommend. Since this review was posted, Guerreros Electric came back to trouble shoot a problem I had felt was solved. They went above and beyond in spending time to resolve this very tricky issue (a wire to a rarely used fan shorting a fuse - but intermittently) and then refused any additional payment. I have enjoyed Guerreros' excellent electrician services for the six years I've owned my home. Most recently, I had put my house on the market and it was in pristine condition and being shown to potential buyers. Then I needed to switch out a malfunctioning porch light timer, and in doing so, something went wrong with the power to the kitchen disposal and dishwasher. I called Carlos to ask for a service appointment. Instead of booking himself into a paying service call, he asked me to send him photos of the AC outlet and the electrical panel, and told me how to fix the problem myself, over email. I can see why Carlos has received excellent reviews in the past. Carlos and Jose just spent about 3 hours to install a chandelier in our dining room, troubleshoot multiple switches and evaluate, as well as, educate us on the differences and benefits of upgrading our sub panel vs. grounding non-grounded electrical outlets throughout our 1940 house. He is the third electrician to assess our current electrical status, and we finally felt that his assessment was more honest, direct, and logical compared to others. In addition, upon initially contacting him via his website, we received a response later that day, which resulted in him coming out to our house a few days later. So thrilled with the service these guys provided. They came in and rewired my entire house after a dangerous hard short knocked out the entire house, which had old knob and tube wiring. Within a week, I have a vastly improved electrical infrastructure, massively reduced fire risk, and they added a bathroom fan (old house, didn't have one), wired smoke detectors, and fan/light fixtures in upstairs rooms, and removed all the wiring and fixtures associated with an old security system that was no longer in use. The entire crew behaved with the utmost professionalism -- while having a crew of electricians in your relatively small home during a stay-at-home order is not ideal, these guys made it as painless and seamless an experience as imaginable. read more

Very recommended. Guerreros installed a 220 V range outlet for us that involved running a ~20 foot cable through the crawl space into the kitchen. They brought in an professional team with 2 electricians + 1 foreman. They used floor protection and examined the range schematics to ensure the outlet was in the best position. I used Guerreros for the first time in March 2020 to replace a light/exhaust fan combination over a shower and install an exterior electrical plug for a new irrigation system. They were very responsive to my phone calls and email. They sent two skilled electricians out within a day or two who did the work quickly and efficiently in a couple of hours. I would like to give Guerreros Electric my highest recommendation. I have an older home which needed a lot of electrical updating. We're talking really old wires, ungrounded outlets, no GFIs in the kitchen/bath, too many shared circuits, a high fire-risk subpanel (google "Federal Pacific"), etc. I consulted with quite a few electricians and contractors whom various people recommended. Carlos Guerrero quickly rose to the top of my list for the following reasons: -He was the first to respond to my inquiry. He returned my email the same day--many of the other contractors took 3-4 days to get back to me. -He was quick to set up an appointment for a walk-through of the house, despite his busy schedule. He came directly after a job on the same day we first corresponded. He was punctual, very professional, and also seemed very genuine. -He produced an itemized quote immediately (also on the same day we first corresponded!). I thought this was especially impressive given that I had contractors who balked at itemizing quotes (they wanted to just give one number for the whole job), and other contractors who had to have 2-4 business days to return quotes. -He is really knowledgeable and can clearly explain electrical work to someone who doesn't know the first thing about wires, etc. He was remarkably patient and courteous with questions, and answered my many questions thoroughly over both phone and email. I talked to quite a few other electricians who ended up confusing me greatly with overly technical terminology. -He is a licensed electrician and knows how to do everything to code. That said, he also knows how to work on a budget and will be very up front with you on what is important to do right away for safety reasons, and what can wait until later. His prioritizing really helped me hone in to the truly necessary items for my job. -He came up with some really brilliant solutions and recommendations for the quirky and messy problems that my old house presented. He was very knowledgeable of energy efficient products and I feel that that knowledge has already translated into lower electric bills for me. -And amazingly, his prices were the best of all the people I interviewed. I think that contractors who hire out to an electrician automatically add a markup to the electrician's pricing, so it's more afforadable for the consumer to go through an electrician directly. After I interviewed many people for my job, I came to the conclusion that Carlos is really honest with his pricing. -Carlos and his great two-person crew finished the job easily within the very short time frame quoted and slightly under the estimated price! They also did some really kind extras for my job: -They installed a light fixture that I had chosen, and when I didn't like the look of it with the house, they took it out and installed another one I chose instead. The second fixture looked tremendously better. -They checked every single one of the lighting fixtures in the house and didn't charge me for this even though it involved removing fixtures, cleaning out boxes, re-installing fixtures, etc. I'm sure this took quite a bit of time. -Carlos put a temporary 220 volt switch in my subpanel because I was getting some flooring repaired and the flooring people needed access to higher voltage to run their machines. -The thing that I most appreciated was that because of all the re-wiring, they had to cut some holes in the walls. They kept the number of holes at an absolute minimum. They also cut the holes as very neat little rectangles and kept the pieces of drywall that they cut out. At the end of the job, they screwed each rectangle back into place, which means that I can smooth some joint compound over the cracks and throw a quick coat of paint over--it has saved me so much time in patching holes myself. The other electricians that I talked to said they would make holes, but wouldn't do any patching or painting whatsoever. -And finally, Carlos said he would remain available for any questions I might have after the job, and he has remained true to that, even volunteering to come back out to the house to further explain things to me in person. I am so impressed with Carlos and his team. They have really gone above and beyond in every single aspect of their work. I would strongly recommend anyone looking for an electrician to make use of his great services. Given the large number of people I interviewed for this job, I would unhesitatingly say that Carlos is one of the best electricians in the East Bay Area. You would be lucky to get him! read more

Are you even an electrician!? Claims he can run new cable add new outlets. When I tell him it is an Ethernet cable / outlet I need he tells me he can't do the job. This job consists of nothing different from an running ordinary electrical cables except that they don't have to connect to anything, there is just one outlet to another outlet. Carlos Guerrero and his crew were smart, nice, efficient and extremely thorough. I had an "electrical mystery", with a short circuit somewhere that cut off power to half the house. I unplugged everything and found the light switch that was causing the breaker to shut off. However, it was Carlos and crew who traced the line to an old outside conduit we never used (which made sense since it coincided with the rain). Carlos and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. We had something "blow out" in the middle of the night, which meant half our house had no electricity when we woke up. On the phone, before even discussing any charges for his services, he walked me through all the troubleshooting steps I could take before a professional would need to come out. Once we determined that it was something I could fix (a new fuse), he was at my home within 30 minutes, and for a very reasonable initial consultation fee, fixed the issue within about an hour, and didn't charge me any more than what he said on the phone. He also noticed an issue on the outside of the building which PG&E needs to fix, and went out of his way to help me call their emergency line, explain the issue, and schedule them to come out and fix a wire which was a fire hazard! We had a great experience with Guerreros. Needed to have a range hood fan installed in a location without wiring. Was able to schedule with them just a couple days before needing the work. They arrived on time, got right up in the attic, figured out what was needed, and got the install done. Did some clean up before leaving, and the fan is working great. I highly recommend Guerreros Electric for your electrical service needs. I recently called them to have two dead outlets replaced in my older home. Carlos promptly scheduled an appointment for a couple of days later (for a specific time even, not a huge window!). Two of his technicians arrived promptly at the scheduled time. They easily and efficiently replaced the two outlets (no "we will need to rewire the entire house to complete the work" issues) at a reasonable price ($150 per hour, which was $30 per hour less than another nearby company was charging). The technicians were friendly and courteous, and even had booties for their shoes, which many technicians do not these days (or even if they do, they balk at having to use them).
