There was supposed to be class visits for student applicants in February-March 2025 to see if they were a good fit and if the child liked the environment. We were never contacted for a visit. In fact, we were never contacted about anything at all. I am writing this review in May 2025 and we never received notification that she had been accepted or not. Clearly, she had not, and we have moved on so that is fine. But aren't we at least owed an answer for our $500? My wife wrote to inquire and was told that a post card acknowledging the application was sent in October 2024. Ok, fine. But what about after October 2024? My wife was told the file was incomplete. Ok, if that is the case, why were we not notified? We sent all required materials so we we were unaware that the file was incomplete. But that still raises the question why the admissions director at WRM did not follow up and notify us that certain materials were missing (apparently lost by their side)? I cannot speak to the pedagogy at WRM. It may be very good. But the admission process leaves much to be desired. The two stars are for an unwillingness to follow up or to notify us of their decision. I guess we were just to supposed to figure out that no news meant rejection. As I said, that is fine because we found an alternative school and accepted its offer. But WRM needs to get its admission process corrected. We don't think it is right to take money and then never respond with an answer.

Background info: my child currently attends a montessori in California and judging from the website I thought this school would be a pretty amazing fit. I saw there were only 3 spots left and I wasn't sure if it were for the current year or for the start of the next school year so I called and left a voicemail to learn more information. I received a call at 8am PST (a few minutes ago). Instead of introducing herself, and the school. She just stated "what do you want to know?" We'll generally ma'm all of the information that one would need to know when a parent is excited (was excited) for their child to possibly attend this school of course . I mentioned the word "tuition" and was cut off immediately with a boisterous "it's fifteen thousand dollars". Ok, I saw that part posted online, what I wanted clarity as to know things like the tuition scheduling breakdown for payments over the course of the year...but according to her I'm assuming its a lump sum payment. And since I was cut off I'm assuming the admission fees, supply fees and any other fees are just thrown in the abyss of fees without a breakdown. Her next question was followed by what grade and I mentioned LOWER ELEMENTARY. She then proceeded to ask me if my child were in school...well of course, yes my child is in school. I was then asked if I we're familiar with Montessori education... yes I am (one should draw the conclusion that if I mention that my child is in LOWER ELEMENTARY that would most likely mean that my child is already enrolled in a Montessori). I was then asked what grade my child were in. I mentioned technically it would be 1st grade (for a public education). I was then asked if my child started school...of course, yes. She then proceeded to say, "so he would be in 2nd grade next year?" this seemed like a trick question to check my knowledge of the Montessori method, or to see if I knew what number came after 1 . I felt unnecessarily grilled. The representative seemed bothered that she had to call me back and stated that I could go online "as theres a ton of information on there". I informed her that we were moving from CA, and I wanted to be on top of things since the schools website mentioned there were only three spots left and I didn't want to miss out. She mentioned nothing else really, just when did I expect to move and I mentioned for the fall... I was told to schedule an appointment online. Ok, It would make absolutely zero sense for me to schedule a visit to a school that doesn't have any openings for the intended school year while I still live in CA. What is so wrong with wanting a seamless transition? I would also like to mention that the school's website invites parents to call for more information (which I did). I didn't like her tone, it was snarky. How dare I call White Rock Montessori to learn more information (only to be redirected back to the site that could not answer my question which still went unanswered on the phone call). The schools online presence does not match with the attitude of school personnel, and the way the representative came off was as if this were an exclusive boarding school for uber wealthy investors in the UAE.

Miss Aya is extremely giving, and nurturing.... Every time I go to her class, I see all the children are so peaceful, I have never heard any of the children cry... and they learnt so much. My daughter tells me that she misses her teacher over weekends, and that makes me feel so grateful. I have seen a big difference in her personality... She's happier and more confident due to the teacher she has who focuses on overall growth of the personality for the children. I text both directors within one hour of dropping him off asking how he was doing and received NO response. After a while i was set up on the parent app and sent a picture of my son "hugging" another kid with the caption "making friends". First red flag! My son will not just hug anyone infact he wouldn't know what to do if you asked him to do that so i was positive this was staged! According to the schedule, my son should have been in circle time, so I asked for a picture of him and circle time in which I received a picture of him from behind. Knowing my son I could tell from his past year, he wasn't happy even though I couldn't see his face so I asked to see a picture of his face and no one ever responded, this caused me to go to the school and pick him up. When I arrived, there was a lady that I had never met at the front desk. The doors were not locked. I just walked right in and as I'm walking past her, I told her I was going to check on my son and she said OK, there was no check for ID no lock on the door nothing! Upon arriving to my sons class I'm looking through the two way mirror for my son I couldn't find him. This was because he was at the bottom of the door crying. I open the door picked up my son and his eyes were almost swollen. Shut from crying. I asked the teacher how long he had been crying. She said for 30 minutes I asked why she didn't call me she said because she thought he would stop! This is crazy because I asked for them to call me if he was having a hard time and clearly they did not. Another issue is all of the teachers are foreign, and have heavy accents, so for a toddler to be placed in an unfamiliar environment with teachers who do not speak clear English isn't very comforting. This was my first time meeting the teachers because when I went for a tour, it was at 5 PM when they were getting ready to close so the teachers had left. So I proceed to pick up my son, take all of his belongings and walk out the door when I arrived home 20 minutes later, one of the directors which I text at 9:45 responded to my inquiry of how my son was doing by saying."HE IS DOING VERY GOOD MOMMY HE IS EATING LUNCH"! I then responded"He can't be eating lunch because I PICKED HIM UP 20 MINUTES AGO" she then responds with "you don't want him to eat lunch"? Everyday my kids are very happy to come here. My children are 4 months and 17months so they are not yet talking to tell me how they feel but i can tell by their body language that they are happy. My 4 month old has been going here since he was 7 weeks and he LOVES his teacher. He is only 4 months and when he sees his teacher his smile goes from ear to ear , he starts cooing at her and giggling. Everyday they give me a paper on the times he has eaten and had his diaper changed... also they pay very close attention to the kids because they will tell me when they notice something different in my kids. For instance ms.falguni told me that my son was not acting the same and the next day he had a cold and a fever! she told me to pay close attention to him overnight and she was right. I can go on and on about how much i love them. The director is also there everyday at the front desk available to talk if you have any concerns. She is not only at the desk but she is also in the classrooms as well , when my kids come in she greets both of them by name ! when my 17 month old first joined , they did not just throw him in with toddlers , they eased him in slowly to make sure he would not have any problems , as far as kids scratching him/biting/fighting since he was about 13 months at the time he was not as advanced as the 18 month old toddlers, he was also much smaller. I will randomly sing a song like ABC's around him to see how he reacts to see if they sing it to him at school and he gets really excited and starts to dance and clap. He did have an indecent one time when he was bit but they gave me a full report on it soon as i walked into the classroom, and it has not ever happened again. I'm not sure on how they tolerate biters , but they did definitely resolve this issue! One time my son had a scratch on his face because he did it himself at home over the weekend and as soon as i walked in , the director noticed it even though it was small and she asked me what happened and i love that ! they are on top of everything and VERY organized! They do have a facebook page but its not as active , i think it would put the cherry on the top if they posted on their facebook page at least twice a week with videos and pictures of the kids doing activities. The office staff are all super attentive and the director Juan knows every family and truly cares. My sons love the food and eat more there then they ever do at home.
