I originally booked the appointment at the location on N Dale Mabry in Carrollwood however when we arrived there e we were told they didn't have techs there should the dr need a scan to be done. So we were referred to this one and the staff moved our appointment out 30 minutes and changed to this location for us. All staff is typically so patient and friendly which is why I love Guidewell and would recommend to anyone. Arrived at this location to be greeted by friendly staff. The clinic was super clean. We were taken back within 5 minutes. Nurses and Dr were also very friendly. They take the time to learn the issue and walk the patient thru care. I'll always recommend Guidewell! read more

It says a lot that I'm giving this a 5 star review.....but you'll find in my details why and although this place is a bit farther than several urgent care facilities near me, I believe they are sufficiently staffed and have the proper equipment for an urgent care and is a fantastic alternative to an ER. I will say.... it would be great if they (or ANY) urgent care would remain open past 7 or 8 pm. I remember back in the day places used to stay open until 10-11 pm. It doesn't exist anymore but I wish this place would be. On to the review... So I was experiencing some symptoms I had never had before and while trying to reach my primary care and other Drs for some assistance in what I was feeling and maybe how to handle, I was not able to get through nor get any return calls in a timely fashion. I went to another urgent care close by and they did not have the equipment available for what they were suggesting and recommended Guidewell. I was reluctant because it was way up the road, it was getting late in the afternoon, the traffic etc and still not getting any answers on how to diagnose and treat my symptoms. I took a chance, I called on the way and made an appointment. When I got there, the staff was very nice, they helped me get started with the check in process and the wait time was not that long, there were a few people ahead of me. Plus I had the appointment if there was a long wait. Once I was brought back, they triaged me, asked all the questions and immediately started with BP and the basic stuff, then they didn't just take blood but in case I needed fluids they put in an IV that would give them the option later rather than sticking me twice...luckily I didn't need fluids. They ran quite a few tests and in a very timely manner. When it was time for the doctor to come in, she listened, she was patient, she was very professional and cordial and very thorough going over my results and recommendations. My phone had died and they didn't let me use their phone. My mother was very worried and tried to call the office, but nobody answered.

Unfortunately for me, I have now been here three times this year. Fortunately, though, I received excellent care and attention all three times. This location is on Dale Mabry right across from Al Lopez Park. I made my appointment on their website and they ask for all your information, but it's easy to do. With Florida Blue health insurance, you get two free visits here each year. I have a Silver level plan...I am not sure if all metal levels include this. Anyhow, check-in is quick and each time I have come I've been back in a patient room within 5 minutes of my arrival. I always see a lot of staff who are eager to help and friendly. It's almost as if they don't have much to do. Still, all the staff I've encountered have been great - they listened to me and made me feel comfortable. One time I needed a CT scan, and I was having it done 20 minutes after it was ordered and then I received results within 30 minutes after that. The front lobby and back area are super clean, too, so I appreciate that. I'm really amazed by the level of care I receive here and surely recommend it. read more

I have been to this facility 6 times and this is the BEST health care i have ever received. not only do they honor the appointment time, they make sure you feel like a priority and taken care of.. and most importantly NOT a number but. a person. I have had some health issues since covid and they have alleviated any concerns and any ailments. Special shout out to Tristan who is a medic there that always remembers my name and treats me so special. I would go here for any concern and the pricing even without insurance is INCREDIBLE. The service, facility and doctor- I would give 4 stars. The Billing Department- I'd give a negative star if I could. HORRIBLE! My daughter was involved in an auto accident in May. I took her to Guidewell to get her checked over & make sure she had no internal injuries. At the time I had to pay $250for the visit as our insurance company had not yet issued a claim number. Once a claim # was issued I requested a refund from Guidewell. Nothing happened. My insurance company then issued a check to GuideWell for $280 and Guidewell cashed it. I have made telephone calls, sent emails and have gotten nowhere. I have been told a Supervisor will return my call - nothing. I keep being told that the claim is "under review." Not sure what there is to review; they have been paid TWICE. Today I called for a supervisor, have been on Hold for 18 minutes now. read more

I went a couple years ago for a sprained ankle and care was excellent. This time was a disappointment and I will be going elsewhere in the future. Had to wait almost an hour to see a doctor, even though no one was in the waiting room. Was prescribed antibiotics for an ear issue, which have not helped. Cost me 30% more than it did the other time. Now I will have to go to an ENT to get more assistance. read more

Extremely frustrated. the nurses are very judgmental and deserve to be fired. I took my 24 year old daughter in yesterday because she had a bad seizure. there is no history at all. from the moment the nurse walked in, she treated her like a junkie looking for a fix after taking one look at her. she has a lot of tattoos and her legs are covered with black and blue marks because she runs a high restaurant kitchen and is constantly running in the kitchen to make sure things run right. the nurse REFUSED to hear anything we had to say and just kept saying "withdrawal symptoms" She does no drugs at all and does drink moderately but waking up in the morning with a seizure is not withdrawal. when we left, the only word from anyone is "the test results are in the paperwork" blood test results that are ALL 2-3 letter abbreviations and only doctors can decipher. multiple line items that were not normal, labeled either high or low, and no explanation for any of it. I paid out of pocket almost $1300.... they should be ashamed to call themselves a healthcare facility. read more

This was my second visit to guidewell this year. I have an unfortunate year, healthwise, and seen a fair number of clinics (and a hospital ER). The experience here is miles above any other provider I have used in Tampa. On this visit I saw Dr Meylynda Karlene who spent significant time and patience going through my various issues. The staff from the reception area, to the person drawing blood and other tests, were friendly and professional. Two things really stand out about this establishment. First, they are very open and upfront about costs (and price competitive). Second, there seems to be minimal wait time, which is surprising as they provide a level of care similar to hospital ERs. Hopefully I won't go back soon . But if I have health issues, this will be the first stop for me. read more

I love having Guidewell as part of my Health Care options - esp. on weekends, or when there is a urgent matter that needs attention. I recently had Dr. Tracy Sanson attend to me, and I have to say she was WONDERFUL. She performed a minor procedure on my head, and she described what was happening every step of the way. read more
