For my first visit, I decided to sample a little of everything -- pork steak, chicken quarters, and ribs. The sides of mac and cheese and dirty rice were decent, though they left a bit to be desired. The real highlight, however, was the meat. The chicken quarter was tender and moist with no hint of rubberiness, the ribs were flavorful, and the pork steak had an outstanding rub that would complement just about anything. The lady serving the lunches was an absolute delight -- friendly, welcoming, and eager to help since it was my first time there. In addition to their plate lunches, Martin Meats is also a full-service meat market, which adds to its charm and convenience.
