It's difficult to fully explain what happens during a session with her because the experience is so unique and deeply personal. I'm someone who usually prefers structure, plans, and clear expectations but this work didn't operate that way and requires you to submit and trust the process, as elusive as that sounds. I wasn't even super clear on what I wanted to work on initially, I just knew I was at a crossroads. However, reflecting back, the changes that occurred were profound, rapid, and largely unconscious/unintentional. I wouldn't have even necessarily been able to define what I wanted to change or heal until suddenly things had lifted and I realized how different I felt and was operating only in hindsight. This experience showed me this company is honest, keeps it word and does it's best to help their clients. If they make a mistake they will fix it. I would recommend them to anyone who can afford the services or happens to have very good Aetna insurance. If your goal is to increase and strengthen the mind body connection then this studio is for you. I love the restorative class. Susie really puts a lot of thought into crafting each class and there's an element of community building too. I also took a private restorative class from her to jumpstart my home practice- very helpful. The Feldenkrais and Somatics class is fantastic! When I leave that class I feel like I just had a long meditation. The hatha class is the most strenuous I want to get, and she is the best hatha instructor I have ever had. The Melt class was also great. While this wasn't perfect fit for me I did meet people in there that said it helped them manage their pain (better than anything else they've tried). I did not try the Hale yoga class so I can't comment on what that's like. I had a few acupressure sessions with Rachel and she was great. I got something out of those sessions- so great for strengthening the mind body connection. They also just hired an acupuncturist (also named Rachel) and I have been to her half a dozen times at another location. They certainly are building and recruiting the best of the best here. What's great is that it isn't composed of the same crowd as other studios. Classes have people ages 20s-60+. You can wear whatever you want without feeling like you're a bum (compared to all the trendy yoga clothes people wear). The focus really is on health. I highly recommend this studio. First I had to go pay $300 for labs and wait 5 weeks for an appointment with the DR. My visit with the DR gave me absolutely nothing for my money. I kept asking why aggressively altering my diet worked before, but now it wasn't working, and I needed him to help me modify what foods I was eating. He had no clear answer stating my body is not the same as it was when my diet regime was working..., yet he has the blood tests right there to help me figure it out. I was not willing to let him off that easy for what I was paying him. Finally, seemingly out of frustration, he just said to go to a "Paleo Diet", and insisted I only eat grass fed beef or seafood. No explanation. It was a cop out since he apparently does not have enough education to answer my questions on diet. He tried to get me to sign up with some company who prepared meals, (not Paleo by the way). I suspect he gets a kick back. fast forward to me trying to get an appointment with an Endocrinologist who specializes in my condition. They won't take me without a referral. To avoid having to pay yet another doctor just for a referral, I asked if Compass Human Performance would do it since I was seen by them for the same issue. They refused because I was not a patient, meaning other than the lab results consultation, I was not "treated". I remarked, if I was being treated...I WOULD NOT NEED A REFERRAL!!!" and what possible problem can it cause to refer me to a specialist who is going to help me with my medical issue??? It's JUST a referral!! They know i have blood sugar issues. that doesn't just go away, and the specialist will take over, confirm, and treat. What's the problem?? I am sure that anyone giving this clinic any more than one star must have insurance because only then can they afford the overpriced "treatment", kickback food preparations, vitamins and supplements sold out of the office, and any other price gouging rackets they have going. NEGATIVE STARS!! So now, I have to go pay more money I can't afford JUST to get a referral to the specialist! i am also going to go to my bank and dispute the charges and get my money back!! I am also going to do some legal research on their legal responsibilities and duties and file a complaint with the governing body they have to answer to.
